personally im super upset because splash mountain was really fun and atmospheric due to its very dense show scenes, i couldnt possibly care less about the song of the south ip, and i think racism in any form is intolerable. that being said, the ride has hardly ANY actual connection to the movie, and they could have very easily just replaced the brer animatronics with unlicensed character designs. this ride went from 76 animatronics to 16, that is nothing short of a travesty, its practically going to be a six flags ride. this combined with the confusing storyline and also the removal of that extremely iconic silhouette with the tree, reducing it to a strange brown lump just sucks. they could have just gotten rid of the characters from the movie but instead they gut it for no reason and try to play it off as something exciting. the actual ceo of the company said the ride was boring yet theyre gonna open it as is anyways, the only actual draw the ride has is that the tiana animatronic seems pretty impressive, but was it worth losing 60 for? i doubt it.

I'm sorry, everyone on both sides are taking things way too serious. It's a ride. If you don't update the rides from time to time it gets stale and dated, but the basic ride is still the same. For me the biggest issue would be the overcrowding and waiting 300 minutes for a ten minute ride as well as needing a bank loan to take the family for a day out.

I wonder if this updated ride will have more or less capacity then the old one now that you bring it up. Will be interesting to see if they somehow messed it up and it has even less capacity. Personally I’m just hoping they don’t butcher my states culture and manage to produce a ride that can hopefully reduce congestion in the parks while providing a satisfying ride though the loss of the previous attraction in my mind still a sad affair.

Splash in no way was offensive at all, its literally lightly based on the animated portions and on the tales of brer rabbit, you cant even relate it song of the south since none of the ride is even paralled to the film when outside of the brers none of the other critters appeared in the film. Everything your mentioning about racism with splash and the assumptions is so dumb.
I loved splash for the critters, the brers, and the songs and scenery its so dumb for you to assume everybody whos angry about this is racist when thats not even the case, even if it would have been replaced by something else like sword in the stone, lion king, or hercules we still would have been pissed. Its only the few right leaning conservatives who made it political who arent even splash fans that made it about race.
Most of us splash fans are sad because our favorite characters arent being featured literally anywhere else, the music is banned, and the other critters are too obscure to be featured outside the attraction were sad and angry that a ride we loved is gone as it was a happy piece of our lives. We hope the critters come back in some form like in a new America Sings but we doubt it will since their associated with splash now sadly.
And were angry that not one, but BOTH of them are gone, if it was only one we would have been fine but because both are gone its a good reason to be angry. And sure Tokyo still has theirs, but its much less accessable to travel there yearly than to disneyland/disneyworld.
We are also bitter because disney, the disney fandom, and general public now dismisses splash mountain as if it was the second 911. Splash fans dont really have a place in the fandom anymore which just feels terrible.
And when you add up the amount of animatronics that will be scrapped its around 180 all togethor, its sucks since they most likely wont keep any of the animatronics either, splash fans literally get nothing out of this no easter egg, last memorabilia, or any animatronics that stay its literally a huge lowblow for splash mountain.
Splash should have stayed and disney should have created a brand new original Tiana ride for her.

RIP Splash Mountain. Still wish we could've just gotten an extensive refurbishment of the original attraction than completely retheme it. I'm sure the retheme will be fine but I have so many memories of riding Splash Mountain whenever my family would go 5-7 times at the end of the day when no one was in line and the songs and characters are so memorable to me. I lost confidence in disney after webslingers. Splash mountain wasn't racist, song of the south was. All they have to do is make a mini series, or an animated movie utilizing the characters that are acutally on the ride, because they already have a skeleton of a plot laid out for them. would've been way cheaper, and would've made everyone happy.

How about Disney stops re-skinning rides and re-invest the BILLIONS they make from the parks every year into new attractions instead? Disney keeps taking their park profits (the only truly profitable division of their business) and spending it on making garbage movies and tv shows for Disney+. We've entered the post-Disney era. Let the boomers have their nostalgia while the next generations have fun in Super Nintendo World. It's been fun Disney...

Let's face it, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea has no relevance to most people today, on the other hand Little Mermaid is very popular. I agree that the transition should be gradual and possibly add new attractions, preserve old standards and update others. This allows old people like me to reminisce while enjoying the new with family.
I'm just tired of everything being about politics and sjw. If I go to the movies, a ballgame, or an amusement park, I'm trying to take a break from all of that and just enjoy myself for a bit.

