I got the better buttons and custom clam shell case for travel, installed mini heat sink, do you have an idea for a battery upgrade on the 353v/vs? Not sure which to try
I've installed the 2800mah battery (bigger difference than I thought it would make), BetterButtons, Garlic OS, and have the Sakura DMG kit coming when it ships. VERY happy with the 35XX.
A trick for screwing self cutting screws into plastic: The first time these screws were screwed in they cut threads already. When fastening them again back them off courter-clockwise first until you feel or hear the screw fall back into the thread it already created. Then screw them in clockwise, as usual. This way you are not cross-threading and weakening the posts.
@@n3er0o i always reverse screws to find the threads first, before screwing in. I was at work one day working closely with a fella, screwing to the left to find the threads. He said “you’re screwing the wrong way”. I said “I’m finding the thread!” Lol. People!
I used electrical tape for the bumpers. I placed a strip of tape over the back, inside the unit and it stopped the rattle and made it more plush to use. Feels higher quality now.
£42 for 4 3d printed buttons! 🤣 That's nearly as much as the handheld! My buttons will not be getting better unfortunately. Great video though, I'll be looking into the tape and bigger battery for mine 👍

I've seen the d-pad adjustment with electric tape a few times now and every time I think to myself: "But won't that mess up diagonal input in fighting games, for example?" Any experience with that?
Great video! Do you notice that the 353v better buttons require constant pressure to register an input even when clicked down? If I ease up on mine while holding them down I'll lose the input
There should be a text file that comes with the garlicOS files that explains how to do it, but i might have covered it in an other video. I'll see if I did, if not we can probably get a short out for it. -Aish
i bought the rg35xxh thinking id get used to the button placement of the triggers (L2 and R2), but just cant. figured someone else had an idea into making them 'better' by having an extended trigger that would sit beneath L1 and R2 and instead of its original placement. i dunno just throwing out an idea.
ok update on better buttons link, they have an option to buy a precut very thin electrical tape for the accidental diagonal input fix for 5$ which is really amazing. thank you for the vid.
Just curious if you know. Are the thumb sticks(in the 353v) switch ones, and if so could it use the gulikit hall sensor replacements? Just another possible mod I've been a little interested in and no one has seemed to try so far.
Ah I would love to hear more on this. We always rush to CFW, but I'm always ok if stock works well enough to keep as is. For me I found best performance and battery life with UnofficialOS or ArkOS. What's been your experience with so far?

@@retrohandhelds Tbh I was thinking if you can just install some vinyl onto the pcb but make some cuts for the contact points but idk if that's worth the hassle.
Hey I have a question I have a anbernic rg353v but I turn it on and Linux side stays on black screen. I turn on Android and loads up fine any recommendations on how to fix?
Maybe the memory card crapped out? (These things come with really cheap memory cards) The Linux OS is on the upper memory card, (Android is built in, no easy way to remove that) try a better memory card and throw ArkOS on it, or an image of the stock firmware assuming that's available somewhere.
@roflBeck I'm running arkos but the problem with arkos is when you use the recent game or fav game list it bugs out and goes to black screen. I disabled those features and haven't had a problem since. Thanks.
As far as I'm concerned, the only flaws are the off-diagonals on the d-pad and the rattle of the shoulder buttons. But uh... are these guys from Etsy literally just sending people 3D printed parts instead of 3D printing one master model that's already been sandpaper-ed and smoothed to make mass-produced molds from it? That feels like ordering a fast food meal at a sit-down restaurant's price and your burger's served raw with dethawed, uncooked fries. You gotta actually cook the food before you serve it, and you gotta make a proper mold before you sell it. Oh god, looking through all of the listings in the description... almost every seller is just 3D printing each order and shipping the 3D printed bits as is except for Better Buttons. Those case covers are horrific. My god, the strands all over the front of it, the Etsy seller couldn't have even of been bothered to clean that much off.
