    I was dueling this kid and I used Seal of Orichalcos and was about to win, but he ran away somehow without finishing the duel so I didn't get to take his soul.

      1) Just cuz I am a Yugioh fan doesn't make me sheltered.
      2) You must be a Yugioh fan too, if not you wouldn't be commenting on this.
      3) Just where did that insult come from? Did I offend you in some way?
      4) You started the joke, not me. I just added to it.
      5) Just...ugh....why? Why do you feel the need to be completely irrelevant and start an argument that I'm pretty sure you just lost? Do you have nothing better to do? And I'M the sheltered one. Please. Just go away. I don't need to deal with you but I'm doing it anyway. Why? Well, to be honest I find the shit people say on the Internet amusing. Case and point.

      Woah, woah calm down bro, obviously you didnt watch the original series which pretty much everyone in this community has. It's like saying someone is living under a rock. Just a joke, no one should feel insulted by that, just a comment of surprise...
      Btw, we weren't even arguing, All I did was make a comment showing my surprise to the fact that you didn't know much about the original series which I think we all universally accept in this YuGiOh community as what brought people to know and love this game.

    You know I went through this entire tournament, had cards stolen on the way to the tournament amongst a trial of other life endangering instances during the tournament only for when I finally achieve victory and win the tournament for a chance to play against a guest duelist, to have the guest duelist have a supernatural prosthetic eye that let's him read my thoughts. I mean, come on man! So I give him a proper beating blindly playing my cards, quite flawlessly. I mean, cheating is cheating, supernatural ability or not.

    I remember facing these two cheaters with their sticker yugioh card: Blue eyes ultimate Dragon..
    we faced a 2v2 duel to impress the cutest girl in the class. (we were in 3rd grade)
    One of them summoned the blue eyes to destroy my magnet warriors (all three magnet warriors) because Blue Eyes ultimate has three heads and they thought it can attack three times...
    Luckily I was able to negate the attack in order to special summon Valkyrion the magnet warrior.
    I used Change of Heart to take control of Blue Eyes and finish them off with a direct attack.. the other issue was that they didn't wanted to admit defeat because that blue eyes was a fake..
    after 10 mins or arguing my partner and I won the game
    and 12 years later I'm still dating that cutest girl in class!!

    When I did play back during the GX series and I was trying to build my Elemental Hero deck and learn how to play the deck. So during the time I went to a tournament I had a kid who was deaf so he only knew sign language. So I wouldn't call this cheating because he didn't know any better, but what I did was I dropped out because I felt bad since he had a lot of banned cards in his deck and more than 3 copies of some cards. So what I did was I grabbed the banned/limited list from the judges and I quickly removed any cards he wasn't supposed to have. The cards I saw he had the chance to beat me since I was still new to the Hero Deck and didn't know how to properly play them and I was missing some very needed cards in order to win any duel with it. So I finished removing his deck and told him brother who was the only one who can communicate with him I told him that the deck was modified to help him and the kid came in 2nd place in the tournament. I am one to admit to it, but I did feel really bad for him so I take all responsibility for that. Call it cheating or whatever you want I just wanted to help him.

    Similar thing happened to me at my locals...
    I'm playing Evols, he is playing Shaddolls. Its Game 3 and I ask how much LP he has. He says 2000. Then, he uses Soul Charge and has 1000 left, followed by taking 600 damage from Cowboy running over Caius. Then, my next turn, I detach from Cowboy to finish him off and he says "Okay, so I have 1200". This followed an argument, where a whole ton of people who didn't even watch the duel sided with him, and the judge ended up siding with him. I lost that duel when I should have won it. :/

    Once, I was facing this one guy who had Turtle Catapult, Winged Dragon, and Gaia the Fierce Knight on the field while I had Castle of Dark Illusion, a bunch of other monsters (This was so long ago I kind of forget what they were) and Chaos Shield up, while he had Swords of Revealing Light. Long story short, he fused his Gaia with Winged Dragon and had Turtle Catapult fire it at my Castle of Dark Illusion, but he "Only destroyed the flotation ring" and said that when he ended his turn, ending SoRL's effects, it would come crashing down on my monsters who were trapped by my Chaos Shield, but before I could bring mention of it to a judge, he subjected me to a Penalty Game and then banished me to the Shadow Realm.

