    There are so many videos on chem mixes on youtube and internet, and most of them are just blatantly wrong. Coty, this is easily the most informative one I've seen. You're a credit to the service community, and hopefully steering people towards accurate information.

    Thanks for this video. It really answered some questions I had about the blend system and ratios but i have a question for you. If I m taping into the house water supply directly into the water portion of the blend system then to the 12v pump, instead of carrying a water tank. The pressure from the house will change the ratio?

    • @southeastsoftwash4020
      @southeastsoftwash4020  4 роки тому

      Yamil Ruiz yes. It definitely will. You really do not want to force water like that on these 12v pumps.
      you would want to have a small tank source for your water, and have the hose keep that tank filled. On our systems we use a larger water tank just to have the additional capacity to not be tethered to a hose.

    • @yamilruiz5436
      @yamilruiz5436 4 роки тому

      Thanks for a quick reply. What capacity tank will you recomend?
      A question just pop in my mind! I notice your systems run with a 12v 7gpm pumps with no accumulator What is the advantage of running a Flowjet accumulator with the 12v pump.
      Thaks for your help.

    • @southeastsoftwash4020
      @southeastsoftwash4020  4 роки тому

      Yamil Ruiz we use 5.5 gpm pumps.
      The accumulation tank can help to even out pump fluctuations due to psi going up and down as it’s running. Can extend pump life theoretically but I’ve never had a need for an accumulator in my setups

    On Stucco homes, do you use 1.5% or 2%? Also, do you need to worry about landscaping as much on house washing at 1.5% like you do with roof cleaning?

    • @southeastsoftwash4020
      @southeastsoftwash4020  5 років тому +3

      tbroyles usually stucco we shoot at 3%
      The hotter the mix, the more you need to be worried about landscaping. On a house wash, I never really stress about the vegetation. We still friends everything off really good, but it is not as big of an issue. Once you get up to 3% and above, you really need to pre-rinse and make sure you are rinsing all of the chemical off, and then rinse it again

  • @RandyHurtado

    Is there a such thing as a ‘too hot’ batch? Or is it purely a cost effective/efficiency argument? For example, if I want to put together a 1 gallon pump spray batch to kill roof mildew it was 100% Walmart bleach, would 6% hurt the shingles? Would that same batch damage siding?

    • @southeastsoftwash4020
      @southeastsoftwash4020  5 років тому +2

      Randy Hurtado won’t hurt anything on the roof. You could spray 12% on it, and it would not hurt anything. You are just going to be wasting more chemical that way, and run more risk of damaging the landscape the hotter the mix.

    Dude I subscribed, what setup, would you recommend for doing house washing and roof mildew mold removal, I been doing these for couple years and found I do alot of these and instead of heavy equipment for landscaping I'm thinking of creating a new soft washing busienss, so I'll be doing tree landscape, and handyman work and have a side busienss doing soft washing, I'm curious of the setup I should buy most of my customers are retired in gated golf course communitys and I really want to invest into this busienss, a simple efficient setup that will get the job done well. Any recommendations of a setup I should start with really want reliability and efficiency.

  • @blane9906
    @blane9906 4 роки тому

    When you batch mix, how do you figure out the percentage to include the water that’s mixed in when you downstream? For example a tank full of straight 10% won’t actually give you 10% by the time it comes out because of all the water that is getting pulled from the water spigot. I have a 5.5 gpm

    • @brents1643
      @brents1643 3 роки тому

      Good question. Did you find out?

    • @blane9906
      @blane9906 3 роки тому +3

      @@brents1643 Yes, just from my own understanding as I learn more and grow my business. Batch mixing is more for roof washing, and you actually don’t downstream when washing a roof because you can’t get a strong enough mix. So one way to get a stronger mix, you can use a 12 volt battery and a pump, so whatever you batch mix is what comes out when using the pump. There are lots of batch mixing charts out there that tell you what to mix and the ending percentage. You can only get like a max of 1:20 when downstreaming, so I usually don’t even mix water when downstreaming. There is another good video called “pressure washing: how to mix bleach” on UA-cam

      SH is sodium-hypochlorite, which is the chemical name for bleach. It's that simple just bleach. For soap I'd recommend dawn dish soap or something similar. The only reason you need soap is so that you can see if the mix is coming out, as bleach looks the same as water. With the soap, you will see bubbles and a soapy mixture come out, and that's when you know your mix is coming through
