John, you could simmer the blueberries down until they turn into a paste. That will make the flavor stronger and much more easier to pour. Just a thought, my friend! Mike
Thanks for the tip!
John I think I would add lemon juice or extract it always increases the flavor maybe instead of water or in addition to the berries
Thanks, I have decided to add extract. I can't remember the brand off hand but it is the one that others have suggested in the comments.
This made wonder about chocolate covered cherry pie balls.
I bet cherries would be really good too. Add a little almond extract? Yum!
I think my kids would enjoy making these. You did great!!! Thanks for sharing, John. I appreciate all of your efforts more than I could ever say.
Thanks so much
May want to try blueberry pie filling or something along those lines. Looks good as always!
Thanks
LorAnn oils has a blueberry flavor extract. loved the video now I have to convert it to gluten free and go find the strawberry one lol. thanks John love your work.
That is the brand I ordered after filming. I have it now
Love the lite blue sugar on top....beautiful 🌻
Thanks!
John, I have enjoyed finding and learning from your videos. Have you tried pureed peaches for peach pie balls
no i haven't but sure sounds good!
We are just in blueberry season, here in Michigan. I may give these a try!
Lard is meat based, not vegetable. 😊
Thanks, meat based unless you buy Crisco vegetable shortening. My bad calling it lard just that is what grandma always called it. LOL
Put blueberries in jar cover with vodka let sit for a few weeks… your own extract
Had the same problem trying to flavor my granola with blueberry flavoring. The wife says they sell blueberry oil for candy making. Try LorAnn Oil Super Strength. Just got done doing a 10 lb load of pineapple for the grand daughter. She loves her fruit.
That is the brand i ordered
@@JohnInBibs If that's the case, does anyone else have a solution?
Try Batko Flavors, they have a huge array of flavors and they are good quality. I suggested this 8 days ago but also added a link which I think UA-cam blocked.
Hi! I’m going on a road trip and want to freeze dry some fruits & veggies for snacks. What bags would you recommend? I don’t need super long term storage for them, but I don’t want them to get soft either. Thanks!
I really only use the meal pouches anymore. I would recommend a mylar pouch without a clear window. I would choose single serve sizes as fruit will absorb moisture quickly from the atmosphere, that way you can open only what you are going to eat. Definitely include an oxygen absorber. I know it is an extra expense but it really helps your fruit keep fresh. For short term you don't have to use the more expensive 7 mil thickness bags but do be aware that the thinner ones are prone to easy punctures. I hope this gives you an idea where to start.
Hi John, spent most of my morning going through your videos trying to figure out where you purchased those large round silicone molds so I didn't have to bug you to ask. But I was unsuccessful. Can you help? (P.S. ordered your snack and treat book today!)
Thanks for your support. They can be found in my Amazon Store (link in description) but here is the Affiliate link. I earn a small commission on qualified orders. (note, I cut these in half to fit in my freezer better and also note that you MUST add extra dry time, they are very thick disks and require much more dry time) amzn.to/46f3wgL
@@JohnInBibs Did you use the disks for your blueberry balls and key lime balls?
@@shannonmorehouse6341 sorry, no I used the balls also in my store they come in a big sheet that I cut in half.

@@JohnInBibs that was the tray I was looking for! Ordered! Thank you so much.
Im sure you can make blueberry extract with vodka.😉🌻
Just curious - where in the country do you live? (We live in the humidity capital - Florida).
Oh I remember the Florida humidity when I was stationed at Homestead. I live in MO now
Thank you so much for the new recipes. I have both of your books now, and I am slowly working them. Yum!
John do u think it would work ok if you blended 3/4 blueberry and 1/4 gramcrackers together
I think that would work fine, I was looking for the pie filling on pie crust texture.
@@JohnInBibs i see thanks for the fast reply
Would you add the link for the silicone molds that you use for these?

Maybe if you picked the blueberries, maybe more flavor?