And since it allready has the river log flume setting, changing it from a forest to a bayou would be easy. Also the original splash mountain has a steam boat. A Cajun themed restaurant that overlooks part of the ride would be booked solid much like the other 2 mentioned above and it is a shame they are not doing it.

splash mountain didnt mention slavery, etc. At all. It was clever to reuse characters who have true potential and put them to better use.If anything, song of the south should have just been forgotten and made into something new involving the animal characters themselves, with representation that is deemed appropriate. It would have costed less money to make a mini-story or series to revamp the story of the animals, than spend millions remaking a new ride that even a ceo said was straight up boring. Hell, it would have been less to just REPAIR the animatronics currently existing inside of it, or even have better reskins or furs put on them to make them more resistent to water.

  • @werekitty93
    @werekitty93 2 місяці тому +6

Here's my take, as an ex-Disney CM and internet nobody. I don't like that they keep changing rides to recognisable IPs when that's the whole point. I feel like Tiana's is the least egregious of them all - the retheming of Maelstrom, Universe of Energy, and Test Track are far FAR worse. Splash was long overdue for a revamp because of all the reasons you said - it comes from a very racist, antiquated IP. It needed a refresh. I'm not even necessarily upset that they chose Tiana - though also as you pointed out, it's a better fit for Disneyland than Disney World. I wish they had done something different, more in line with the theming for DW Frontierland. Like, even the Pirates ride in Disneyland is more bayou themed - and that's great! I think, though, my biggest issue is that Splash was one of the three mountains - Space, Big Thunder, and Splash. Now it's Space, Big Thunder, and...Tiana's? It doesn't fit. I think they needed to keep the theming of that. Keep calling it Splash or something similar. (I will also point out that it's generally called Thunder rather than Big Thunder, so that still works).
Idk it just makes me worried for the rides that still don't have recognisable IPs attached. Will they update Space to something like that? Thunder? Ultimately, I think it's a tough one to really deal with because the reason Disney does these revamps is to increase interest and therefore sales. They feel they need to. Which is sad, but the reality of what it is. Disney is forgetting the purpose of the various parks. Epcot was all about learning so they need to stop replacing all of the educational experiences with movie ones. If you want to have movie-themed rides - stick them in Hollywood Studios! It's the most obvious choice yet they never do. Of all parks, Magic Kingdom is the most obvious to have the princess-related rides, but I'd much rather something built from the ground up (like the Ariel ride or new Snow White rollercoaster) than a replacement of something. Making Splash Tiana's isn't the worst choice, but it needed to have the same simple, catchy name as Splash and, really, an overall fit in the area. Maybe Tiana's should've been in Disneyland and DW could've had Pocahontas.

Eventhough I have never been to a Disney park I can understand the feelings of the fans here.
In one of my local parks (Europapark, Germany) there once was an ride called "Abenteuerfloßfahrt"(adventure float ride) that was Safari themed. It had many beautiful scenes with animals and as a child I loved it. But bacause it tried to portray Africa and was built in a different time, it also had a few scenes with "african people" which were as problematic as you think. because of that, it was re-themed a few years ago, around 2018. It is now part of the Austrian themed area and has a girly "Sisi" theme ("Sisi" was an Austrian empress, she is a big part of popculture in the german speaking area).
Of course I know why they had to do this and that it is for the better as it is now, but I still miss the old ride.
I miss the jungle theme and the animatronic animals, I always will, but they will always be there in my memories.
And the memories you all have of Splash Mountain, will always stay with you as well. Missing something you enjoyed and loved is just natural, but change sometimes is unescapable.
I know it hurts but it will be okay, I promise!
(also, I am pretty sure that Tianas Bayou Adventure will be atleast better than the re-theme we got, so that could make it even a little bit easier for you than it was for me)

