Cait Sith is originally a figure from Scottish folklore, so it really fits. Most dubs don't give Cait Sith an accent, even though his strong accent makes his speech stick out compared to other characters.

Yuffie went from near the bottom of my favorite characters to top 3 easy. She's a great character, with amazing voice work and animation work. Also DAMN Cloud has a deep voice in the JP version.
His OG English VA had a deeper voice, too.
Takahiro Sakurai has been voicing Cloud since 2002. He’s engrained as Cloud in my brain, when I think of Cloud’s voice I think of Takahiro Sakurai
I thought she was a blast to play as in Rebirth, they did the elemental ninja just right 👌

Its amazing how they match the characters lip movement to both languages
Apparently they use AI tech to do mouth movements, which is a brilliant way to use AI.
@@KanrielInteresting. Sounds easier for the dub team than the old way. Animated to the original language and the translation is tweaked to fit the mouth movements.
@@DarKit-hu7yrI'm surprised more games don't use it. It automatically does the mouth movement based on the sounds produced by the voice lines. Amazing tech.
Saves them a whole lot of time and a whole lot of money. They don’t need to do mocap for dialogue. Just the moves

Yeah i was surprised he was scottish but it works.
What doesn't work is changing Red's voice into this cutesy little twink voice after making him sound exactly how he looks idc how canonically old he is. No wonder his species died out. They live too long. Makes a species evolve limited reproductive urge and capacity - like Pandas and the Galapagos tortoise. Biology wise it makes no sense for the vocal chords of an animal commensurater with a wolf or a mountain lion or a mix of both would have that high pitched of a voice.

yeah ima be honest he grew on me and was UwU and OwO more wit hthe pup voice - id still rather have it slightly more bassy cus it just doesn't seem like a large predatory animal like that would have that high a voice, he may be a child in comparison to their lifespan but he's still a giant cat/wolf thing, and if a mountain lion or a wolf growls - and if it could speak, it's pretty deep and has a lot of bass in it, so that bothered me that that wasn't consider, you can make him sound younger without making him sound like he is like 8 xD
Either way it doesn't botrher me anymore - im even using him in place of Cloud for my New Game+ play thru. He's not as easy to use tbh but he's a solid tank. @@mr.hooligan7630

Of everything, I think the greatest is they even match the mouth movement of all these hours of voice acting. I love the attention to detail from the creators. From little details from their universe to the hole in the ears when a character isn't wearing earrings. Wow! :)

I know him from a Minecraft roleplay called My inner Demons on UA-cam.He plays one of the main characters named Leif.I'm so proud that he got to play Roche.

Paul tinto didn't do bad at all for his first voice acting gig. In fact, he made cait sith much more likeable here than he's ever been.
I can see where they've used the mocaps for the faces. Definitely saw a mix of east and west face details there and I never knew they've made it possible.

But it’s not exactly mocap, it’s an AI that you put the performance in and it will do it for you and you can edit a bit

Yeah, love how the entire Japanese VA cast got to reprise their roles but they fired the entire English VA cast who have been doing the voices for about 2 decades in favor for new hires who just copy their performances.

I’ve always listened Japanese VA versions. I’m glad SQUARE ENIX hired the new cast because this is the first time for me that I didn’t get cringey about English performance (I’m bilingual). They don’t sound they’re speaking what was translated (thus unnatural) but talking their own lines. Translation team did a great job -- though there are some lines that are totally different from the original nuances, it’s interesting to analyze why so from the sociological or cultural standpoint.
Amazing cast, they can be really proud of their work and the final result. I don't understand Japanese, so I can't judge it as well but I'm very sure that they're also outstanding. I know these characters since over 25 years and wasn't unhappy with a single VA choice. I think that counts for something as longtime fans do have high expectations!

The Japanese voice of Tifa's is nice gentle, but the English version is a bit old, （The voice of these two versions of Tifa is very different.）😮and the English version of Cloud voice sound like a boy who just woke up.😂
The ones that blew my mind was hojo’s voice being the cabbages guy in avatar the last airbender and Glenn’s voice being eugene from Hey Arnold. So funny to hear them portraying these now much darker characters in this game. 😂

Sephiroth VA being Griffith in Berserk, Heidegger also Bender in Futurama, Claudia Strife being Satsuki in My Neighbor Totoro, along with the Ranma 1/2, Akira, Segata Sanshiro, Cowboy Bebop, JoJo's, Dragon Ball, The Dark Knight and Sonic references were some that were really fun to find out!

Eng Sephiroth has always been voiced by actors who played Superman (with the expection of the Lance Bass aka worst Sephiroth voice ever even though he is the 1st English voice lol)
Back on topic, George Newbern the previous VA of Sephiroth is actually the voice of Supes in the good ol’ childhood classic Justice League: Animated Series and of course the recent Sephiroth voice, Tyler Hoechlin who portrayed Supes in the recent Superman & Lois TV series
It’s like English Sephiroth is destined to be voiced by Superman actors only and none other, making Sephiroth an evil version of Superman, which in a way he kinda is

I have been always a fan of japanese dub and play in japanese if I can but in this game and remake, the english voice actors made a incredible performance that oblige me to play it in english. Evidently the japanese voice actors are always good.

Well, they had a good model. The OG Gnglish voice actors who have been voicing the characters since Advent Children, like the Japanese VAs. Until they were all fire for no reason. The new hires literally copy everything from them
