Thank you for this video. As I am someone new to the industry and in process of building my soft wash setup this has helped explain a lot on how to mix my chemicals and water.
Do you recommend flushing out with just water at the end of the day... The whole line? Or just a few seconds so at least the pump has been rid of bleach.?
Hey Cody bro Karl from TB POWER WASH First off THANK YOU SO MUCH! A wealth of knowledge I’ve gotten from watching your videos… and something I might have learned along the way I can maybe share with you… as far as the “pumps” always going out it may be due to the way it’s mounted as far as straight up and down when the diaphragm leaks… and it will… instead of just changing that part the chem drips back into the motor destroying it all together… I totally get it they will need to be changed and totally pay way more for themselves on one job but it might help keeping the sh from going back into the motor … I’ve only used a “lay down” mount and pumps last a good while as long as you flush… maybe mounting them upside down? With the diaphragm towards the ground so the leak stays out of the motor… anyway thanks for the videos and God bless
This is the reason why we only have two GF valves on our System. We use the cheaper valve for the water because the only time it gets turned off is for priming and then it's back on. No need for an expensive valve there. 👍🏼
Super helpful video! Looking to build one. What I see most is everybody using 1/2" lines and connectors. Wouldn't it be better to use 3/4" pipes and hoses?
David Weatherford 1) it looks funny if not built symmetrical. 2) if you ever have to run to the store in a pinch and buy SH at Walmart for example, you’ll be using much weaker bleach (6%) so you can vary your water valve to compensate
My answer would be that regular Ball valves pretty much have a wide open flow where as metering valves even when wide open have restrictions... If you throw a ball valve on water side and GF metering valve on bleach side you will be diluting your bleach down a lot costing you more money and throwing the whole point of you buying a $130 metering valve out the window.
Hey Cody, nice video man, one question you have the flow arrows from the scale or “dial” pointing up. Does it matter which way they are? For my understanding the liquids are flowing in that set up from top to bottom. Thanks for your videos all of them, new sub here
Is it just me or is the valve pointing in the wrong direction? According to the GF manual these valves are unidirectional and by the looks of the I dex plate in this video the valve with handle off is facing wrong way? Sorry if I'm wrong but just noticing this and want to build mine correctly. Can you please confirm?? Thank you!!
I see you mount your pump vertical with the motor facing down. Some do the motor up, some horizontal. What is your logic? The same is with the mixing valves, feed lines up or down?
does how the Length of the hose going to the tanks matter?? can they be different lengths?? is there a point wear they are just to long and it wont pull?? and can you just not use the middle valve? I have only need to pull from 2 tanks?? many thanks for the great video Southeast Soft wash! o yea almost forgot do you need check valves? thanks
Hi, does it matter "which direction" the flow travels through these GF valves?? I noticed in your video that the valves are mounted with the flow traveling in the opposite direction that the arrow indicates on the valve meter dial. Thanks again!
Hey Coty, how are you mounting the manifold? Is there a way to mount it and prevent damage when driving on bumpy roads or just plain road vibration? All I hear from people is how "delicate" this sch 80 is, but not a safe way of mounting..
Is the other big tank for the pressure washer only? Wouldn't the waterline from the water tank to the pressure have to be even or below the pressure washer for better gravity flow or does the pump suck the water?
will it be ok if i mount the pump and the blend manifold outside in the elements? some other videos i see them mount the manifold and the pump into a plastic tote
thats what I am thinking, also wouldnt there be a check valve that would need flushing also , maybe add a three way ball valve to that bleach line that goes to water??
I’m using 50/50 mix because I live in south Florida and the roof tiles don’t clean unless I use 50/50 mix, I do use a mask but I still feel my lungs are starting to bother me, any help to lessen the mixture and make it less harmful for my lungs
Are you using a chlorine rated mask? Paper or dust masks won't help, you also need to be clean shaven for the mask to seal properly to your face. Please be careful with this as chlorine is very bad for your lungs.
hey man been following you on youtube for the last few months great advice. 1 question . i want to have a proportioner with 5 knobs. water , SH, Soap, Degreaser and Bio Degradable mixture being that i dont want to get fines. lol is there a way to build a porportioner with 5 knobs
1.5 for a house wash with the soft wash, what is the percentage going through the downstream injector of a pressure washer. Assuming it is also 12.5 SH being used. I have never known how to figure it out
Hi Coty, I know this is a older video. I just wanted to say "Thank You" for this video on the blend manifold ratio. I don't do much roof cleaning in my area. By the time people get heavy moss on their roof they just replace the shingles. I still want to get a 12v softwash system just in case i get some clients who would like to get their roof clean or up sale with other cleaning. Even if i do two or three roof a year, it's still nice to have the system on the trailer. I got the math on the 12.5% (SH). If for some reason i use 10.0% (SH) is fully open 5%, half way 2.5% and quarter way 1.25%? I'm differently going to order this blend manifold from your company very soon. Does the surfactant need to be diluted in the tank for the blend manifold to pull it thru correctly?
Same question here. 🙋🏻♂️ Anyone?
Yes the surfactant needs to be 1/15 ratio it won’t pull correctly if it is straight surfactant