Good Riddance? Splash Mountain is such an iconic ride, it deserved better than getting this treatment, replaced with a mediocre forgettable movie, that nobody gave a shit about since 2009. I wonder how many people even seen Princess and the frog in theatres when it premiered, I'm sure not a lot because of the horrible representation it had. If Princess and the frog was so popular why didn't they replace it in 2010? because the movie wasn't popular enough, any recent Disney shows they had Tiana on during that time? Paint the Night? Fantasmic? World Of Color? Splash Mountain has been around since 1989 and has made a cultural impact on so much Disney media, even the 50th fireworks, remember dreams come true. Tons of merchandise, iconic songs, hell rope drop of Disneyland has zip a dee doo dah playing for everyone to hear, even first-time guests who have never been on before let alone to Disneyland. Tell me this if song of the south is racist then what's Peter Pan? America was built on racism son, you can't eliminate racism it will be around forever, not saying Splash Mountain is racist in any way, like anyone gets off of Splash Mountain and are already offended lol. And Tiana is not "modern" she is forgettable like her movie and her songs, can't imagine having any of the songs from Princess and the frog playing around the park, let alone in media, and if it's "modern" then I'm sure everyone knows about Swiss family Robinson. that's a classic movie nobody has ever seen or heard of. Tiana's bayou whatever the fuck has some big shoes to fill, it will never be as iconic. I found a reddit article from 2018 stating is Splash Mountain Racist? 20 comments all said no nothing racist about it, but the movie is kind of controversial, which I find hard to believe too, fast forward to 2020 now the haters are saying everything and anything of Splash Mountain, even simply mentioning the name is "racist" Splash Mountain truly deserved better, one of the most popular rides of all time gone forever, destroyed because of soft people who get so offended by everything, there are worst things in the world than changing a ride, you people are to stupid, bitter, and angry to even realize. #RIPSPLASHMOUNTAIN #DOWNWITHTIANA

    • @kaylumus1
      @kaylumus1 2 місяці тому +13

What makes it racist is the fact that Uncle Remus, who tells the stories of Br'er Rabbit and friends depicted on the ride, works on a plantation. Even though it takes place after the Civil War, and Uncle Remus is technically not a slave but a willing worker, many people saw it as a portrayal of the racist idea of the "happy Slave" who loved to work for white people. It's a shame because the stories are from African American folklore and deserved to be given a wider audience, and if the filmmakers had just given the film a slightly different setting and tweaked the character of Uncle Remus so that he was an independent worker and not subservient to white employers, they might have been able to avoid the controversy.

    • @lucasd6880

@kaylumus1 thanks for the reply. I'm still confused. There certainly were happy slaves, so I still don't see how it is racist. • @kaylumus1

@@lucasd6880 Well, think of it this way:
There may be women who fantasize about or enjoy being raped; but it's still a horrible crime, and if a well-known company made a movie with that message, people would be rightly outraged. So, while there may have been slaves who were well treated and happy with their lot, slavery is still a crime against humanity that no company should try to soften or minimize.

People should examine their misconceptions of the film instead of jumping on the band wagon of racism. Tiana is from African American heritage does it make it any better? She is still a product of the slave trade in theory, it was part of American history. American Adventure at Epcot celebrates the country's history from when the white settlers arrive with only a nod to the native Americans who are the indigeneous peoples, no comment on how they stole the land and slaughtered thousands, I find that more offensive than a singing rabbit and bluebird..

"Back to the salt mine" as an advertising slogan for Tiana's Bayou Adventure doesn't sound like a winner.
"Bayou" is another word for "swamp." Tiana's wetland adventure doesn't quite roll of the tongue as well as the French word for swamp. As for diversity, the new Disney attraction can be home for all the African native figures displaced from the Jungle Cruise attraction--replaced by monkeys in the Jungle Cruise.
Swapping one bit of problematic racism for another doesn't seem progressive. How long will it be until Tiana isn't diverse enough? My crystal ball cracked when i misused it for bowling.

My biggest problem with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is the way they handled Splash Mountain. I’ve been to Louisiana a ton of times, and I know for a fact that there’s no mountains in Louisiana. Number two the people who were saying splash mountain was a racist attraction based off a racist are the same people who would wait an hour plus to go on the ride. I have no issue with Tiana having an attraction. I just feel personally she deserves a restaurant instead. Disney doesn’t really have any New Orleans style cuisines in hardly any of their restaurants. I thought having Tiana’s restaurant at Port Orleans would make perfect sense.

Hello! I’m actually a resident of Louisiana and yes we don’t really have mountains. The only thing really I know of we refer to as a mountain is mt Driskill which is the highest natural point in the state and even that is only 535 feet above sea level. The ride is referred to though as being a salt dome I think in the video. Now onto the restaurant there actually is a restaurant already themed to the princess and the frog in the Disney parks. Tiana’s Palace which recently opened over in Disneyland. I wouldn’t be surprised with it existing in Disneyland for it to be planned to eventually be opened in Disney world. It opened last year. As for the ride I am in an unsure position as to how it will represent my states culture and I am a bit nervous that from what I’ve heard it’s apparently boring according to some tests.

