Tip: When removing the center channel grille, be sure to get your pry tool all the way under the grille panel. The metal grille stops right at the edge, so if you try to pop it off using the metal grille itself, it will just bend and likely won't be 100% repairable.
A few tips I’ve figured out. You can’t have Bluetooth on if you’re using Apple CarPlay otherwise you get no sound from Apple car play. If you was a different boot image forget using a USB. Just email the image to yourself then open it with the email app you use on the head unit and you can download it from there. When installing check for function prior to tucking in all the wiring and bolting in the unit (glad I did this as I had a loose plug and it didn’t work at first). It’s kind of a pain to get it to connect to a hotspot but if you have it plugged into a USB it’s way easier (not sure why) and finally if you decide to sell the unit delete all your stuff on it. I bought one used and still had their Netflix HBO Amazon video and hulu plus an None password protected Amazon app. All of which still has valid billing info I think. I did delete everything
I have a Gen II and the audio has stopped working on it. Everything else seems fine except the audio output. It made a ticking sound then just stopped. I checked all the connections and everything seems OK. Amy suggestions please.

I bought a gen 4, on eBay and come with can bus for the super duty, I have a f150 2018, I found here a canbus can fit on the plug, after installation ac, 360 camera, wheel controller are working perfectly, but when I play some audio only the little central speaker sound, no other speaker sound, can please help me to fix it
socaliguy81 they are no longer part of the harness. They were used on different application on earlier versions. We have since changed our manufacturing on them.
Great video. I plan on picking this kit up for my 2015 in the future once the holidays are finished killing my fun-money finances. Is there any way to customize the UI of the system such as interface color (I like my current red themed everything) and a way to change the start-up backgrounds? I just like the option of changings things as often as my mind does.

With having overlay screens its not as simple as just changing a background images or icon colors. I know this question is one that gets asked a lot so we may be able to offer something in the near future but nothing currently.

You don’t need to go into the advanced settings any longer. Go to settings/System/Settings Guide/Car Model AC. Then follow the pages. There is step button step instructions available on our website as well.

That's a strange one.... Any other devices in the truck? Are all the plugs in the correct spots? Sounds like either an issue with CanBus or a physical wire is shorting on run
Hi, I have a quick question. Can I adjust the outside temperature? It shows 107 but actually we have 97. I understand that the temperature comes from the vehicle, but the screen shows the wrong temperature. It's 78 outside, but it shows 90. When I had the original screen, I didn't have this issue. The same issue is with HVAC temperature settings. It doesn't show the correct temperature. Kindly advise.

Guillermo Jr find the orange wire on our main power plug that is 1 pin in from the corner. That should be a remote turn on. Splice into that wire close to the side of the plug that plugs into our radio.
I have a 2016 Fusion Energi. It has all the PHEV programming built into the MyFord Touch system. Is this same programming/information and crontrols available in this system?
Louis Koerner only set up we have that would work in the 06 is our Universal Double Din 10.1”. Does all the same stuff except the climate control interface. To install you would just need the installation kit and harness adaptors for your truck and it would install like an industry standard double Din radio. Since this radio doesn't work with the ford sync and no satellite radio , so will this radio work with the factory restart which depending on the temps outside . will this turn on my heat or cool for seats or the heated steering wheel or the heat a/c in cabe of truck.
We have not tested the "Restart" feature, so we cant say for sure about an automatic vehicle restart. We are able to do 90% of the factory remote start features. We can control both the heated and cooled seats as well as the heated steering wheel.

Luis P. Not currently. Integrating the factory mics offers up some issues, one of which is quality control on our side. It has been talked about but as it sits right now it’s not on the to do list.

Bobby Heimer they are. But the trucks without a CD player have the exact same radio module it just doesn’t have the CD slot and the internal parts for the CD player. But the radio chassis is still there. As are the same main power plugs.
@@fx4den540 Steering wheel functions still work with this product. My navigation is now 12.1 full screen in the provider I choose to load up. You have the ability to load apps directly onto the unit. I have Google maps loaded, multiple nav apps, weather channel, etc. As far as music, I did lose sirius..However I now have Pandora, Spotify, etc as well as tons of fm radio presets. It also has a 4 channel amp built in, so my stock speakers (to be upgraded next) now sound better as well.

