Ashley: I flew through the second half of the book
Me: ah yes, you experienced the Sanderlanche 😌
For real tho, Brandon Sanderson really does have a way to weave every thread he has placed in a way that makes it IMPOSSIBLE to put the book down

I finished this book last week. It was sooo good. Sanderson has the ability to shock your system with amazing plot twists. He can make you like a character you hated before and make you hate a character you liked. I was a mess😅

Vasher's convoluted explanation of BioChromatic theory was because he was one of the five scholars and has thoroughly studied the subject, so he naturally speaks very technically about it. I think it was supposed to sound a bit confusing since Vivenna didn't really understand either.

I would recommend starting the stormlight archives! There are a few tie-ins from warbreaker. I didn't notice them until oathbringer, but it might have started sooner.

The Warbreaker tie ins actually start in Way of Kings! They get way more obvious in Words of Radiance, though!

🤞🏻Bear with me, this is a rant of me appreciating Sanderson's books and writing. I haven't even finished the whole video, I had to pause to express myself. I don't expect anyone to read everything unless you read the first paragraph and it caught your attention as a Sanderson fan. SORRYSORRY.
I really liked War Breaker. I didn't even know what it was about before I picked it up, I knew I had to read it before The Stormlight Archive and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Brandon Sanderson is so good at writing characters, he knows how to write women and men, and I don't come across high fantasy books written by men who can write women respectfully and realistic as Sanderson does. He also knows how to write banter, I've laughed out loud reading a lot of the dialogue in his books. I wonder if he has a ghostwriter or if Sanderson is really that good at writing.
Elantris was the first book I read by Sanderson, I think. It's been a while now, but I remember really liking Elantris. The way he writes magic systems, world buildings, and characters is absolutely amazing. The plot in his books may feel dragged and really slow-paced at times, but it's bearable because of how easy and fun his characters are, the world-building never disappoints me, and the magic system is really well thought out and complicated - but explained well. The politics seem real, he writes the perspectives of "right" and "wrong" characters realistic unbiased, he knows how to write about wealthy privileged people and the opposite. He kind of touches upon things happening in reality in his books, personally I think he does it really well and carefully, but not too obviously.
I've read Elantris, War Breaker, The Final Empire, The Well of Ascension, The Hero of Ages, The Alloy of Law, and The Way of Kings so far. I'm currently reading Words of Radiance and things are coming together where I'm at the book right now. I'm excited to read the rest. I've read a few of the novellas/short stories in the Cosmere Universe as well.
The Final Empire, The Hero of Ages, War Breaker, and maybe Words of Radiance are my favorites so far. The Way of Kings, The Final Empire and War Breaker have really good quotes about wealthy people etc. I think all of his Cosmere books do.
I need to reread Elantris when I've caught up with the whole Cosmere Universe (I have 4 books left excluding Words of Radiance), so I might pick it up after finishing them.

This was my first Sanderson book and i loved it. I was a bit annoyed with all our POV characters at first, but by the end, all four were some of my favorites. The twists and turns left me out of breath, in a good way. I think this magic system is a bit overshadowed by the mistborn magic systems. That’s maybe because it’s a little bit softer. But it’s just so cool.
I’m pretty sure there’s a sequel coming, but maybe not in the near future.
If you wanna try a different side of Sanderson. Maybe try skyward, which is a YA sci-fi. Or the Rythmatist, which is a YA fantasy. The latter isn’t talked about as much, which is understandable, but I recently read it and really enjoyed it. It has a pretty cool magic system too

There are also a lot of changes, for example, Connor’s ghost is in this, but it isn’t in the musical, and Evan tries committing suicide a second time, but if you haven’t watched any recordings of the musical or haven’t seen the musical, you probably didn’t know that he tried committing suicide once... unless you’ve read the plot somewhere.
