In the most general terms, every instrument you are recording or mix you are printing in the analog domain should run through AD+ and into one of the digital inputs on your Apollo or straight in via USB. I had a D-box for several years. Decent. Upgraded to Antelope and had that "ahhhhh!" moment immediately. My main AD converter and clock these days is a BURL B2 Bomber. No need to look further.
siriusisastar The Burl 2 is at least 7 years now. I’m sure it’s still great but surely the new converters these days will out shine the Burl 2 now. I don’t know maybe the Burl is better. Well I’m looking to get some converters outside of my blackface Apollo 8 and D-Box. Dangerous, antelope, and now Burl is top of the list.
What Antelope did you upgrade to? I hear all kinds of issues with their gear, I ran their clock in the discrete 8 vs my RME AIO. Literally zero difference.
Teyerance Alfred I don’t know. I looked at the Pure 2 before I got the ad+. I wouldn’t say better but different. I have the Dangerous Dbox and Dangerous 2 bus+ so it made since to match the Ad converter to the same gear. The Pure 2 sounds to my ears like it’s colored and im sure if the coloration is from the Ad or Da. But the Pure 2 is a Ad DA converter. The Ad+ is strictly AD conversion. The Ad+ is very transparent and clean. I’m glad I got it. If you get it you won’t regret it.

I went with Convert ad+ and the difference was huge!! Now I’m considering the adding the Convert 8.