    Not everyone but a lot of top players cheat in yugioh always like making those derpy moves or making people commit mistakes during the duel, this video is the perfect example of that, i dont think that the top players always top because they have the greatest hability or the most creative minds, they always shark everyone.

  • @ArchetypeLegend

    I've had my fair share of cheaters at locals. Not only do awful judges lurk there but the "competitive players" seem to whip out their own calculators and they seem to change the numbers on a whim. I've done the "cowboy for game" play plenty of times and they always seem to say that they have more life points and a huge debate ensues to which I seem to lose just because the other "competitive players" back him up (even though they were almost always at the other table not even watching the duel). I like playing yugioh, but a lot of people seem to muck up the experience. :(

    I got a DN story about cheating. I was facing a Burning Abyss Dark World player, I was using Frog Monarchs. He sends Grapha to strike me directly, but I stopped it with Battle Fader. We both had 300 LP left, so the duel was very close and almost finished. When I stop Grapha with Battle Fader, he tells me that I can't because, "I didnt declare the SS of Battle Fader". I have never had any opponent give me any bullshit reasoning like that before. I'm pretty sure he was rulesharking me, so I called an admin, hoping TempestBlue, an admin who I find to be the best on DN, would come. Nope, benren comes in, and he knows me well, me and him have always argued in the past. So he comes in, I knew even he would know this is a BS reasoning and obvious ruleshark. Watchers come in, and they start typing in caps and telling me to "go kill myself". Benren actually sides with my opponent, and I give my best explanations to how he is wrong, and gives me a game loss. When I tell him what the watchers are saying he just says, "I cant control what they say" and just leaves. Now, I know its just a game, but Benren should have his admin status stripped.
    To this day, I cant believe my opponent got away with it...

    • @flyingsquidcards258
      @flyingsquidcards258 9 років тому +21

      You should go report the admin so his status is watched. Personally I record every match I do and when an admin bs me with the rules I immediately send it to the developers.

    • @JadeDragon1016
      @JadeDragon1016 9 років тому +3

      I have had issues in the past with Benren as well, and he is one of the main reason I actually stopped playing DN. I have submitted 4 different admin abuse reports with him specifically, and yet I still see him, as far as I know, as admin. He has a tendency to hold grudges against players who "argue" or "disagree" with him, and they end up taking the hit in future involvements with him.

    I remember I was playing against Madolches on DN with my Harpies and the guy summons Tiaramisu the same turn he uses Chateau, meaning that his graveyard is empty. I have a Master of Blades on field. He activates Tiaramisu's effect and I say he can't because he has to have a Madolche card in the graveyard before he attempts to activate the effect and he claims that judges have sided with him on this same thing before at regionals, locals and I'm like well they're wrong. It's like Lumina or Zombie Master or Daigusto Emeral where you must have an applicable target before you use the effect. The dude quits cuz I was right. I was gonna go for game next turn anyway but still left a bad taste in my mouth.

    Years ago, I used to attend the local tournaments at a tiny comic shop in my area almost religiously. Every week I'd be there playing, and every week I was in bottom four, but I loved playing anyway. One of those weeks, I ended up getting paired off in the first round against one of the assholes who always got top 4. I don't call him that because he always won, but because he always rubbed it in the other player's faces and called them really nasty names for not beating him, but he was allowed to be there week after week because his parents were wealthy and let him use their credit cards on whatever he wanted at the shop.
    So I start to face him, and we're shuffling our decks. I liked to watch my opponents to read how they were going to play and try to bait/bluff them, and as I watched him I realized he was shuffling his deck in a very deliberate, patterned way. Before then, I usually just "tapped" my opponent's deck after the shuffle, letting them go ahead, but as he finished his weirdly intent shuffling, I passed him my deck and reached across for his. He flipped out, swearing at me for trying to touch his cards and trying to demand a game loss. I reminded him that you allow your opponent to cut your deck after shuffling. He tried to get the others around him involved to prevent me cutting his deck, but they all told him to shut up and let me cut. It turned out he was getting top 4 by setting his deck up beforehand in a specific pattern, and then "shuffling" certain cards in certain ways so he always got the perfect hand.
    I wish I could say I won- and he did lose his matches against me horribly and I went on to get out of bottom 4 for the first time ever- but I stopped watching him out of disgust while he was putting his deck back in the order he wanted it. When I returned, 3 of my decks I'd been working on building that were almost tournament ready were gone, as was he. The shop didn't have any video cameras, and even if they had I don't think they would have helped me, and I couldn't prove it was him- even after he was caught by other players selling the pieces of my deck back to the shop the next Wednesday...

