Dankeschön, das war eine grosse Hilfe. Die Firma SINGER müsste dir etwas zahlen, weil du alles so gut und langsam erklärst! Vor allem das Sichern des Fadens am Ende des Nähens! SUPER!

Tech angel, thanks for the demo. Just a note: before threading the needle you should thread the eye on the bottom side of the arm that moves up & down, which will help pull the thread along as it goes up ‘n down.

OMG I purchased my stitch sew quick back in January of this year and I didn't know how to use it. I'm a beginner sewer, I became frustrated and just boxed it up. Today (8/25/17) I decided to blow the dust off of it and give it another go. Because I you I figured out how to thread the needle. Let's just say you're the reason why I'm on the way to Walmart to buy up fabric and start some projects this weekend!!!!! Thank you soooooooo much for this video my personal life saver 😊 love from Atlanta, GA and a new subscriber

  • @toots1641

I just purchased this at Walmart for making simple stitches around borders of paper craft embellishments. I don't have a sewing machine and did not want to purchase one for the sole purpose of sewing on embellishments. I read the instructions for re-threading this machine but I just didn't get it (and I am a technical person so instructions are important to me) so when I found your video I finally got it. I must be a visual learner lol.. Anyway, thank you for taking your time and effort to post this for us. Don't know if it will work on cardstock but at least I can now try. Thanks again.

    • @elsieb3176
      @elsieb3176 6 років тому +2

I just tried it on card stock - works well. I also held it between my knees, turn on the switch, and guided the card stock through so the line was straight...and you can do curves as well. Just don't expect perfection. I got this at a thrift shop with the idea of using it on paper projects.

I love my quick stitch machine got it at Joanne's Fabric store for like $20. It saved alot of me and my daughters clothes that would have gotten thrown away otherwise. It's cute and easy to carry a d use. I had no sewing machine experience prior to this. Nice to hear of so many guys sewing with this machine. Read about them in the comments. Suzy

My wife and I have owned this for years. Neither one of us had much sewing knowledge (although I got an A+ in home ec 25 years ago, lol). Whenever we used this, we could never get a tight stitch or even one that wouldn't pull out. Your tutorial is amazing! I'm a maker, machinist, woodworker, etc. And the only thing I've wanted to do that I can't easily is sew sometimes!. Thanks so much for saving our little machine!

Thank you for taking your time and effort to post this for us. It is nice when people (like you) post videos when you actually know what you are doing... versus...
... I dont understand people who post "unboxing videos" or people who make/post a video of the first time they are doing/using something and they are clueless to what they are doing. What is their objective? They show nothing useful. Why dont they wait until they have done it a couple of times?
I also like your style of getting to the point... no useless long introduction and no dumb back gorund music.
Thank you to all people who make/post "to the point", useful, helpful videos with no distractions or pounding bass beats and/or sounds/songs which 76% of the people watching will not like.

As a dude who hasn't touched a sewing machine in 20 years since grade 7 home economics class, I really appreciate this tutorial. The manual that ships with this thing is garbage. And this is coming from a guy who finds IKEA manuals make total sense, so I don't exactly have high standards.

Excellent demonstration. Your step by step instruction on this product was the perfect motivation to use this for projects I really need to get started on. I definitely see the value of using this sewer for the going purchase price, because I really do not need the bulk of a practical full-size machine, so I am thinking of buying another one handheld one soon. I had a handheld machine years ago, but don't know what happened to it and I only used it once. It has been so long since I used one of them until I would have to start over again like I am with the regular sewing machine I just purchased new and have to get the supplies, material, and thread for. Maybe the local sewing store will have a handheld machine in house and I can buy it and use it to do patch work when needed using it. I like the demonstration of how to setup this Singer brand and use it.

Great explanation. I picked up one for 1.99 at Goodwill yesterday but no manual. Being a non sewer (but having watched Mom as a kid) I had no idea that sewing could be done without a second thread. Also showing how the batteries go in helped because the usual idea of a battery bottom towards a spring and tops towards a tab does not apply here for the bottom two. Mind is missing the bobbin post but I think I can make something. Also missing the tension part but I have some ideas for there as well.

This gadget makes a "chainstitch" similar to factory seams. Not very strong, but as you say, pull the thread from the back and knot it and it won't unravel quite as easily. Very easy for temporary sewing, both to stitch and to remove!

I bought one a few hours ago. Curious to see what I can use it for. The manual today is well written just the drawings are odd. Don't know what older manuals looked like that people had so much to complain about them. It also says after the tensioning plates you got to guide the thread through the loop on the underside of the arm before going through the needle.

Thank you for the video! I just bought one and the stitching came apart. I couldn't understand why until you said to pull thru the last loop at the end 😊😃❤️ Viola!

I have one And I actually like it works really good And get things done so don’t judge the machine by the negativity on the comments you should try it yourself that’s what I did and I really like it And I wish I never read those comments because they get me nervous when I bought it ! And this is wrong

Thanks for your well filmed and detailed video.I realized that the bobbin spring was missing. When I try to use it, the thread becomes loose from the needle and it becomes unthreaded. Not sure if the bobbin spring is the cause? I wouldn't think so. Neat little sewing machine with a good deal of force to make easy stitches and quick little fixes. If I could only get it to quit unthreading! After putting the cloth under the plate, the thread is towards me, on top of the plate, not underneath the plate like in your video. Any thoughts?

Very nice demonstration. Do you think this would be able to sew two pieces of velcro together?

Hmm.. Perhaps, if it's lightweight Velcro.

I had one hand held sewing machine & it didn't work so I got rid of it. But now I thought I would try with another one. This time it works I looked on You Tube to have them demonstrate on how to use it. Because sometime they're not clear on explaining the directions to me.
