  • This common spring wildflower is a member of the Iris family. As summer approaches, it fades back to persistent compact rhizomes and it will remain dormant until the rainy season.

    At Los Pinos Potrero by Blue Jay Campground- Cleveland National Forest- Santa Ana Mountains- Orange County at 3,350' the portions of the meadow near Coast Live Oaks and Coulter Pines are covered by this lovely plant like a lawn!!