Yet fortresses are the center of the international parks. Song of the South does not promote nor apologize for slavery. I think it collided with the 2nd A of NAACP. It was not about black higher ed professionals and instead featured the class many members were ashamed of. Hate of Song of the South is hatred and shame of poor farm people. Their African stories are embarrassing to them. The dialect is disgraceful to their urban aspirations. “How dare they sing and smile? This promises to be a disaster and I hope it fails.
This “update” is as disingenuous as it is haphazard.
Word is, the new “imagineers” never even looked at the blueprint and just started stacking and it shows. In my experience as an art school dropout, splash mountain was a brilliant visual design in multiple ways. The new imagineers don’t seem to take much into account, including the biggest glaring error:
I’ve been to Louisiana. The bayou is A BASIN. A CONCAVE soup bowl BELOW sea level (which was why Katrina was such a disaster especially to them). There ARE ZERO mountainous terrains there, all the trees are short. They changed the intricate fantasy landscape of SM with what looks like Hobby Lobby quality vines and leaves. They’ve clearly never even been to Louisiana or did any research like a competent imagineer would do, but I wouldn’t expect them to because to them it’s not the point. It’s about politics, disguised as artistic “progress”. The entrance to the queue looks like you’re walking into Ta-Fiti’s butthole, tell me how that’s progress 🙄
Even the ride’s story is dumb af. I could sum it up by changing the name to
“InTIANA Jones & the Quest For the Missing Ingredient 🥘”. The animatronics are being drastically cut, that can’t be a good thing.
It’s wild to me how someone can form an opinion on something based exclusively on what other people say when those people base their opinions on what other people say, etc. and no one has any experience in that actual thing they object. I’ve seen song of the south. The only thing racist about it was the era. The final scene of the movie has kids of different races holding hands, singing and skipping over the horizon. Wow, that sounds disgustingly racist, right? 🙄
Speaking of racist, *this race swap is inherently racist in that it low key implies that black folk only deserve hand me downs and the only way they can be included is by being given hand me downs, and they never deserve any original ideas, or make any of their own*. But somehow I’m the racist for saying so. Sure, Jan 🤭
P.S. Tiana’s animatronic looks sus to me, it looks like a reskinned Belle with a modified nose. More hand me downs, eh? 😑

If current year Disney was the same innovative and creative company of the past, we’d be able to have confidence that a ride update would be an improvement that showcased cutting edge technology, skill, and care. Sadly for us Disney of today is cheap, lazy, and prone to cutting corners and “good enough-ism.” I expect lazy projections and a cheap new coat of figurative paint, lackluster music, and a nonsensical tacked on storyline. They take money generated by the parks and use it to fund endless crap movie sequels, remakes, and spin-offs while letting those very parks fall into disrepair. Whatever they do to the ride will likely be motivated by “cheaper and easier to maintain” and “get the PR boost if a new ride without actually making a new ride” the bare minimum. As a former fan it breaks my heart to see what they’ve become.

As stated, the racism was just ignored for the sake of money. As we’ve seen these past few years racism and supremacy is so ingrained in our culture so many are blind to it and prefer to jump off a cliff (er, mountain?) defending it.

I hate that Splash Mountain got replaced, but the fact is that a lot of the animatronics and effects were breaking on a regular basis, and the machinery was becoming outdated and pricey to maintain. I wish they'd just done a massive reboot on Splash Mountain to make it more respectful toward black people, and added a Tiana ride for extra diversity, but I don't work at Disney.
I don't think it's racist to be upset about Splash Mountain. The Brer Rabbit stories are still an important part of African-American culture, and aren't just from a racist movie. Plantation slaves told the stories to each other to keep their hopes up. Brer Rabbit represented the smart black slave, and Brer Fox and Brer Bear represented the dumb white slave owners.
Clover missed one of the early details where it was brought up that Tiana is searching for a missing ingredient for her Mardi Gras celebration party. Also, bringing Dr. Facilier back is a possibility due to how he met his end (See Shrek 4-D for ideas), but bringing Ray back would be WEIRD.