What front camera? Factory or aftermarket? There is no way to change the back ground page from your iPhone. You can change the launcher which will change how the home page looks and then you can do back ground pictures. But they would have to be on a USB. The radios are set to move files off a phone like that.

Did you finally get your tuner issue fixed? I can't believe that I spent $1,100 on a unit that you guys shipped out to me knowing you had an issue with the tuner. Mine worked about a week before the tuner died. This shows how much Linkswell cares about it's customers.
Very sorry to hear you feel this way. We didn't send out units knowingly that they would fail. We really strive to take care of our customers as best as we can. We had an influx of tuner failures that all came in a relatively short time (About 3-4 weeks). We had units that were a week old, others that were 9+ months old. There was no common line in production time. We then went through our entire production line to try and find a flaw in production, but we weren't able to find any production issues either. We went through our software over and over again to see if it was a software issue, to find no problem there as well. We asked questions with our customers to see if we could find a common thread in how the system was being used, or if there was a common thread in outside forces, like vehicle trim, or different electronics in the vehicle. To find no common thread there either. Our Engineers all stopped all work on other projects to figure out what was happening with these tuners. We reached out to our supplier for the tuners daily looking for answers and no one was able to explain what was happening. A month later we still do not know what caused these tuners to fail, nor do we know why it was that about only 10% did. The only common thread was the tuners themselves. So all we could do at that point is change our source and purchase a different tuner. Which is what we did. Our lead engineer spent 3 weeks replacing the tuners in all our stock and our factory is now producing new systems with the new tuner. Once again we are very sorry that you were effected by this issue. We hope to earn your respect back in how we rectify the situation.

I just had one installed about 2 weeks ago. The issue i'm having is I have to reset the time & everything else whenever I turn it off & back on! The place I had it installed is a 3 hour drive from me so I haven't had the chance to go back. Also, navigation only work on Carplay, it says no GPS installed when I try using GPS apps on the unit!
So the clock resetting is because you need to set the time zone for the Android radio. So if you go to settings --> More settings --> System --> Date and Time. Then be sure you turn off all the "Auto settings" then set the time zone, don't worry about setting the time, just set the time zone and that will fix the time changing. With the "No GPS" what apps are they and do you have the radio connected to a Hot Spot source?

LinksWell Inc. I’ve tried Google Maps & Waze both. On my home screen the navigation icon doesn’t respond at all. I have to go into my app list & pick one or the other but neither works..
Mr. Mont. interesting. Is the Nav antenna installed? Is the radio connected to WiFi when you try? Have you tried since you fixed the time? Also to route the Nav icon go to setting and the first page in settings is where it will route the Nav icon. Which ever one you select will be what opens when you press Nav. If it still isn’t responsive. In settings go to the icon with a single gear and make sure the feature “Local Nav” is turned off. Then try the icon again.
@@Npizzola420187 warranty is 1 year. You can pay to have Navigation built in, or you can use the Navigation on your phone through Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Or you can use a hotspot and do a data based navigation on the radio itself.

Well we do not know all the specs of the other companies product. We also do not want to build our name up by stepping on the name of others. So sorry to hear that. The B&O system is a digital system that requires an extra interface and harness. It took us a little but we now have a B&O interface now that will work for the GEN 2. Unfortunately we cant support the same for GEN 1 due to the limits of the CAN BUS interface on the GEN 1.
Hi, I have a problem when I installed the screen after a week, the seat heater became operational even if the car is floating and within 6 hours the car battery is empty and I cannot start it again .... Is there a way to avoid this problem ... Thank you
Lee davis well the idea is that wouldn’t happen. We are however looking into adding some physical button for this and other reasons. Our GM system has physical buttons and we got such a big response on that we are working on adding them on other systems as well.

