- For just one week, we will be filming, editing and posting a vlog a day to show you what it is we get up to in a normal week at the medieval Chateau de Rosieres - our beast of a French castle and estate. From the remarkable to the mundane, follow the passage of our week exactly as it unfolds.
It's Tuesday and we are all struggling a bit after Clement was ill all last night. But it's another beautiful day, there's an auction to attend, animals to wrangle, and stones to move. And of course we live in our own little corner of paradise, so how could we not find time to smile?!

As I sit here alone in my little apartment, in the city, awaiting the lock down to be once again lifted, I glory in your lovely lives. Being outside in such beautiful surroundings, with birdsong and rooster crows, nursing bunnies and teaching babies and carrying heavy water tanks, I thank you from the bottom of my heart that you are doing a week of ordinary daily living videos. They are charming in their simplicity and ambiance and bring a smile to my face. Well done!!

Amy and Marc, I am really enjoying seeing the variety in your daily life. I loved the dry stone walls, marcs workshop...well, I just loved it all. Poor little baby, i can see he is unwell by his eyes 😥, but glad as the day went on he had improved. I use to hate it when one of my babies got poorly. I have been taking care of 150 horses now for 20 years, I know that if you treat them like gold, they will treat you like gold. I love dry stack walls, landscaped for years...3 things, if you are in cold weather, a light sprinkle of cayenne pepper in your shoes keeps you warm, when it is hot, put ice in your hat
I Think maybe that Maple is too close to the wall, the roots will run under it & imbalance or topple it. Just my opinion but I've seen the damage with them too close to sidewalks.

The historical informational about the dry stone wall was interesting. Good to hear Clement is better, the rabbit’s health has improved, and that Marc didn’t have a 100kg hot water system fall on his open toed shoes (as a viewer, this part was quite suspenseful). I just loved Clement’s expression watching you stroke the turkey. It’s good to see that Clement and the rabbit are on the mend. You must all be exhausted. Take care.
So enjoyed this vlog Amy and Marc. We know what its like with animals living on a farm. We have over 100 chickens, ducks and geese and 3 peacocks, plus cats and dogs and yes when they're poorly they do come to bed!!! So glad Clement is better and loved his raspberry blowing when you were talking about the auction!! Looking forward to the next vlog. Stay safe. x

Loved this video! So varied and showed lots going on at your chateau. Michelle is lovely, wonderful he's work there since the 70's, so polite and hard working! I enjoy these updates of all the work going on, always busy at the chateau!
I have never seen anyone sit with a turkey on their lap and I grew up in a farming community. Goals 😊

Would it be possible for Marc to share and demonstrate his unique Quiche recipe that your family had for lunch on the previous video? I saw that he cooked it on parchment paper. The way some folks learned it here in the states was in a pie pan, well that’s at least how my mother did it, but I’m quite interested in his method, how he kept it all together. Thank you.❤️

When the water heater almost fell off the hand truck I literally jumped to try to catch it...through my phone screen. I guess I've watched my husband in such situations one too many times . . .

Take it easy... There's a rule, especially when rebuilding. It's ok to wake up, throw on work clothes and throw your hair up. Poor little Clement, teething is awful. I used to put a quarter of chilled peeled apple in an old pair of opaque tights, tie off the end and they can chew away without you worrying about choking. They sell a fancy version in Mothercare. Thanks for a lovely vlog, what a treasure your neighbour is, you should record him talking about the history. All the best 💖
Hardwood dolly pegs; boil in water for 7 minutes or so with a few cloves. Put in a sterile container and freeze. Great teething 'ring'. NB HARDwood... not a softwood. 🥰💝
Frozen chips are brilliant 🙏 for teething.

Yes, our friends who tap their trees always said they needed at least three. One mature tree might yield a couple of liters of syrup.

We have a bunny as well 🇨🇦. This is a resource recommended by our vet: House Rabbit Society, from 🇺🇲. I know UK has a good one also. So glad he's on the mend and hope you get to know and enjoy both bunnies as much as we do our little Frodo!

I can't imagine how hugely frustrating it must have been when you first began living at the Chateau and you didn't have a man cave set up.you must be so much more organised with your stuff nowadays.how wonderful to have all that space,too.bravo Marc et Ignat.
Your big ♥️ heart made me like this video and sign to your chanel. Like you I have never had rabbits as pets , but 4.5 years ago a friend gave my daughter a rabbit , he brought it from the meat farm. We really didn’t know what to do and how to take care of the rabbit. But we fell in love from the moment we saw him and there is no way we were going to give him back to be killed at the farm. He was white with ruby blue eyes New Zealand Albino. The most amazing , smart and loving bun. He slept with us , he always had to be under the blanket my arm wrapped around him, his head next to mine and always with his head on the pillow. He knew every member of the house . He knew a lot of words. Especially “Snack” and knew where his snacks were. He was cage free and litter trained . He lived with us for 4.5 years but 4 months ago we lost him due to a severe ear infection. Since oral antibiotics didn’t work , Me and my husband ( mostly myself) had to give him a lot of injections in hopes of saving his life. I was terrified and I have never given any injections to anyone or ever, i would faint of seeing a needle (LOL) I wasn’t experienced at all, but for my bunny I had to do it with tears in my eyes , every time I had to poke him. Even-though my husband like yours - had given many injections only to people since he is a 🦷 - he would be terrified to hurt our bunny. But when he saw me struggle with intramuscular injection - of course he would step in . We tried very hard for 6 months, since nothing worked he had an ear surgery which made everything worse, we couldn’t save our beautiful bunny boy PUFF 🐇. We still cry over losing him. In Puffs memory I will spread my love for rabbits and began donating to various Rabbit rescue organization ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
I hope you can spread the word - and maybe one day people will stop using rabbits in laboratories and raising and killing rabbits for meat and fur - these beautiful bunny angels deserve to live and be loved 🙏🏻🐇♥️✨

On our acreage in Canada our kids favourite spring activity is setting the taps and making the syrup. You just need a few more and your grandkids will have the best memories at your place!

I set up nesting boxes and fake eggs to get the chickens to lay in them delayed letting them out .

Another brilliant vlog. Really pleased to see that Clement was looking brighter and the bunny survived. We had a little diabetic dog and I had to inject him every morning for 10 years. I found it really difficult and never ever got used to it, I still couldn't watch when Marc injected your bunny! :) :) xx

I think Louis Hamilton Bunny and his friend are adorable. I have had three rabbits. One, Clarence, lived until he was twelve. Your rabbits might like a little shade and water while they are outside. A light board and sturdy bowl would be perfect. Your blog is lovely.
