my god these tonal progressions are magical.
The ability to summon the true meaning of life in a single song is something otherworldly. She has it and it is incredible. This song makes me want to simultaneously give into all the demons but fight them off with the hope of a happy existence. It's the dichotomy of life at it's most emotional and profound

Even after all her brilliant newer stuff this is still one of her very best songs - and this is still her best video IMO.

I just discovered Weyes Blood today, but she became my artist of the year. Even these older songs already sound perfect. Not, because they are perfectly made or arranged, but because they share some uncorrected authenticity without additional cosmetics. Real expressions, so to say. Rare in this world meanwhile. But great to hear it sometimes - nevertheless.

This song is gorgeous enough to give you the chills. Natalie has been killing it long before Titanic Rising, it just took the success of that album for people to go back and check out how great she has always been.
This song makes me cry. It reminds me a lot of my sister. It makes me remember her, because sometimes I forget to. I just stay up, listening to this song crying.
I'm a guy and I grew up in a home with 4 sisters no brothers and I'm always drawn to things that are female centric. It hasn't helped me really know women any better though. This video really has that for me my sisters all wore their hair long and straight and parted in the middle it was the 70's.

wished i listened to this when it released, but i was in 4th grade, i'm a junior now. but still this would and did change my perspective of life, i'm forever grateful for weyes blood for personally being here with me with her grace and lyrics.

The George Harrison influence is so strong - listen to "Dear One" from the 33 1/3 album, eerily similar. The head shot on the water is straight off the Martin Scorsese film. Nice homage to former styles, with unique interpretation. Natalie Mering is such a blessed, spiritual talent.
