Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is NOT What You Think

- In the past couple of months, we have learned more about the new 2024 Tiana's Bayou Adventure attraction coming to the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland. This ride is set to be something special, but people like myself have been skeptical of the ride's development. Well, after my last video, I'm here to admit I was wrong about some things I said, but not entirely. Let me explain.

No Dr facillier, come on Disney the big drop of the ride is supposed too be intense and a little scary, as you go up the last hill you should hear “are you ready” being chanted by voodoo dolls and dr facillier
The ride follows the story though and Tiana‘s a princess now so this takes place after he’s long gone😂

@@SirBuzz I thought Mama odie randomly shrinking then regrowing me only to throw me off a cliff while acting like a crazy old lady that knows what she’s doing ig😂 was pretty thrilling and fun call me crazy but at the end of the day I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable Disney poking fun at black culture made me scared of the past even as a little kid I dunno the idea of overcoming obstacles despite your background/past and seeing wat it led to makes me happy☺️ I mean it is “the happiest place on earth” isn’t it🤷

This takes place after the movie so he’s dead and that would mess up the story
@@TMG_editzzz Palpatine was also dead…did that stop Disney? The fact is, Dr F sneaking out from the other side is a lot more believable than Palpatine’s return and would make for a much more engaging experience.

@@HTom-dn2vp Your comment literally makes no sense. I am not arguing that it is not a sequel. I was pointing out that the argument that Dr F being dead and cannot appear in a sequel because it would “mess up the story” is weak given Disney’s track record for bringing villains back to life. What does that have to do with any lies or half truths?
@@Behinddarkness86 hey all I said would have cruise were one of things they were doing, but I suppose what I meant more was how a lot of videos talking about this Ride weren’t really doing their homework for instance him talking about how the animatronics look amazing and that videos of the animatronics have been out before he released a lot of his videos bashing this
but the plot doesn’t require a villain it’s abt looking for and coming across other music playing animals in the bayou. Then returning to the town in time for MardiGras via sortcut(waterfall), so a villain just doesn’t fit in. It just isn’t required. Why is it required? I’m just grateful we finally are rid of a ride in 2020 that perpetuates and glorifies slavery😂
Will be a HUGE mistake not to have Dr. Facillier...
They could have done some truly awesome things with black lighting with having his costume change with the music and everything.
Better idea:
MARDI GRAS MOUNTAIN
Exterior: Mama odies giant tree on top of the mountain
Story: retells original movie story in a fresh new way with new characters
Beginning outdoor portion: plays down in New Orleans/ almost there
How do you do scene: when we’re human
Laughing place scene: plays going down the bayou
Lift hill: ARE YOU READY
Mama odies uses a spell, knocks back dr facillier, knocking you down the waterfall.
Finale: dig a little deeper
Much better than Disneys weird salt mine story

Seems like trying to fit a ride about a workers collective in a salt dome, into what is a log flume ride, strikes me as trying to force the glass slipper on Drusilla or Anastasia's foot.
and we aren't even addressing the problematic history of "salt domes"

Man, my favorite Disney villain is erased from the ride. I wanted "friends on the other side" to play during the final ascension to the drop. I wanted it to be like "OH NO IM GONNA DIE GET ME OFF" but it's like "oh, I'm dropping. Ok." I feel pretty conflicted.
I still wish they could’ve built Tiana somewhere else. With a new land themed to New Orleans instead of replacing splash mountain.

It kills me they didn't put a voodoo section on the last drop, it's so perfect literally everyone thought of it, I'm sure it'll be a fine ride, but I'm going to be so disappointed if the rise is this uplifting journey rather than the darkest point in the ride
Sadly it is an uplifting adventure and is not a dark part

