I met Bob on a flight in 2015, he was so kind to everyone that approached him. He was sat next to two unaccompanied minors that were about 5 and 7. He sat and read a book with them and played games with them the whole flight. A genuine class act.
Absolutely from commercials to music videos. I think Tim was trying to say how much Doug’s editing was such a massive part to the aesthetic and I think to their percentage of hits over flops. Not just editing but writing and saving bits like “Ooo mama!” For example. Turning absolutely nothing into a memorable funny and ridiculous bit.
@@plothead4839 I mean, Eric Andre's show is like a less funny more chaotic version of Tim & Eric but seems to get a lot more love than T&E. I find that equally annoying, even though I know its an Abso Lutely production
This interview feels so natural and intimate. I love watching the subtle sharing of experiences and brotherly love between two hard working brilliant men. Five bagger
Bob Odenkirk & Jeff Goldblum were down for Tim & Eric's comedy in Hollywood at the very beginning.. When NOBODY liked them or understood their comedy. Thank you Bob & Jeff !!!!
Bob talking about his struggles really spoke to me today. I’ve been chasing my dream in music for 15 years…have gotten so close so many times, but ultimately had some huge failures. Sometimes I wonder why I can’t stop doing this, even though it’s really hard and doesn’t always work out. But it’s just in my blood, and hearing bob talk about how he worked equally as hard on things that didn’t work out for him gives me a lot of hope and inspiration. Never give up!
If youre happy and can feed yourself, keep going, but also be realistic and be able to shift & pivot into a new direction (without punishing yourself, that you maybe 'failed' your original 'plan').. Good luck bro👌👍❤️
I love that Tim had Bob on here. Great interview albeit bittersweet... Bobs my deadbeat father and has not paid any child support or visited me once but it's OK! I love you Dad!
The bit at 1:26:00 or thereabouts, where they're talking about Vince naming his island - they're talking about calling it "Vince's Island," but then suddenly Tim and Doug realise that his surname is Gilligan and then watching Tim try to hint at him calling it Gilligan's Island without actually saying it is abso-lutely hysterical. The cheeky sparkle in his eyes is infectious.
That fella being respectful and refraining from the soundboard while they were talking about bob’s heart attack and then Tim mentions the time he got stabbed and he just unleashes the silly soundboard noises
Bob calls it "luck" but it was a direct result of his hard work and the quality that he had produced. Vince Gilliigan was a fan of Mr. Show, he was similarly a fan of Wiseguy, and was stoked to find out that Jonathan Banks was auditioning for role of Mike.
Yup, I'm on my second watchthrough, and at some point, I WILL edit together a supercut of ALL the different wigs and hair-dos of David Cross in the series.
This interview was as satisfying as strumming a perfectly tuned Guild Acoustic guitar. All individual strings(people) are complimenting one another. A really great interview. Great Job!
I can't believe Bob mentioned Gentle Giant! I bought one of their records at an antique store just because I thought the artwork was funny. It turned out to be really good (if you like prog).

39:48 Wow...this is such a surreal moment 😂 this is probably why Tim and Eric's humor can be tough for people to grasp, when you see on the podcast how easily Tim (and even his guest, Bob!) can switch from a sincere dialog to what is clearly a spur of the moment sketch 😂 amazing
Love bob odenkirk!! I have his memoir on audiobook - very humble, endearing guy can’t help but like him ! I have to say I was in the mood for a wackier type of episode because i like to have fun and i like to laugh of course, but it’s nice to have a long thoughtful, reflective interview style chat as well.
Thanks for putting the full episode up. Never knew you were stabbed… thanks for continuing to show up for us, that is scary as hell. I am forever thinking “I got a 5” taint” and “flabby habby babby”, would be nice to know how often that sketch comes up for Bob.
the bit about bob odenkirk playing himself in a biopic and tim says "has anyone done that?" then later they mention the howard stern guy - who did do that! didn't he?
I bought norms book thinking it was just the story of his life which made it about 10x funnier when it took a turn. But I do want a book that is just the facts like Bob was saying

What a great episode. This is the most fun I've seen Bob have on a talk show visit. Thanks for airing this!
