How did you do on the tests? Did you pass them both? Fail them both?

right leg was ok, no compensating. the Left hip was injured 8 months ago and I fail the quad test on that side, I have to bend sideways to compensate . :( I am thinking that some Pt and other health care professionals I have seen have not fully addressed these muscle imbalances and wonder why I still have some issues........

I get a cramp in my hamstring when doing the first test, lifting leg up behind me.
It's an ongoing issue, I'm not sure how to fix. I've read it can be related to the glutes not activating correctly, but it remains a bit of a mystery how to resolve so I'm not on the edge of cramping my hamstrings when doing this or similar movements.

But all the "professionals" wouldn't make their money out if you, would they?
That is the underlying problem in health care.
Healthy people are not patients but only patients provide money.

Since I have started doing this stretch at least a couple of times each day and while the pain hasn’t completely disappeared it has reduced significantly and I believe will be eliminated on another month or so. I had chronic lower back pain, finally got an MRI turned out I had two crushed discs in my back. Luckily I had a government job with good insurance, it only cost me $1,200 for a $400,000 surgery and two new artificial discs...Now I can move without pain, it's fantastic. I do several sets of deadlifts twice a week with good form to keep the muscle built up around the lower spine...

Hi Matt, I am recovering from my 5th back surgery. The doctor diagnosed me with disk degeneration disease in the L section of my spine. I've had several fusions & at one time had a titanium rod put on my spine because it was thinning. This last surgery I had in 2021 I've had the WROST time recovering from. My muscles and nerves from the middle of my back all the way to the tailbone STAY in so much pain! I am LESS mobile now than after any of the earlier surgeries. Every time I do simple, & I mean simple stretches that night I scream in pain & MUST sleep with a heating pad. I don't need a fluff answer, I need to know if your back stretches can HELP or am I doomed to ALWAYS remain in 7- 9 range pain daily??? Thank you for answering.

I am not sure how to fix a curve in my lower back, there are like 5 bones there that are slowly buldging out in the back, with th lower one already pinching my sciatic nerve. Tried physiotherapy, aquatherapy, cant do spots because my heart is to small to be highly active, so thats difficult to get around. They gave me cortison directly to the one thats buldging to make it retreat, tho that didnt really work to well. Just constantly feels like the nerve getign rubbed. I am super flexible, doing Fitnesstraining, as much as i can do, and all they tell me is " you dont lack flexibilit,y youlakc strenght" Its hard to build up strenght when it hurts or when the exercise gets to exhausting because my heart just cant pump enough/fast enough. Thats depressing

At 15 months went for a road run, a day later had horrible sciatica. Low back feels great, right leg is on fire. Only relief is lying down. Used to be able to put my palms on the floor. Tissue work & pin stretching (squeezing/pinning a chunk of muscle and then stretching while pinching it) on my chest and arms. Pinning and breaking up tissue where your bicep and shoulder meet and where your tricep and shoulder meet. Also, manually working on the tissue on my first rib (this is dangerous). I did hours of tissue work on my clavicle and pushing down my first rib with a tennis ball at first and then my hands. Now my muscles are relaxed and my pain is 95% gone after 1.5 years. Also listen to Dr. Sarno for the "mental" component of chronic pain.