LinksWell Inc. it’s the generation 2 for a 2019 Ford F-150. You sent a black microphone with a foam pad and what literally looks like an auxiliary plug (male) there’s no RCA port it fits in and directions are non existent. In the video you say be sure to use it but never show where to plug it in
I have been doing research on this product and like what I see. Unfortunately, I have read where these units are not Sirius Satellite Radio compatible. Has this changed or is there a plan to change this?
We have been working on developing a Sirius tuner, and are waiting on Sirius to approve us. We are stuck until they decide they want to sell us the remaining lock files we need to make the tuner work unfortunately, it is now out of our hands and we just have to wait. In the meantime the Sirius app works in our CarPlay/Android Auto app or you can use a hotspot and install the Sirius app to the system and run it through the tablet itself.

I have also checked in my area, the San Francisco Bay Area and I have yet to find anyone who does these installations. @@CJS309 If we can get our design approved there will be a separate tuner needed to that will have to be installed and plugged into the USB of the system. As for our location we are actually located in Southern California in Ranch Cucamonga. But I know we have some dealers up in the bay area when you are ready we can get you hooked up with one.
SiriusXM is proprietary and you have to control their tuner and go through their development process. We have been working through this development process for about 3 years now. I posted an update video last month that we are really close. Generation 5 has all the parts needed physically so once SiriusXM approves our interface our Gen 5 radios will get an update to activate the components to run their tuner. I can’t give any more specific timeline because we have no control of it. It’s 100% in SiriusXM’s hands.

Your 360 Camera probably needs the 360 Camera retention module. Apple CarPlay has to be connected to the USB marked Phone link for Gen 4&5 for Gen 2 you need the white USB dongle.

Adam pen this unit won’t. We are beginning the development process to go back a generation in the Ford. But it is months away. But for 2004-2008 I think that one could use one of our Universal 10.1” Double Din T-Styles

Improved from the GEN 1? Not really. The GEN 2 platform runs the same Android platform which is what dictates how quick it can boot up. It does it with a faster processor and much better CANBUS interfacing for the car. As well as a huge upgrade to the climate control interfacing as well. Takes away the need to disassemble the factory climate control for factory parts top swap over, and we redesigned the bezel to accommodate 3 switches across the top for the higher trim level trucks. Our GEN 3 platform offers a "Sleep" mode which gives a quick boot up if its restarted within 16 hours of shut down. But we haven't decided if we will build the F150 (or other vehicle applications we currently have on the GEN 2 platform) on the GEN 3 platform. We may jump to a GEN 4 for all applications. With GEN 4 the sleep timer leaves, due to a higher Android platform, but the boot up time we hope to get down to around 10 seconds. Boot up time is tough, even our cell phones take a bit to fully boot up from a complete shut down and our radios run on the same style platform. Just part of what happens when building on Android platforms, it functions different then a standard radio platform, good and bad, its a computer so needs to boot up, but because its Android you get the Google Play store and all that Android has to offer. But we promise we are working hard on making our units the best they can possibly be.

There should be a yellow plug that has all the amp RCAs on it. It will also have a 3.5 female to plug the microphone into. Then that plug plugs into the back of the radio in the corner under the black one with the camera inputs.

I dont have 360 cameras but i have one camera on the tailgate and one on the third brake light on the cab.. none of them are working at the moment. Also the phone link is not working? I have this Gen 2 on my F-150 and half the time my steering wheel controls don’t work. For the life of me I can’t figure out what causes it to work one second, and not the next. This is extremely disappointing and have been scouring the internet for a solution. Tried calling customer service for Tech support, and they don’t bother trying to help.
Our tech support is staffed to help our dealers. We depend on our dealers to help their customers…. We do offer our UA-cam and Social Media pages as a way to try and help bridge gaps. So we do our best. Do you have any extra devices on your truck. Like a tuner, or a start stop bypass. Something that is inside the trucks CanBus?
@@LinksWellInc I bought the truck used and it had this device installed on it by the previous owner. Ergo, I unfortunately am not able to contact the dealer where it was purchased, as I don’t know where it was from. There is nothing additional on the truck. I was literally just driving right now, and trying to use the steering controls, and it would not respond. Had to try and press the tiny little volume control on the top right of the screen to turn it down while driving, which is more dangerous than texting while driving IMO as i have to reach across the dash trying to hit a button the size of a nickel on a 12 inch screen. Then, during the same drive, the steering controls responded and turned the volume back up. A few seconds later, again unresponsive. The issue here is the inconsistency or the functionality.
@@MikayelS so there may be an issue with the buttons themselves wearing out. If the resistance isn’t correct due to wear it will either not register correctly or it may do the incorrect thing. Does it matter what source you are using? Do all source do the same thing?
Our system is made up of as lot more components then just the tablet. There is all of the radio parts, the climate controls and all the vehicle CANBUS interfacing. So if we were to get the bezel to you installing a simple tablet wouldn't do all the interfacing required. It would leave you with no Climate Controls at best.