    CFV but at locals a dude tried to cheat with the excuse of a high ranking player did it at regional. In short he was trying to use an effect and then pay the skill afterwards.
    More detail: In CFV there is a main unit that's always on the field called a VG. You can change your VG by riding (placing a card on top of your VG). The bottom card is moved to the soul which is under the VG.
    Thing Saver Dragon's skill is that it can ride another copy of itself from the deck and the cost for doing this is removing 3 cards from soul (soul blast) and something not reinvent. The dude said since was on 2 soul he could activate the skill as he could get the 3 cards in soul when TSD used its skill.
    The glaring problem is that you're getting the skill before paying the cost. Not mention the card is was like "[condition that skill can be activated in] then you may pay the cost, if you do [skill here]", AKA the card itself says the cost has to be paid first, no other knowledge or reference required.

  • @thelegendaryhero1

    It was at my locals, I was facing Constellars (Fucking HATE that deck with a passion), I was playing Fire Kings. Garunix was destroyed by a card effect and during his standby phase, I said "Activate Garunix's effect" and he chains Black Horn of Heaven. I told him he can't do that and he said yes he can, then pulls out one of those fucking Cancer rulers and says it has to have a Semi-Colon in order for it to start a chain (Which was bullshit, Semi-Colons is for a symbol of a COST, Garunix has no cost whatsoever). Judge came by, and I was overruled and I lost the match because I was at a great disadvantage. I was so pissed that even that "good" player didn't know jackshit about the deck and I've been playing the deck ever since it was first released.
    Next time, I'm going to bring in even more evidence that Garunix's special summon is a motherfucking effect, not an inherent summon. Is it that fucking hard to know the difference between Inherent Summons and Effect summons? Inherent summons will always have parenthesis (From your ---), while effect summons will always have a Colon like *If this card was destroyed by a card effect: You can Special summon **---*

    • @jackachugaming
      @jackachugaming 9 років тому

      Effect summons are either a semi-colon or a colon, not just colons, but yeah you got done.

    • @TheNinetyFirstPeanut
      @TheNinetyFirstPeanut 9 років тому +3

      A judge that doesn't know the difference between an effect summon and an inherent summon should be terminated as a judge. I mean seriously? That ruling is ridiculously easy. Garunix even has a colon showing that it's an effect. I could maybe understand if it were an older card that had no PSCT and the judge wasn't taking their time but, c'mon. That's just sad.

    • @Stevenedcastle
      @Stevenedcastle 9 років тому +1

      I'm not an expert so I'm simply asking, isn't the special summon of an opponents monster by its own effect subject to horn? Because if not then what else can it hit aside from synchro and xyz?

    • @thelegendaryhero1
      @thelegendaryhero1 9 років тому

      steven castle Black Horn of Heaven negates any type of Inherent summons, it could be as you said Synchros and Xyz, Contact Fusion... basically any monsters with an up-to-date PSCT that basically has parenthesis, see Cyber Dragon, Dark Armed Dragon, and Black Luster Dragon as an example. And because Pendulum summon is also considered Inherent summon, Black Horn of Heaven can be used against them. (Although there's been quite a lot of rulings going around, OCG rulings vs TCG rulings).
      And to make things even more simple, Inherent summons can only occur during Main Phases.

    I'm going to call myself out on an instant when I accidentally cheated, I didn't read the full card effect. i was messing around with a D/D deck, used Swampking to pull out Temujin, had a Lilith in the grave, all the fun stuff. Summoned Night Howling, used its effect to revive Lilith, added back the face-up Kepler, synched for Alexander. Used Temujin to revive Night Howling, Alexander to revive Lilith, synched for another Alexander. I didn't realize then that Night Howling had the line of text that I can only summon Fiend-type monsters the turn I use its effect, so I used the two Alexanders to Xyz into Dracossack. Won that because I didn't realize Night Howling had that effect, my friends and I have been playing the deck correctly since, but the fact remained, read the full text! Two or three words can affect a whole game.

