While Tifa's original VA will always have a special place in my heart, I have to admit that Britt's voice fits Tifa more and she has actually become my favorite VA for Tifa.
Cloud is not an easy character to bring to life. I think it's easy to make him too moody and flat. Cody doesn't just nail it, he delivered my favorite vocal performance in the first game.
His insecurity playing the role in the first game (disc), to becoming more confident in himself for the second is so par for the course for Cloud. He's an absolutely fantastic pick. I think this being his first real voice acting role was super appropriate and really added to his performance as Cloud.
You mean grunting for no reason and delivering terrible dialog? I realize the dialog isn't his choice, I just wish it wasn't so corny. It breaks the immersion.
They all do such an amazing job in their roles. It's crazy that this was Cody's first ever voice acting role because he truly did a great job. The casting chose the actors perfectly for these games.
I would only disagree with Zack's new VA. Caleb is trying and making improvements, but... he's still got a long ways to go. Everyone else is fantastic.
Best voice cast ever assembled in a single game. The bar for fans was SO high. Everyone had imagined voices stowed away in their heads for 22+ years, and somehow this cast has satisfied just about everyone. I had always thought in decades past that it would be impossible to pull it off. But they did it.

The cast and voice directors have done such a fantastic job with the Remake series. There are so many ways this could have gone wrong and everybody is just knocking it out of the park. Looking forward to more in part 3.
You know what i noticed, they are all dressed similarly to their characters. Specifically Matt, Cody and Brit. Brit is dressed like Tifa. Matt is dressed in red like Vincent!! So cool, what a great detail and panel!!

My dad got a ps5 for christmas and im currently playing the remake for the first time 😊❤ It has been such a fun experience, cant wait for the sequel. The cast did a great job

Not only are they so well cast, they're all doing such a great job. I love these characters and they're really bringing them to life in a way that just feels right. Kudos to everyone involved with the voicing!

Man cody really does get cloud. Cloud's trying to play a role. The stoic soldier and he's always trying to act like he thinks a badass soldier should. But really he is a caring vulnerable brave guy, and you really see his inner child poke through. He's a character that was forced to grow up so fast and yet as you go through the game you slowly start to see the real cloud and his much more like an innocent boy like he was in his childhood. And the hard cold hearted soldier facarde starts to melt away. And he becomes a true leader.
So, the only ones missing here are Aerith's, Cid's and Cait Sith's VAs. I can't wait for when all of them will be together in one panel eventually. For now, this is still pretty rad. Also, Matt Mercer is stacking legendary role after role. Leon S. Kennedy (Resident Evil), Levi (AoT), Law (One Piece), Jotaro (Jojo), Yusuke (Persona 5), Goro Majima (Yakuza) and, now, Vincent Valentine. What an absolutely ridiculous career. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy ❤.
Having played the game and gotten to the part Cody Christian was talking about at 27:10, I'm so glad to hear what he had to say about it, because when I got to that part, I was wondering "what was going through Cody Christian's head when he was recording for this part?" It's... definitely a surreal moment...

I probably put 500+ hours into the OG FFVII as a teen and when I read those text boxes with character dialogue in my head each character had their own voice... These actors have absolutely captured all of those voices, and that is testament not only to the writing of the original game which implied tone and mood through small blue boxes and clunky animations on chibi characters, but the skill of these actors for perfectly becoming those voices without ever consulting with a gamer about "how the characters should sound".

It's a shame they Don't all record together and they seem kinda disappointed they don't too from past interviews so I hope that changes in the 3rd game but the main thing is the Voice acting is actually incredible so I guess it's not that big of a deal
It’s noticeably better in rebirth. It wasn’t bad by any means but something about the voice direction clearly has changed as there is far more natural inflections and flairs in the conversations. There is less pauses between lines aswell. The actors also seem to have far more comfort with what their version of the character is meant to be. It’s pretty hard to explain but you can hear the difference if you listen to them in sequence. There are a lot more memorable dialogue moments this time.
Cody‘s youthful, boyish but raspy, hurt voice conveys Clouds state of mind perfectly. Especially this calm, soft almost talking to oneself kind of speaking
I cannot wait to get to Rebirth, but I am finishing remake first. And I cannot believe I recognized the voice actress for Aerith before she even came up!!
