I finally find a video that is outstanding in showing how its done! Others dont explain exactly let alone show close up steps of how to do so even the singer company video dont show it this well I thank you so very much for this I only wish found your video long before my frustrating battle. All they needed to do really was to make a notch in the plate to slip the thread through an a area below that part of that thread would lay in for when the needle would come down it would be right in line that way no matter what.

You explain things so well and repeat for us craft challenge people and now I’m using my machine and as soon as I’m comfortable I’ll graduate to a real machine and back to your videos!! Please help im having a hard time catching the tread under.
Does the green wheel on top of the machine just keep turning or does it stop and you have to turn it in opposite direction? My daughter's machine will only turn so far by hand then stops. I think hers was returned because someone broke it. She didn't have an instruction book and some of the pieces we have seen in videos are not in the box or the storage compartment. And both her bobbins were pre-threaded when she unboxed it. She is going to exchange it

I done all of these steps and I think it catches the bottom thread but after a couple of times turning the hand wheel, it gets jammed. Every single time and I can’t figure out why 😭

Which zipper foot can you use with this sewing machine?
Not compatible.
No matter what I do, mine won't catch the bobbin thread. I don't know what to do.

@@myownthriftythoughts6038 I am able to get the bottom thread up by using the little threading tool, but it won't stitch. I re-threaded the bobbins, changed the needle, redid every step. My machine will not stitch or catch the bottom thread on it's own.
In this case the tension may be too tight. Loosen your tension. Here a list of troubleshooting steps that my help:

@@myownthriftythoughts6038 I messed with tension too. Maybe mine is just faulty...
Be sure the thread is just over the tension disc and not around it. Also, The best result to threading the SSQ ➕️ is with the presser foot up. This opens up the tension disc.

Do both threads need to be in the needle?
The needle thread (which is the thread needle) and the bottom bobbin thread is separate. They are to be pulled back to begin sewing.

Are you pulling the bottom thread through the eye of the needle?
