Gotta say Vampire Julia is really doing it for me
I was JUST about to ask: is it weird that I find Vampire Julia EVEN MORE attractive than regular Julia? No, right? Definitely not weird...

Annette has never gotten anywhere near close to the credit she deserves for her contribution to nightwish. She is always sidelined by tarja and floor. Its ridiculous because she has buckets of talent.
Her studio work is extremely well regarded and her albums are huge sellers.
She just didnt have the stage show abilities that a nightwish show should have.
@@jasonfields2793 Exactly. The main problem of Anette was that Nightwish is a live band, but she is no good live singer. She is fine in the studio but live she was a disaster most of the time. Very often off pitch and absolute no stage presence.
Exactly, I think that Nightwish fans have a expectation of what good live sounds like so when it came to Anette and she exceed or meet their expectations, they threw her away.
@@redfielduniverse The first time i saw them live on TV with Anette it sounded to me as if the whole band unlearned playing properly, she really dragged them all down. I even really liked some songs from the first album with her, i loved "Eva" even since it was a bit untypical, but that live concert, she really killed it, and not in a good way. And after that i was more or less done with Nightwish until 2013 somebody told me that Floor is their new singer and posted me a UA-cam link from the Wacken concert.
Oh i must maybe add that before that "From Wishes to Eternity" was a DVD i absolutely loved and still love today.
@@beldin2987 But that's what I mean. You had an exception going in. But when Nightwish sounded different, a lot of people claimed it was bad. It wasn't bad, it's just very different. Tuomas said that he wanted Nightwish to sound different and not like Tarja which is why he picked Anette. He liked how she sounded live, if he didn't he would have gotten rid of her way sooner than he did. But regardless, it's your opinion. She's doing great on her solo stuff and The Dark Element. It's all preference but that is what I've seen fron the NW community and from what they've said. I personally like Anette's era the most but you are entitled to your own opinion.
I loved Vampire Julia going from Transylvanian to Ozzie to British. Shes been all over the place in her 1003 years.

It’s Nightwish. Floor, Tarja, Anette, all part of the band in different times. Tuomas wrote incredible music around each vocalist. I Like all of them. I like Anette on certain songs, like Amaranthe, Storytime. Just as I prefer Tarja on some songs. Floor is incredible, and can sing the whole catalogue. But all the women are good.

Annette was such an immense change I think it caught nearly everyone off guard in the fan base at the time. I think if people are honest now almost 20 years later it gave us some truly amazing and very different music. Scaretale, Slow Love Slow and Meadows of Heaven are so different from what came before and helped the band grow and mature, from stage to Jazz to gospel it was a very inventive time in the bands history and whilst some did not like the change those 2 albums are still my two favourites even though Floor is my favourite of the 3 singers and Tarja was whom I became invested in the band with. Tuomas is a genius :D
Slow love Slow is perhaps in the top three songs from Imaginarium.

Yes, yes, YES!!! So glad you chose this one - we really do need more reviews of the Annette era. She's different from what we're used to with NW for sure, but worthy nonetheless. This band has never had a *bad* lead vocalist. Period. Also, I have to agree with others here...your Vampire Juila look is S T U N N I N G!!!
While Floor is my favorite Nightwish vocalist, Annette sang on my favorite Nightwish album (Imaginaerum). Her voice is very suited to this kind of spooky carnival vibe.

My favourite song from "Imaginaerum" album. It's very difficult to find another better song for Anette style. This song has power, scary topic, symphony, epicness, and yes, Anette is singing like a cartoon witch and I think maybe there is no one to make it better. The music is a pure masterpiece full of epicness "Made by NIGHTWISH".

Scaretale is definitely one of the very best songs that resulted from the Anette Era. Only Song of Myself beats it on Imaginaerum, I‘d say.

Funny reaction :) - I liked a lot Anette and Marko in this one. Anette seems to be playful, not afraid of throwing herself in a character. (I have always though she was a very brave girl when she - as a Swede - joined NW - a Finnish band after Tarja.)

I love Floor, but still my favorite Nightwish album is Imagenerium. Wacken live is so special for me because of Floor can do every era of Nightwish and sound quality for the live is an amazing.
No she can't, some songs sound terrible when she sings them, like nemo or amaranth.

Vampire Julia! Just Wow, awesome! :) Great to see you hitting this track from Imaginaerum. People that only hit the Nightwish live versions really miss out on the context of the track within the album it comes from, especially a track like this and the story weaved through the story of the album. As you talk about a lot, Anette changes her sound to play the character and I think people sometimes use this as criticism against her instead of how the sound she used was intentional for the songs/album. Great reaction as always!

Incredibly informative, as always. Vampire Julia is amazing, especially with the more ostentatious accent, and if Vampire Julia wasn't actually half-cut during the filming of this video, she certainly did an excellent impression at times, which only added to the whole effect. Any half-cut Julia would be especially entertaining, I feel.
The crucifix-shaped burn was an epic touch. Half-cut Vampire Julia needs to make more regular cameo appearances to add colour (mostly red) to the presentations, and some on-screen tension between the various Julias could be a great dimension to add to some of your analyses. The fangs also helped exaggerate the enunciation, although when the delivery of technical information became more detailed, the Bris-Vegas accent came to the fore and the effect was lost a little, but the visual aesthetic was absolutely stunning - hair, nails, fangs, eyes, make-up, costume - all magnificent. Lots of fun. Bravo!

Adore seeing Anette getting her props. In the midst of the Nightwish fan wars three amazing singers got thrown at each other, and each are amazing and deserve respect. I love some Anette songs and hope she gets more recognition in the future.

For some weird reason UA-cam recommended this video only now for me. That said, the video production in this video is superb! I would recommend dropping the fangs because it makes your speech a bit harder to understand and it might have been cool to increase amount of "blood" on your face while the video progressed.
And I love that you choose this specific video because it fits really well for the theme.

Very entertaining reaction to my favourite Nightwish-song with Anette on vocals (which is also one of my overall favourite Nightwish-songs)! For next year's Halloween, I recommend Sultry Air by Atrox with some creepy keyboards/synths and some of the craziest and most playful vocal lines ever to be heard on a metal album - like taking Anette's squealing pigs to the next level.

Glad to see someone react to Nightwish with Annette. While she is vocally different from Tarja and Floor, she was on my all-time favorite NW-album, "Imaginaerum". If you've got the spare time, I'd absolutely recommend listening to the entire album.

It sounds like they sort of influenced your speech a little. I would love to see you do more from this album and more of Annette Olzon.