SouthMemphis M45 currently there aren’t any issues on the Ford that we are working out. We had a manufacturing failure with our FM tuner that would look up the FM radio, around a month ago but our supplier has fixed the issue and so that issue is now resolved. Outside of that our GEN II has been working great. As for up and coming. We just finished up our 360 camera retention module and that will be available for purchase in the next month. As for a next Generation. We aren’t working on anything new for this vehicle currently. The only possible shift would be a new UI (User Interface) meaning the screen layout with the icons and such but no new unit currently.

So l lose sync,l lose Sirius xm,l lose my CD player ,l get an old OS ,don't know if blis works,starting to question if it's worth it
That what I thought too. It's over 1k but it canceled a lot of things. Like CD player, they still have space under the screen to leave it in.

You probably have the B&O audio system that needs a special adapter.

That's a strange one.... Any other devices in the truck? Are all the plugs in the correct spots? Sounds like either an issue with CanBus or a physical wire is shorting on run

Not yet, but the install is 99% the same. Only difference is the USB plugs and the fact that GEN 4 has HDMI in and out.
Hi, I have a quick question. Can I adjust the outside temperature? It shows 107 but actually we have 97. I understand that the temperature comes from the vehicle, but the screen shows the wrong temperature. It's 78 outside, but it shows 90. When I had the original screen, I didn't have this issue. The same issue is with HVAC temperature settings. It doesn't show the correct temperature. Kindly advise.
That is actually something we will have to have our software engineers look into. So we are looking like its a 10 degree off reading?
@@LinksWellInc no, the gap can be different. For instance, the current outside temperature is 91, but the display shows 107.

Installing a sound system in my truck with this radio. Question is where do i hook up my blue remote wire on the radio side?
Guillermo Jr find the orange wire on our main power plug that is 1 pin in from the corner. That should be a remote turn on.
Splice into that wire close to the side of the plug that plugs into our radio.
Does the ac come back on if the truck is turned off and later cranked or will I have to manually turn it back on?
Charles Gordon it will restart where it was left at when you turned off the truck just like the factory set up.

Not currently, we are working on getting the solution for the different climate controls on that truck.
I have a 2016 Fusion Energi. It has all the PHEV programming built into the MyFord Touch system. Is this same programming/information and crontrols available in this system?

Louis Koerner only set up we have that would work in the 06 is our Universal Double Din 10.1”. Does all the same stuff except the climate control interface.
To install you would just need the installation kit and harness adaptors for your truck and it would install like an industry standard double Din radio.

I have this in my 2018 f150 and it's a little frustrating because I listen to music through the bluetooth and it constantly cycles through aux and video mode interrupting the music playback. Any fix for that?
Joe sounds like it might need a MCU and APP update? Could be the steering wheel control protocol that is acting up. Have you contacted our Tech Support team and walked through any updates?

Since this radio doesn't work with the ford sync and no satellite radio , so will this radio work with the factory restart which depending on the temps outside . will this turn on my heat or cool for seats or the heated steering wheel or the heat a/c in cabe of truck.
We have not tested the "Restart" feature, so we cant say for sure about an automatic vehicle restart.
We are able to do 90% of the factory remote start features. We can control both the heated and cooled seats as well as the heated steering wheel.