I never knew Splash Mountain had a story. Granted I only rode it once, but I had no idea what was going on.
Wow, Splash Mountain was only 30 years old when it closed? So my parents generation didn't even grow up with Splash Mountain. So why did they make a Song of the South ride for my demographic in the first place? I'm fine with it changing to Princess and the Frog, but they need to make better use of set design, story elements, filling dead space, and adding Dr. Facillier. They debuted this renovation way too soon. This looks like a first draft that still needed to be developed into the final product.
hi! disneyland peep here. i know the outwards themeing doesnt really work for magic kingdom but for me personally i like it.. (again like u said the bayou theme works spectacularly with new orleans and blends seamlessly with critter country. Im actually really excited for this ride. Do i have my doubts? yes! am worried about the screen seen in the bee section of the ride.. absolutely.. am I worried they wont add any voodoo into it. a little bit (especially with haunted being right next door.. i do hope the drop has something to do with voodoo. but with mama oda i do kinda believe that we will be getting that even if its only a quick refrence. But do i think ill still love this ride? yes! There will be parts that bring me out of it sure. but the anamatronics and the life ive seen in the current ride gives me a lot of hope that the ride will still feel alive (and actually might fit better due to the bayou at night theming. ( i do still wish for the tree but its ok.. )
I'm so excited and thrilled about this ride, it will be so much fun! Go, Disney!! Splash Mountain was my favorite ride but I'm looking forward to something new! 🎉🎉🎉
It does not matter what the best ride is it's something new and different which Disney has been missing a long-time ! Also the charactos like the frogs is really entertaining for kids who love frogs. I'm happy Disney is doing something positive especially with the with the whole cooking vibe which is fun! We can leave the vudo charactor out we have anought of that mess with the haunted mansion.

i just feel like this ride is just a flop in itself especially with imagineers leaving mid-project, that’s how you know this might be a flop but, i could be wrong fr 😭
You literally see the effort they put on these animatronics and theres no real source of those imagineers leaving mid construction.
No imagineers left halfway through.. stop spreading lies because you are mad about a log ride being rethemed
The story is after the princess and the frog movie and Dr facillier is dead so it makes sense that he’s not in it even though I love him and think it would be amazing

I've always enjoyed Disney rides because I'm familiar with the movie or at least the storyline with most attractions. Lately, I have no clue what is going on with some of the rides. I've never watched the Princess and Frog movie and have zero plans to ever see it. I've not watched Tron either. Thank goodness we have Universal Studios! Islands and Universal have far surpassed Disney in just about every facet of the theme park game and I don't see Disney catching up anytime soon!

This ride could’ve been as good if not better than splash mountain if they didn’t do the route they went with the story they focused on the wrong aspects of the ride (I’m sorry but compared to the Tiana animatronics the rest really lack) should’ve just focused on the fun and inspiring story that is princess and the frog

This is honestly extremely disappointing. The story sounds like it makes no sense and is really reaching to bring anything new to the table, when if they just followed the story of the movie it would’ve made perfect sense for the drop and length of the ride. I’m really not looking forward to this opening, but I am curious to see the pov when it releases bc the animatronics look amazing. Seems like a waste of such good tech
I feel the same way tbh, especially since here in California Disney has given us garbage like avengers campus and Pixar pier. Meaning I wouldn’t be surprised if they let us down again.
I just hope they dont screw up the avengers e ticket when they finally start on it here

This ride is really cool. Excited to ride it this fall. Never really cared for Splash Mountain that much so im excited to see how this turns out. Also I like this exterior more it's more pretty with the nature and plants.

Disney ruined a classic. They should have made a completely new ride for Tiana’s like what was done at Disney Tokyo fantasy springs.

While I do agree that it’s a downgrade from the original concept art, Splash Mountain was based on a movie with racist undertones. While it was a fun ride, I’m excited for this new ride.

I dunno about you, but footage of the ride has been released (both official and unofficial special guest). The ride is kinda poo poo. It's really boring, scenery is bland, and the story is messy unfortunately. Might be your cupt of tea, but definitely not mine.

Splash mountain was made off of a movie that is racist, which is another reason why Disney chose to rebuild the ride into something like Tiana's Bayou. Lots of kids would know who Tiana is more than what the splash mountain ride is based off of.
I guess you never watched the film. Far from being racist, it was very pro-black. An impoverished black sharecropper was the hero of the film. It also paid tribute to african foke lore.

Its storyline and animatronics are all based on the 1946 Disney movie Song of the South, a film heavily criticized for its romanticized view of the Reconstruction-era South.
