In my 2019, I don’t have to remove the glove box, only the dampening cord, and the glove box will fold down to the floor. No need to remove it completely.
Good for you. But American carmakers are a 💩show lately and are assembling cars even for the same trims differently. Mine didn’t go down with just pulling the string off. I actually had to remove the fastening clips.
My 2021 Chevy Colorado ZR2 did not require full door removal. You squeeze the sides of the door (inward both sides, or one at a time) in and two pegs attached to the door can then slide past and out of their slots to allow the door to swing open completely (hangs straight down). Even easier (no need to remove the hinge-pins; door opens all the way). Otherwise, Thank You for the great video--helped me know how to start!
I bought a 2018 Chevy Colorado a couple months ago back and I just changed the cabin air filter today.Get this, the dampening chord was never in its place it was rolled back to where it winds up
People that are complaining that this is hard, probably shouldn't be working on vehicles. This is hardly anything compared to a lot of modern vehicles. Many of the perceived inconveniences here are the result of better functionality overall (smooth opening and closing glove box that doesn't rattle and doesn't cost $400 to manufacture for instance). Yeah changing the engine air filter in my 97 TJ is much easier than replacing the engine air filter on most other cars, but it also doesn't have cruise control or heated seats😂
Damn we have to remove the glovebox entirely for this. In my Tacoma I could replace the filter in 30 sec. This still isn’t too bad but it’s more tedious than it should be
It's very tedious compared to my Sienna. Like your Tacoma I can do it in 30 sec. I just did the Canyon and it was at least 5 min. Those pins are a bugger to get out.
my goddamned 21 z71's damper bungie was missing completely (trust me I checked up in the cavity to the right of the air filter. I was always a little surprised how quick and arubtlly that glove box would go down when my wife opened it. Didn't do a thorough enough inspection at the dealership when I bought it last summer lol
Same here bought new in 2019 first time I replace it and I had no dampener cord as well little shocked reached all around inside to no avail I wonder if it’s a luxury feature
Please report any safety issues with a 2020 Chevrolet Colorado, because I have one & Portfolio or GMC not answering to repair my rear differential under insurance or any term,I paid the Truck for few years 35,000 and I still own,25,000 and it's my only transportation and they don't care about me walking to work for 30 minutes to 1 hour under the heat of Arizona to go to work to continue paying my Auto loan !!! having Portofolio extended Guarantee

Followed your instructions for a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and it worked perfectly, exactly as shown here. Nice job, and thanks!

Also, no dampening cord on mine...just the pegs to squeeze out of the way. Thanks!
Exactly. This guy clearly struggled with that. 😂

How often do you have to change it?

Thanks for the help!
I’m done with the odor of exhaustion in thee we cabin!!!!! Dealer changed the filter for a good amount of money and made no difference 😢
2017 didn't have to remove the cord, only took out the 2 pins and the door came in.
sorry door came out
$120 at my dealer. My 8 yo helped do this haha.😂
They purposefully make it somewhat tedious so they can charge you 500% of what the filter itself costs

Hooray, another opportunity for me to break more cheap plastic clips
struggling
Missing valuavle information. Had to search for another
You can't see how to take off the dempener.
What a crappy design. My Honda and Kia vehicles are 10 times easier to replace.
Absurd how difficult it is to remove the glove box
The air filter is worse