After watching your video I agree with you. This re theme of Splash Mountain to Tiana's Bayou Adventure is not only problematic to Splash Mountain in both parks in the United States but a recipe for disaster waiting to happen. Not only Disney broke a lot of rules and waist a lot of time and money during designing and building the new attraction in both parks but they made a lot of Disney fans unhappy.
Not only this is sad but this is also really bad.
A lot of angry people are going to get Disney to sign a contract to not allow anymore classic attractions getting re themes in the Disney Parks after Walt Disney's work.
Just because how this attraction and or even Mission Breakout is not as good as Tower of Terror or just the failures of this re themed classic attraction alone.
Ether way Tiana's Bayou Adventure is going to be one of the worst re themed attractions in Disney theme park history because everyone else is not going to be happy with this re theme of Splash Mountain.
Everyone is not interested in this because they don't want it and Tiana is a great Disney Princess but this is not the kind of attraction she should be taking part in. For Disneyland fans this is not going to share the same success as the Tower of Terror re theme.
The reason why Mission Breakout worked so well because the Marvel stuff that Disney is doing in their parks right now is very popular and Tiana's Bayou Adventure was definitely a step back.
Which is why everyone is saying no to the Splash Mountain re theme because everyone one is protesting and fighting against the re theme and Disney is not paying attention to the public. Everyone has tried to save Splash Mountain for getting re themed by making petitions and UA-cam videos to get the Disney Company attention to the public and everyone hoped that the re theme would get canceled and all would be well but it didn't happened with in a few months or a few years and we knew it was really bad.
In all honesty this re theme to a classic attraction is just so bad it’s unbearable. Disney is being very stupid to where they get rid of their most well know ride that attracts tourists by billions every year and getting rid of it because of a misunderstanding situation.
It's about time to get revenge on Bob Iger and Carmen Smith.
After the re theme of Splash Mountain in 2024 we need to remove Bob Iger the CEO of the Walt Disney Company from office and hire a new CEO to make Disney great again along with getting Carmen Smith Creative Development at Disney Parks Experiences and Products fired from Walt Disney Imagineering for erasing history on Splash Mountain and hire someone else to take over her spot and change things back the way they were.
The only way to bring the Song of the South characters and songs back on Splash Mountain in Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida is to boycott Tiana's Bayou Adventure, go on the new Marvel attractions including Mission Breakout in Disney’s California Adventure and give Bob Iger and Carmen Smith a run for their money.
The reason why I’m saying this because the Marvel stuff that Disney is doing in their parks right now is not only popular but by far having the best Marvel themed attractions, lands and other things that Disney is doing.
Ever since Tower of Terror in Disney’s California Adventure is re themed to Mission Breakout it was not only the first Marvel attraction ever built and it’s not only a success but it’s the best re themed attraction.
Not only that Disney owns Marvel which is why we have theses Marvel movies and TV shows on Disney Plus and Disney is thinking of every attraction and land they can think of for their parks based theses Marvel movies and TV shows.
Plus once Disney re themed Tower of Terror to Mission Breakout in Disney's California Adventures at Disneyland in California they cannot re theme the original Tower of Terror to Mission Breakout in Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Florida. So that is going to be the only biggest downfall for Tiana's Bayou Adventure because the Disneyland Splash Mountain was not only the first Splash Mountain built in 1989 but it's the oldest Splash Mountain in the Disney Parks and with the Walt Disney World Tower of Terror when it was built in 1994 same thing. Not only that but another downfall of Tania's Bayou Adventure is both human and concept art failures brought Splash Mountain down.
I hope we will get some better people to work for Disney. Because right now since 2020 around the same year COVID-19 happened both Bob Iger and Carmen Smith have been doing some weird and not very good things theses past couple of years.
They not only lay-off Disney employees and Cast Members in the Walt Disney Company and the Disney Parks but they also made men dressed up like Disney Princesses and other bad things that's hurting the Walt Disney Company. They also made the park guest unhappy about the reservations to the Disneyland parks and rides.