Luis P. Not currently. Integrating the factory mics offers up some issues, one of which is quality control on our side. It has been talked about but as it sits right now it’s not on the to do list.

@@LinksWellInc so the cables coming out of the back of the CD player, for those who have them, aren't important in the connection process? I was worried that those were main power connection cables from the truck's main harness.
Bobby Heimer they are. But the trucks without a CD player have the exact same radio module it just doesn’t have the CD slot and the internal parts for the CD player. But the radio chassis is still there. As are the same main power plugs.

@@fx4den540 Steering wheel functions still work with this product. My navigation is now 12.1 full screen in the provider I choose to load up. You have the ability to load apps directly onto the unit. I have Google maps loaded, multiple nav apps, weather channel, etc. As far as music, I did lose sirius..However I now have Pandora, Spotify, etc as well as tons of fm radio presets. It also has a 4 channel amp built in, so my stock speakers (to be upgraded next) now sound better as well.

What front camera? Factory or aftermarket?
There is no way to change the back ground page from your iPhone. You can change the launcher which will change how the home page looks and then you can do back ground pictures. But they would have to be on a USB. The radios are set to move files off a phone like that.

What if you have the built-in Wi-Fi Hotspot on your F150 Does this still work do you lose the hotspot feature
The hotspot will stay, but the accessing the info and passwords is no longer available. We have no way of getting that info onto our screen.
I have a gen 3 for my 2015 Silverado, has worked great for me so far. However is it possible to upgrade storage space or is it possible to store and run applications off of an external hard drive?
Jesus Batista you cannt run apps off the external hard drive but you can use a superset hard drive for memory of movies, music and files.
Did you finally get your tuner issue fixed? I can't believe that I spent $1,100 on a unit that you guys shipped out to me knowing you had an issue with the tuner. Mine worked about a week before the tuner died. This shows how much Linkswell cares about it's customers.
Very sorry to hear you feel this way. We didn't send out units knowingly that they would fail. We really strive to take care of our customers as best as we can.
We had an influx of tuner failures that all came in a relatively short time (About 3-4 weeks). We had units that were a week old, others that were 9+ months old. There was no common line in production time.
We then went through our entire production line to try and find a flaw in production, but we weren't able to find any production issues either.
We went through our software over and over again to see if it was a software issue, to find no problem there as well.
We asked questions with our customers to see if we could find a common thread in how the system was being used, or if there was a common thread in outside forces, like vehicle trim, or different electronics in the vehicle. To find no common thread there either.
Our Engineers all stopped all work on other projects to figure out what was happening with these tuners. We reached out to our supplier for the tuners daily looking for answers and no one was able to explain what was happening.
A month later we still do not know what caused these tuners to fail, nor do we know why it was that about only 10% did. The only common thread was the tuners themselves. So all we could do at that point is change our source and purchase a different tuner. Which is what we did. Our lead engineer spent 3 weeks replacing the tuners in all our stock and our factory is now producing new systems with the new tuner.
Once again we are very sorry that you were effected by this issue. We hope to earn your respect back in how we rectify the situation.

Ray Gomez the GPS cable is needed for both the built in Nav and the Data based Navs. So it is needed.

What is the time frame for the public to lnow when the system will work with the ford sync program?
We aren't doing any work on designing a system to retain the factory SYNC system.
I just had one installed about 2 weeks ago. The issue i'm having is I have to reset the time & everything else whenever I turn it off & back on! The place I had it installed is a 3 hour drive from me so I haven't had the chance to go back. Also, navigation only work on Carplay, it says no GPS installed when I try using GPS apps on the unit!
So the clock resetting is because you need to set the time zone for the Android radio. So if you go to settings --> More settings --> System --> Date and Time. Then be sure you turn off all the "Auto settings" then set the time zone, don't worry about setting the time, just set the time zone and that will fix the time changing. With the "No GPS" what apps are they and do you have the radio connected to a Hot Spot source?
LinksWell Inc. Thank you, that definitely fixed the clock situation! As far as the GPS goes, yes I have a hotspot device that is mounted in my vehicle & correction, it doesn’t say “no gps installed”, it “says no gps connection.”

