I honestly don't understand why there is so much hate for Nickelback. I have been listening to them for years, and I will continue to listen them for years.
Because social media tells them what to think. Kinda like when Mel Gibson left "racist" remarks on his exs voicemail. As someone who spent most of the 2000s and 2010s on the "Nickelback sucks" bandwagon (despite having never listened to their music), I'd like to offer a public apology to the band and to Chad Kroeger. This song is an absolute banger.
At a festival some years ago, they played. We didn’t care too much, were dumb as they come. They opened with this banger and didn’t let go for the rest of the set. Our bottom jaws must still be lying on the festival’s ground somewhere.
I’m a long time rock and roller. Have played drums in a few bands over the years and can honestly say Nickleback is great in concert! They really get the crowd fired up! Chad Kroeger has as great and unique voice as you will find. Great song.
I'll tell you why I think they are hated. 1 - Songs sound pretty similar to each other. 2 - The songs itself are quite repetitive and with the structure (same guitar riffs, same vocals, same baselines, etc....) 3 -´They've became a meme in the music industry and its cool to hate them. For most casual music listeners these reasons are irrelevant ( because the songs are catchy,they groove etc...). Meanwhile if you have listen to other types of music you might find their songs kinda lazy, boring after a couple of listens. Despite all that and being more than a casual listener I don't dislike them and I might sing along to their songs They're good at what they do. They just don't do enough for me

Here because of Mike Portnoy's Drumeo video and i am absolutely delighted to have discovered this gem of a song. I am not a Nickelback fan, but definitely love many of their songs. I personally believe the hatred they get is unnecessary and stupid. The drummer should try adding double kick the next time they play this song. It would be awesome!

I liked this era of their music, the current not as much. Saw them live in Vancouver on the last night of the Dark Horse tour. I am not sure my left ear has ever recovered. Sick Puppies and Shine Down opened for them. By the time Shine Down was done the place was already buzzing. Chad punked the crowd during one break pretending he was going to do an acoustic version of I have friends in low places. Even from a distance the entire band looked so incredibly tired that night but they still put on a great show.
Best band ever! I fell in love with them years after my high school days (80’s child) and it gave me a new purpose in life! The power of the metal along with the ballads just is so amazing! Chads voice along with the musical skills of the band solidifies their place in music history! Best band ever!

Here because of Mike Portnoy's Drumeo video and i am absolutely delighted to have discovered this gem of a song. I am not a Nickelback fan, but definitely love many of their songs. Most UNDERATED group of all time! “All in balls out!”
I liked this era of their music, the current not as much. Saw them live in Vancouver on the last night of the Dark Horse tour. I am not sure my left ear has ever recovered. Sick Puppies and Shine Down opened for them. By the time Shine Down was done the place was already buzzing. Chad punked the crowd during one break pretending he was going to do an acoustic version of I have friends in low places. Even from a distance the entire band looked so incredibly tired that night but they still put on a great show.