    I had a major cheating by the fact a friend of mine who taught me Yu-Gi-Oh, she is also a licensed judge by Konami. I played a trap card and she countered with Dark Bribe, I countered with my own Dark Bribe, making her draw a card, so I could activate Appropriate and draw cards, then she activated her own Appropriate to draw cards, but I countered with a Dark Bribe and forced her to draw one card and I could draw two cards again. This is where she calls me out for cheating, as I could not draw the second portion of cards since she had never finished her draw of it and the chain would allow her to do it. I checked it up and it was false, but she kept on going and going that I cheated. I just activated my last trap card on the field, Royal Decree, and said "I hereby make my Royal Decree that I will never play with someone who sullies the honorable title of judge with cheating." To say the least, she and me have not dueled since then.

    One of my friends told me that he was dueling this guy at his locals once, and the guy had out both swamp and laval battleguard and when my friend went to attack one of them he would say that he uses say swamp battleguard to protect laval battleguard from the attack. I thought that was really funny. The dude was going of the show rules.

    Its people like that that put me off being a competitive player in yugioh. With so many card specific rules in yugioh, its far too easy for some sore loser to ignore rules and often get away with it if they're using a obscure card combos with rulings only they are likely to know about. That guy was a moron though for thinking he could get away with ignoring one of the main rules of the game.

    That was a really good example. I have witnessed cheating players too in my time, for example players who drew three "Seven" cards at once out of nowhere.
    But one of the worst things I experienced was a few weeks ago at a play-meeting at a local hobby store. The guy I played against was really good and knowledgeable, so I thought that he knew his stuff. But that particular thing bogged me until I finally got my answer. Let me tell the story:
    So that guy summons all his strongest beaters while I only have my Shadoll dragon facedown on the field and my sinister shadow games in the backrow. Before he attacks he activates his Phoenix wing wind blast and targets my face down dragon. I chain to that with my sinister shadow games, sending a shadoll monster to my gy and flipping shadoll dragon face up. Then the chain resolves and normally his Phoenix wing wind blast sends my dragon on top of my deck. No biggie. But now he tries to attack me directly and I was like "no wait, my shadoll dragons flip effect resolves now and I target one of your monsters that gets returned to the hand." and he was like "no, you can't do that because you can't resolve the effects of monsters that have already left the field." And I was kinda irritated and argued for that trigger effects always resolve if they have been activated. It's like when a raiza monarch targets your opponents card to be returned but then gets banished with bottomless. By the time his effect resolves, he is no longer on the field. But his effect had been triggered, so it doesn't simply disappear. But my opponent didn't listen. He came up with all kinds of arguments, like that I had to read the fast effect timing rule or read the public knowledge rule which had absolutely nothing to do with our situation. Lastly I tried to find an answer on the internet and found one on a forum on pojo.biz. But THEN he argued that I couldn't trust american websites because there are rule differences between european TCG and american TCG. And I was like "WHAT?? what are you talking about?" I tried desperately to get some validation of other players sitting next to us but they thought he was right. In the end I let him have his way because I was sick of arguing with him. But later on when I did my research I found out that I had been right all along. Talk about players who argue in order to be right!

    I remember once that my best friend cheated to try to win the duel. He was at 100 lp and I was at 4000. He had slifer obelisk and ra in his hand and they were the ones that did not state an effect. I was relatively new so I didn't know about the one normal/ tribute summon per turn, (but I still upheld it as I saw it in zexal). My friend then proceeded to say that the gods could be summoned from the hand by simply paying half your life points. He was then down to 25 lp and had all three gods on the field. He then proceeded to win the duel by saying slifer could attack directly with 5000 attack points. Only two weeks after that duel did I find out the god's effects.