LinksWell Inc. I’ve tried Google Maps & Waze both. On my home screen the navigation icon doesn’t respond at all. I have to go into my app list & pick one or the other but neither works..
Mr. Mont. interesting. Is the Nav antenna installed? Is the radio connected to WiFi when you try? Have you tried since you fixed the time?
Also to route the Nav icon go to setting and the first page in settings is where it will route the Nav icon. Which ever one you select will be what opens when you press Nav. If it still isn’t responsive. In settings go to the icon with a single gear and make sure the feature “Local Nav” is turned off. Then try the icon again.
Does this replace the factory apim that always goes bad?
Yep! We replace all the SYNC parts.

or you can use the Navigation on your phone through Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
Or you can use a hotspot and do a data based navigation on the radio itself.

Well we do not know all the specs of the other companies product. We also do not want to build our name up by stepping on the name of others. All we can tell you is the feed back that we have received from customers, but to boil it down simply, we are based in the US. So we ship from, test in and do our product development here. Giving us an advantage in how well we can service our customers and be sure our products work the best. Most the other companies do all their R&D over seas and ship from over seas. Which means you do not have live customer, or technical support and you have about a 6 week turn around on delivery.
We also offer features they do not, one of which will be our new factory Ford 360 Camera full function retention interface set to release this month. We also are able to retain things like factory remote start and other features. Our CANBUS system allows us to do more then most of the other companies out there.

Will this work with the B&O sound system ? I bought a GeN 1 and am stuck with it because it does not support the B&O system.
So sorry to hear that. The B&O system is a digital system that requires an extra interface and harness. It took us a little but we now have a B&O interface now that will work for the GEN 2. Unfortunately we cant support the same for GEN 1 due to the limits of the CAN BUS interface on the GEN 1.

Lee davis well the idea is that wouldn’t happen. We are however looking into adding some physical button for this and other reasons. Our GM system has physical buttons and we got such a big response on that we are working on adding them on other systems as well.

LinksWell Inc. it’s the generation 2 for a 2019 Ford F-150. You sent a black microphone with a foam pad and what literally looks like an auxiliary plug (male) there’s no RCA port it fits in and directions are non existent. In the video you say be sure to use it but never show where to plug it in
Kevin O'Brien the yellow plug that had the RCA outputs on it will have a 3.5 mm plug for the microphone.
I have been doing research on this product and like what I see. Unfortunately, I have read where these units are not Sirius Satellite Radio compatible. Has this changed or is there a plan to change this?
We have been working on developing a Sirius tuner, and are waiting on Sirius to approve us. We are stuck until they decide they want to sell us the remaining lock files we need to make the tuner work unfortunately, it is now out of our hands and we just have to wait.
In the meantime the Sirius app works in our CarPlay/Android Auto app or you can use a hotspot and install the Sirius app to the system and run it through the tablet itself.

@@CJS309 If we can get our design approved there will be a separate tuner needed to that will have to be installed and plugged into the USB of the system.

When will your product work with sirius/xm
SiriusXM is proprietary and you have to control their tuner and go through their development process. We have been working through this development process for about 3 years now. I posted an update video last month that we are really close. Generation 5 has all the parts needed physically so once SiriusXM approves our interface our Gen 5 radios will get an update to activate the components to run their tuner. I can’t give any more specific timeline because we have no control of it. It’s 100% in SiriusXM’s hands.

Your 360 Camera probably needs the 360 Camera retention module.
Apple CarPlay has to be connected to the USB marked Phone link for Gen 4&5 for Gen 2 you need the white USB dongle.

