john love your stuff. not sure if you see a primary but I would encourage you to see your doc or a neuro about that shake. if you catch somethings early, it ends up better in the long run. never thought about this cheese, thanks for the video!
Thank you so much for your concerns, I talked to the doc a couple of years ago because I have very bad memory forgetting the most common things. They ran tests and one of them was to hold my hand out to see if it Shaked which it did. But the doc said it was psychosomatic or something like that. Which I looked up and that means basically I was making it up. Oh well that is the VA for you. I will mention it at my next appointment that my viewers are noticing it now. Happy Thanksgiving.
Thank you John! This is a wonderful video. It gives me a lot more confidence in trying this food in my freeze dryer… I especially appreciate you sharing the rehydration method… Happy Turkey Day!
I freeze dried a stinky Taleggio and another soft rine cheese. I was afraid they would go bad since nearing their expiration dates and still had a lot left . So, chopped them up and added them to a blender with water and made a soup consistency then freeze dried. They both came out like airy cheese puffs☺️. The puffs were stored in a mason jar ( since only wanted to extend time to eat). This cheese was added to eggs or pasta etc. Freeze drying made taste more pronounced. I lasted a few months before I ate it all. Thanks for video! I will try this cheese next time.😊
This option looks great to me! My co-workers buy Laughing Cow cheese for meetings and yes, definitely a learning curve on getting them unwrapped. But it's a nice little cheese and I'm happy to know that it works so well for freeze-drying. Thanks so much for sharing this experiment and have a wonderful Thanksgiving! 🧀😋👍🦃
Well, the phone is reading my mind again... i had a babybel cheese for snack day before yesterday and wanted try fd them, and up popped this video 😂 I was going to slice the thickness in half. Now i need to get some laughing cow to go with my babybels. I like fd cheese slices for a snack cracker and hadn't thought about turning it into a spread. Yum! Great idea, thanks John. And Happy Thanksgiving.
Nice job John. Maybe I missed it but how was the cream texture compared to pre freeze drying? I am thinking about trying this. Wondering if reconstituting with milk would have an impact on the creaminess of the spread? Going to have to experiment as well.
Not sure if it was him or some other youtuber, I remember 7 mil thickness and from freshpackusa. I use them too, they are pretty sturdy. Just keep it around 7 mil. I don't use pint sizes, they are very useless. I typically buy 2 quarts.
I wanted to not comment on all your videos but it’s not easy to ignore. You said you freeze dried these “last month” but the date on the Mylar says ‘11/24’. Either the date should be 10/24, or you should have said ‘earlier this month.’ Since today is 11/22/24, I know you didn’t freeze dry these and travel back in time. Anyway, I now need to go get some Laughing Cow cheese, I’ve had these before but couldn’t ever eat them all before they went bad, or eat them all at once given how ‘heavy’ they can seem. Into the freeze drier they will go!
My bad, you are correct, it was close to the end of last month LOL, anyway like I always say people see what they want to see, if they are looking for mistakes they will not be disappointed. For me I try to see the good things in life, like how well you pay attention to my videos, thanks (i think)
Just used my freeze dried sharp cheddar to make almond flour cheese garlic biscuits. Handy way to keep cheese when you live deep in the country.
Nice!
Such great recipes! I do enjoy your channel.

I really didn't compare it, sorry
Where do you get your mylar bags? I looked on your amazon store but didn't see them listed there.