He had to much backrow and cards like Heavy Storm and MST were somewhere in my deck and my field was to good for him to overcome. Since he used a lot of cards with draw power in his deck, his deck starts to shrink more and more. But he tries to hide some hand movement, where he puts card from his Graveyard back in his deck over and over, just to stall me out. I have a deck that has a 50% chance of doing a Norleras/phantom of chaos move on the first turn. The deck was originally a lightsworn deck but quickly changed when I saw the potential of the combo. It has no traps and a ton of spell cards for drawing which allows for fluid access to the the mentioned combo. The deck also has a more than fair amount of high level monsters level 8, but that is counteracted by the draw cards like trade in and hand destruction. The deck has a very low probability of giving the user a dead draw, let alone two straight ones. One time at a regional said deck was doing fine; I power shuffled every time and didn't get a single dead hand. My next opponent was seemed legit at the time, playing constellars. I let him "cut" my deck. Then I draw and my hand comes up dead; all high level monsters that can't be used and a phantom of chaos with no spells in sight. Needless to say I lost that round. But here's the kicker, I drew nearly the exact same hand for the second round. This guy had stacked my deck. I tried calling his bullshit with a judge but all the judge could do was issue him a warning citing that there was no evidence. Ever since that day I watch my opponent's eyes when he, or she, handles my deck. When someone cuts or shuffles my deck then they can't look at it. I also learned to shuffle and look away at the same time.

While shuffling my deck he was doing it in a weird way but it looked legit at first but he slowed down and started looking really closely at his shuffle which was odd. I try to not look while shuffling to be fair. I get my deck and I had a ton of high mana attack cards with barely any land cards. I thought okay I got a bad shuffle, got a few low units but he had gotten his hits in before I got to my land cards. After it was over I looked at my deck and nearly all my land cards were on the bottom. Half the lower deck was basically land. That would be like shuffling a deck and getting all red cards on bottom with all black on top. It's impossible.

    Not sure if you'd call it cheating since it was unintentional. I was dueling a guy whose deck was a mix between beatdown and burn, we were both at less then 1000 LP I attacked a set monster with my E-hero nova master and it turns out the set monster was marshmellon whom has an effect that inflicts 1000 points of damage if he flipped by an attack, so I negated marshmellon's effect with "effect vailer". It wasn't until my next turn in which I drew "monster reborn" played it and as I was searching for E-hero lady heat hoping to finish him off with her effect I noticed that effect vailer's card text mentions "main phase" so I read it in full, as it turns out effect vailer can only negate effects during the opponent's main phase, so I told my opponent about this and we both agreed that he won.

      that would be soft cheating. or cheating where a rule is broken but neither player notices (or at least claims not to). hard cheating would be things like drawing extra cards, stacking your deck, manipulating life points etc

    I've had several people try to use super poly as a ' take any card and get your desired monster onto the field kind of effect. I also play people who think it's okay to steal any card they defeat in the middle of the duel.

    when I still played DN I went up against a burn player. since I was just getting back into the game I played a blue eyes deck. I went up against a burn player and I summoned azure-eyes silver dragon(2500 attack), I attacked into a face-down blast sphere(attaches to monster then destroys at stand-by for original attack burn), I had around 2000 LP. When my SP came around he said "eff"..... I the copied azure-eyes' effect:
    "When this card is special summoned: Dragon-type monsters you currently control cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects."
    some people will notice I "forgot" to put "until the end of the next turn" at the end there. In other words i should have lost.
    My opponent didn't and rage quit.
    I don't even feel bad because fuck burn.

    I was in a bubble beat/ hero beat mirror match. I had a face up Alius and 2000 life points left, he set everything and normal summon his bubbleman and special summoned another into blade armor ninja for game. After the game I asked him to reveal his back row to me, but he refused. I talked to his friend who was watching the game, and he told me he set a Ehero voltic in the back row.

    Happens more often than you might think! Especially prevalent among the "pro" duelists. I encountered three such duelists at our nationals. One was attempting stacking, one was attempting to activate and resolve (happened several times) negated effects and the other was trying to feign ignorance of the rulings and use cards incorrectly. They way they implemented these techniques was very sly. Obviously it was not the first time they had attempted these "tricks".

    Had some guy tell me that I couldn't switch my fire hand from def to attack and then attack with it. He was saying that since I switch it to attack I had to wait a turn...then he told me I was dumb because he had a masters in engineering...at least I could read the rule book...

    This is why I don't play IRL anymore- it bugs me soo much when "I forgot you had a field...two turns ago- let's just forget about it!", happens.

    Friend tried Synchro summon with 2 non tuners that equaled higher than the level of that monster, on top of that he needed a specific syncron monster