Adam pen this unit won’t. We are beginning the development process to go back a generation in the Ford. But it is months away. But for 2004-2008 I think that one could use one of our Universal 10.1” Double Din T-Styles

Has the startup time improved? By how much?
Improved from the GEN 1? Not really. The GEN 2 platform runs the same Android platform which is what dictates how quick it can boot up. It does it with a faster processor and much better CANBUS interfacing for the car. As well as a huge upgrade to the climate control interfacing as well. Takes away the need to disassemble the factory climate control for factory parts top swap over, and we redesigned the bezel to accommodate 3 switches across the top for the higher trim level trucks.
Our GEN 3 platform offers a "Sleep" mode which gives a quick boot up if its restarted within 16 hours of shut down. But we haven't decided if we will build the F150 (or other vehicle applications we currently have on the GEN 2 platform) on the GEN 3 platform. We may jump to a GEN 4 for all applications. With GEN 4 the sleep timer leaves, due to a higher Android platform, but the boot up time we hope to get down to around 10 seconds.
Boot up time is tough, even our cell phones take a bit to fully boot up from a complete shut down and our radios run on the same style platform. Just part of what happens when building on Android platforms, it functions different then a standard radio platform, good and bad, its a computer so needs to boot up, but because its Android you get the Google Play store and all that Android has to offer.

We do not have one for the 2014. Our system starts at the 2015.

Where do I plug the mic?
There should be a yellow plug that has all the amp RCAs on it. It will also have a 3.5 female to plug the microphone into. Then that plug plugs into the back of the radio in the corner under the black one with the camera inputs.

New issue. I have a 2019 f250. I dont have 360 cameras but i have one camera on the tailgate and one on the third brake light on the cab.. none of them are working at the moment. Also the phone link is not working? Any advice would be wonderful
@@jameschambers7862 how did you change between the 2 cameras with the factory radio?
For PhoneLink you have to make sure are using the USB marked PhoneLink.
It could be where the plugs are plugged in as well. If you email me at jon@linkswellinc.com a picture of where things are plugged in I can see what is happening.

We do not. Only the 13-14 and the 15-20.
I have this Gen 2 on my F-150 and half the time my steering wheel controls don’t work. For the life of me I can’t figure out what causes it to work one second, and not the next. This is extremely disappointing and have been scouring the internet for a solution. Tried calling customer service for Tech support, and they don’t bother trying to help.
Our tech support is staffed to help our dealers. We depend on our dealers to help their customers….
We do offer our UA-cam and Social Media pages as a way to try and help bridge gaps. So we do our best.
Do you have any extra devices on your truck. Like a tuner, or a start stop bypass. Something that is inside the trucks CanBus?
@@LinksWellInc I bought the truck used and it had this device installed on it by the previous owner. Ergo, I unfortunately am not able to contact the dealer where it was purchased, as I don’t know where it was from.
There is nothing additional on the truck. I was literally just driving right now, and trying to use the steering controls, and it would not respond. Had to try and press the tiny little volume control on the top right of the screen to turn it down while driving, which is more dangerous than texting while driving IMO as i have to reach across the dash trying to hit a button the size of a nickel on a 12 inch screen.
Then, during the same drive, the steering controls responded and turned the volume back up. A few seconds later, again unresponsive. The issue here is the inconsistency or the functionality.
@@MikayelS so there may be an issue with the buttons themselves wearing out. If the resistance isn’t correct due to wear it will either not register correctly or it may do the incorrect thing.
Does it matter what source you are using? Do all source do the same thing?

Our system is made up of as lot more components then just the tablet. There is all of the radio parts, the climate controls and all the vehicle CANBUS interfacing. So if we were to get the bezel to you installing a simple tablet wouldn't do all the interfacing required. It would leave you with no Climate Controls at best.

SouthMemphis M45 it is not built in. It requires some sort of hotspot. Either your phone or a Mobile one you power on through your vehicle.
LinksWell Inc. ok thanks, can you honestly tell me what are the current potential issues with the Gen II System (if any) and if there is any updated versions in the works.
SouthMemphis M45 currently there aren’t any issues on the Ford that we are working out. We had a manufacturing failure with our FM tuner that would look up the FM radio, around a month ago but our supplier has fixed the issue and so that issue is now resolved. Outside of that our GEN II has been working great.
As for up and coming. We just finished up our 360 camera retention module and that will be available for purchase in the next month.
As for a next Generation. We aren’t working on anything new for this vehicle currently. The only possible shift would be a new UI (User Interface) meaning the screen layout with the icons and such but no new unit currently.