Uncle Remus was a farmhand. 🙄

    • @vespista1971
      @vespista1971 2 місяці тому

Okay, yes, he was a farmhand who was in a situation we now realize is not good… but critics go too far in saying there’s NO way he would’ve ever been so happy or joyful in his situation, (which is, to my understanding, what they claim is so racist about it?)…
There are plenty of people who, even in not-great life situations, remain optimistic and happy. My grandfather, for instance was born in poverty in Appalachia, had his mother die when he was only 6 and was thrown into even more hardship, lost his 1st wife in childbirth and never saw his baby daughter again when she was given to her maternal grandparents who promptly moved far away… then worked like a dog every day of his life just to claw his 2nd try at a family up to the lower side of middle-class, and on top of that, was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis that caused him a lot of pain, (only slightly mitigated with medication), when he was around 50, before I was born. Yet, the entire 30 years I knew him (from when he was 56 till death at 86), he was the happiest, most positive-thinking person I think I’ve ever met. He was always smiling, always joyful and generous with his heart and his time, and often sang little tunes and told “Brer-esque” stories that he’d learned as a kid in the mountains… As a matter of fact, when I saw Song of the South as a kid in the 70’s, Uncle Remus was endearing to me and reminded me a lot of my grandpa.
Now, as a kid, I didn’t realize any of the backstory was problematic. And I’m not saying that there couldn’t be a discussion about any of it, or a message at the beginning explaining all of that, as there have been in other older works… but, (and this is me as a progressive, liberal person), I just don’t see what is SO terribly “racist” about Song of the South that it would’ve had to be buried like they did to it. I can think of other older movies that are way more problematic still out there for general consumption, (like those crows in Dumbo?? C’mon…).
Also, I’m pretty sure that the family of the actor, James Baskett, who played Uncle Remus, (the first actor to be in a motion picture that combined animation and live action, by the way), were against burying the movie. I would be too, if I were them.
Truthfully though, I’m not even that salty about Splash being turned into something else, as attractions at Disney Parks do get re-themed sometimes… But shoe-horning Tiana into an obvious mountain-theme when there are no mountains in New Orleans, (and the salt-hill thing is a lame stretch, to say the least), seems lazy and antithetical to what Disney Parks used to stand for. I would’ve rather seen them re-theme Tom Sawyer Island and the surrounding water for Tiana, (that might have been epic), or better yet given her a totally new attraction specifically built for her story. And then if the Brer Rabbit stuff still had to go, why not re-theme the Mountain to a story that actually includes mountains?? Lion King maybe? Mulan? I dunno… Has to be some IP that would’ve fit there better, (don’t even get me started on how everything has to be tied to IP these days, instead of just standing on its own - we’ve clearly lost that battle).
Oh well, I clearly have higher expectations of Disney than I should 🤷🏼‍♀️

Br'ar rabbit is also a blend of African folk tail mixed with Caribbean. It was done with love, however misguided people find it. That said this is a new celebration of cultures hopefully.

    • @vespista1971
      @vespista1971 2 місяці тому

@@maggiethies3094 Exactly! I didn’t mention that part because I’d already gone on so long, but the Br’er Rabbit stories are lovely folk stories handed down in African/African American oral tradition, so shouldn’t they be celebrated? I liked those stories. People just go too far with the PC stuff and end up throwing the baby out with the bath water. I’m all for Tiana having an attraction - LOVE that film. But I think she should’ve gotten her own new thing, instead of just being shoehorned into that mountain just to cover up Splash 💦

Walt Disney spoke in his own words about things like this. He knew that as the world changed so would attractions with new ideas. He said that Disney theme parks would ever be changing & addapting. Disney would actually have been on board WITH this change. It just would have been done back in 2016 to start! The idea of it was in 2014-1015 for Slash to become a ride for a black princess, not to be destroyed, but redone showing honor to the past, but also showing the future & what can come from its figurative ashes. by 2018 the idea was finished with the announcement at 2019's D23. But when the ride was supposed to close in 2020 COVID happened & it was put off so that Slash fans could ride it one last time.
Even the black community thought Disney made a racist film, choosing New Orleans & VooDoo as its magic, until Disney revieled that the film was made as Bambi & others were... by bringing black people in from around the world including Jamaca, England, Africa, America & more & theyt made the story what it was!
Sometimes a little research goes a long way to understanding. Then those who think Disney is WOKE become WOKE themselves!!!

Please your literally making all this up. Disneyland wasnt even close to being completed when he was alive and he never had to redo a ride while he was alive he just created rides.
Walt was super fond of the brers and sure the movie was controversial but the characters didnt originate from the film and disney continued using the brers for any promotion even releasing new version of their songs.
"Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world. Here is the world of imagination, hopes, and dreams."- Walt Disney
Nowhere in this quote does it show he would have been on board with it. Your just putting words in his mouth and spinning it your way.
Also how bout you do more research on the brers themselves their origins, and what the term what a "salt mine" is for this new ride.

My biggest issue with Tiana’s Bayou adventure is that by putting a date of when the ride is supposed to take place, they have essentially stated that they are excluding their two most popular characters besides Tiana from the
Ride! Ray and Dr. Facilier! Also hight requirement for the ride is not meant for little kids under 6 years old. The ride was meant for thrill seekers. Imagine all the little girls who are going to be turned away from the ride sobbing because they are too short to ride a princess ride. That might be an issue.
