This song makes me think of my beautiful sister and her beautiful voice and of swimming in a lake and hiking in the mountains together. Carol, 1958-2016. Never forgotten, always heard in my mind.
I gave my strength. For years like an ox I pushed, and for years like a ship I sank to the bottom of that unknown sea. I'm still learning to be free and not so somber. Every night I stay up a little longer searching on that field of stars. Do you know who you are? Can you dig up my tree? Can you find what's inside of me? Find the origin of my defeat. In the beginning I was all dreams Times have changed- I'm no longer the same I don't want you to leave. It's so bittersweet that this is the time you met me; I'm going through a long phase: I don't try to relate, I don't really try to find someone to sedate me. Hard out for remedy, it's so bittersweet (you and me). In the beginning I was all dreams Times have changed- I'm no longer the same Every day's a lesson in giving away. Stripes on my floor, dark shots at my door. Have you ever walked in on a queen before? I just went through the valley, (I know it's changed me) fire from eternity, the origin of my dreams. In the beginning I was all dreams. Time caught up with me and I can finally see.
The ability to summon the true meaning of life in a single song is something otherworldly. She has it and it is incredible. This song makes me want to simultaneously give into all the demons but fight them off with the hope of a happy existence. It's the dichotomy of life at it's most emotional and profound
I just discovered Weyes Blood today, but she became my artist of the year. Even these older songs already sound perfect. Not, because they are perfectly made or arranged, but because they share some uncorrected authenticity without additional cosmetics. Real expressions, so to say. Rare in this world meanwhile. But great to hear it sometimes - nevertheless.
This song makes me cry. It reminds me a lot of my sister. It makes me remember her, because sometimes I forget to. I just stay up, listening to this song crying.
I'm a guy and I grew up in a home with 4 sisters no brothers and I'm always drawn to things that are female centric. It hasn't helped me really know women any better though. This video really has that for me my sisters all wore their hair long and straight and parted in the middle it was the 70's.
crying is good... I could finally see that after being a lot to straight years without being able to cry... still can't, for like 4 years straight now... I would like to though.

This song is gorgeous enough to give you the chills. Natalie has been killing it long before Titanic Rising, it just took the success of that album for people to go back and check out how great she has always been.
Hey Natalie, I'm a diehard metalhead, and I absolutely LOVE your music. Like Harrison, Baez, Drake (Nick) and Dylan, you're in the history books lady. Singing about things that human beings rarely ever have the guts to tell one another. Keep on rocking in the free world!
He's saying she's not TRYING to be weird. Like others in mainstream pop music. She's naturally weird and different without needing to prove it to people. But I think we're all in agreement that weird is good. : )
wished i listened to this when it released, but i was in 4th grade, i'm a junior now. but still this would and did change my perspective of life, i'm forever grateful for weyes blood for personally being here with me with her grace and lyrics.
If my soul was a bird this song would be the thermals for floating. Also this was filmed in my hometown and reminds me of the girls who shared my adventures and love.
50 something young dude here. Found Weyes Blood about two months ago. She is amazing. I've gone back to Titanic Rising (2019). What do I listen to next? this album sounds terrific.
The George Harrison influence is so strong - listen to "Dear One" from the 33 1/3 album, eerily similar. The head shot on the water is straight off the Martin Scorsese film. Nice homage to former styles, with unique interpretation. Natalie Mering is such a blessed, spiritual talent.
lots of wonderful stuff going on in the music (and in the video) especially liked the vocal harmonies (or what sounded like vocal harmonies) enjoyed reading the Noisy interview too!
This brings me back to Cochin and Mîkinahk Sakahikan (turtle lake) up in the mid north of Saskatchewan 💕😭🌱 such a beautiful area. Loved this song. Thanks girl 🥰
i adore that artist.. a mix of.. and.. and.. very personal as i love.. personality.. her voice is... a sound so interesting.. her style.. what a great discovery..
She and her band are TOTALLY Tim Buckley. Which is good, nobody had the balls or the potential to do so. "Do you need my love" is even more into Buckley than anything else in this shitty world.
People are into Maggie Rogers, who is somewhat talented but I find her music kind of "meh". Weyes Blood though, her songs are just on another level. The talent and depth in her music is extremely unique.
my musical life is divided into before and after Weyes Blood.
Me too! She's amazing! Today I heard her for the first time and I'm delighted.
I haven't heard anything so beautiful in ages!
Me too
gospel
just got into her music like a week ago and I feel the same
Beautiful. But I’d take a Latin Mass Celebrating the Lord and Savior Christ any day
this song is like my best secret
Fans from indonesia i love you❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻natalie✨✨

I've never heard a song so beautiful
There is literally no chance that this isn't the greatest song written in last like 5 years.

my god these tonal progressions are magical.

Even after all her brilliant newer stuff this is still one of her very best songs - and this is still her best video IMO.
she has this amazing ability to express the atmosphere I feel

one of the greatest songs of the last two decades
One of her most beautiful songs

Masterpiece… such a slept on song/EP
Oh my god! I'm sobbing! This is the most beautiful song I've heard in ages.
i have to agree
my cat loves this
my cat longs for your cat
Perfect for cat ladies. And cat lady lovers ❤️
mine too 😼
Say hi to your cat for me 💖
My favorite song of hers, so beautifully written.
This song is gorgeous enough to give you the chills. Natalie has been killing it long before Titanic Rising, it just took the success of that album for people to go back and check out how great she has always been.
No voice in music moves me to tears as much as Weyes Blood.
I love her, I love the song, I love the lyrics, I love the clip. I literally love all.
This woman always makes me cry. Alright, time to go look at some Boondocks clips, because I'm in tears now ;(

this has to be one of the most #beautiful songs of the century.
That voice just hits my brain in the right spot.
Not ashamed to admit Weyes Blood is my girl crush.
What I love the most is that she doesn't needs to sound, look or try so hard to be "weird" to be original and great. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE HER ♡♡♡♡♡
What's wrong with a little weirdness? As long as it's original and not crap
He's saying she's not TRYING to be weird. Like others in mainstream pop music. She's naturally weird and different without needing to prove it to people. But I think we're all in agreement that weird is good. : )
This song makes me wanna quit my job.
We all encourage you to do so if you want.
Well, did you?
My job makes me wanna quit my job.
This comment makes me want to quit my job.

Ah! this video makes you wanna run away and just meditate!
Makes me think of lost time and opportunities, grief 💔😢
I think she has the best voice in the female genre.
I’m still learning to be free and not so somber
It's criminal that this only has 294k views
my crush listening to this so here i am
this song gets right through my heart, love it. Her voice is amazing
This is my new soundtrack life like a medicine.
Seeing Weyes Blood play this live.....I swear i feel into a dream, and now i can RIP
Beautiful video! excellent choice of 16 mm use , really compliments the song and the natural melancholy flow of the video .

50 something young dude here. Found Weyes Blood about two months ago. She is amazing. I've gone back to Titanic Rising (2019). What do I listen to next? this album sounds terrific.
Terrific in a bad way?
I think you should listen to her new album And in The Darkness Hearts Aglow. You should listen to Front Row Seat to Earth, too.
listen to it all...
Its all good man, just listen to everything
Gorgeous, both, the music and Natalie! Mesmerizing...
This is like poetry :)

didnt find them similar, the george harrison one is a bit mono-tone and irritated me fast haha

This looks like my childhood
also mine
maybe the best song I ever heard
This is so incredible, where on earth was this filmed?

anyone know the fingerpicking pattern of this beautiful song
I actually just made a guitar tutorial for it ha...ua-cam.com/video/yvKI-XW83yo/v-deo.html
Isn’t it amazing that in our fake consumer society someone still makes music like this?
There are plenty of artists like her if you look a bit. Never take music for what's on the radio or most popular on spotify.
is she not the most beautiful creature
Beautiful music but a very unsettled soul (like all great artists)
Ne serat elle pas la femme spirituelle de morissey?
Ne serait....c l emotion
I saw her first dude
@@nonpolygon She's not property dude.
what does she can finally see?? I need to know!
oohh fah lovely
Gorgeous! Song & Singer.
Reminds me of Tim Buckley.
