I was 14 years old, stuck in an abusive home, this song found me. Listening to LP and this song in particular gave me a sense of control over my own life and kept me fighting on. Thank you LP. You helped me survive.

Lol not really. I remember in 2012 everyone was angry about this song saying that beat is too easy etc. I remember it coz this was my first album which LP released. I became their fan with a thousand suns, but by that time, ATS was already released. After that I was hyped about this album. And everyone was complaining about how their old stuff was amazing blah blah. I thought they meant minutes to midnight, but they meant hybrid theory and meteora by old stuff.

This has to be my favourite Linkin Park song ever. The contrast between the chorus and rest of the song, combined with the small rap portions sneaked in between just makes it the perfect combination of vocals and beats. I've always loved the band from hearing it on the radio, -I work in a small village general store in Quebec, Canada where the radio is always playing, - but only started discovering them fullly since the release of their new album. I heard The Emptiness Machine a few times and boy, I was turned into a hardcore Linkin Park fan in a second. Tickets for the Montreal show are going on sale on Thursday, and I'll be first in line to buy one. I wouldn't miss seeing you guys live for the world., no matter how much a chunk it takes out of my weekly pay. I know every penny is going to be worth it! ❤ And while we will forever miss Chester, there's a warm feeling in knowing that the band will go on with incredible people carrying his legacy in such an inspiring way. Damn, reading all the Linkin Park's lyrics was somehow like they knew that LP's are going to end but Mike will keep the LP flame burn, like what he did right now.
The thing about Linkin Park was about the sum of all parts. Every band member brought something special to building something incredible and legendary for all of time.
That is exactly the problem that I have with Bennington's suicide. It's like, imagine a continent where one sixth of it broke off and sank into the sea.., like yeah we can be all optimistic and says what a great five sixths we have left, but it's not the same. There are so many geniuses that collapsed under the weight of not only their brilliance, but the consequence of their brilliance. I feel like when we're all ten years old we want to be rich and famous and successful, but when you get to a point of even mild success and you realise the oxygen you give to so many people who are ten feet beneath the waves, you're no longer, a picture, a poster, a track, a composition, but you honestly become an _icon_ in the most fascination, awesome and terrifying sense of the word. If Jesus came back from the dead today to realise what he held on his shoulders I have no doubt that once he came to terms with what the weight of his existence meant to _SO_ many people globally he would shoot directly into the clouds....because how could you not? The scope of human cognistion is not equipped to handle the feelings of 200 people, let alone 200 million (some of which need you more than their own mother and fathers). I have no idea how massively successful musicians cope with the pressure of being 21st century Jesus every day of their lives.

After my girlfriend ODed and didn’t wake up in 2012, I went to a mental hospital for awhile. I truly feel guilty. During all these years, I enjoyed their music, his lyrics, his voice, without knowing his was still suffering from severe depression. I thought he was talking about his past only and, especially when they took the path Minutes to Midnight/A Thousand Suns, I thought he had left these dark days behind him. I thought that he was making this music for us, I would never have imagined it was a scream for help. Now, their songs make much more sense in a way. And, as I thought I was a huge fan, I never understood that. Even worst for the last album. That was a clear way to say goodbye to everyone, he was seriously thinking about suicide way before. Chris' death was what litteraly pushed him to do it, and he had probably planned it from a while. It's so sad, I can't even cry because my parents wouldn't understand why I make such a big deal about a "celebrity death". But he's not a celebrity for me. He was like a dear friend, and he still is. Linkin Park got me into music like NO other group did. Chester is the one that got me into loving singing, always wondering how amazing the human voice can be. Even though I never experienced depression, I was feeling their songs so much, his voice was so powerful and expressive, because he was actually suffering ... I really wished transforming that suffering into art would have helped him. Unfortunately, not enough to save his life and fight his demons ... I still don't believe it, part of me don't want to and is just denying it inside of me. I will write a song for you Chester. I feel extremely bad and I'm a stranger to you, I can't even imagine what the band, the family and friends are going through right now. Chester, you left us empty. But please, understand that unlike what you might have thought, in the end, it DID matter. Because, the wonderful human being you were made a lot of people go through their depression, feel better, discover the power of music, thanks to you and to Linkin Park. You have lost your battle, but you allowed many many more to WIN theirs. So yes, it DID matter. I missed my last chance to see LP on live, in Paris during the download festival, and I feel very sorry about that. Lol not really. I remember in 2012 everyone was angry about this song saying that beat is too easy etc. I remember it coz this was my first album which LP released. I became their fan with a thousand suns, but by that time, ATS was already released. After that I was hyped about this album. And everyone was complaining about how their old stuff was amazing blah blah. I thought they meant minutes to midnight, but they meant hybrid theory and meteora by old stuff.

This has to be my favourite Linkin Park song ever. The contrast between the chorus and rest of the song, combined with the small rap portions sneaked in between just makes it the perfect combination of vocals and beats. I've always loved the band from hearing it on the radio, -I work in a small village general store in Quebec, Canada where the radio is always playing, - but only started discovering them fullly since the release of their new album. I heard The Emptiness Machine a few times and boy, I was turned into a hardcore Linkin Park fan in a second. Tickets for the Montreal show are going on sale on Thursday, and I'll be first in line to buy one. I wouldn't miss seeing you guys live for the world., no matter how much a chunk it takes out of my weekly pay. I know every penny is going to be worth it! ❤
And while we will forever miss Chester, there's a warm feeling in knowing that the band will go on with incredible people carrying his legacy in such an inspiring way. The thing about Linkin Park was about the sum of all parts. Every band member brought something special to building something incredible and legendary for all of time.
That is exactly the problem that I have with Bennington's suicide. It's like, imagine a continent where one sixth of it broke off and sank into the sea.., like yeah we can be all optimistic and says what a great five sixths we have left, but it's not the same. There are so many geniuses that collapsed under the weight of not only their brilliance, but the consequence of their brilliance. I feel like when we're all ten years old we want to be rich and famous and successful, but when you get to a point of even mild success and you realise the oxygen you give to so many people who are ten feet beneath the waves, you're no longer, a picture, a poster, a track, a composition, but you honestly become an _icon_ in the most fascination, awesome and terrifying sense of the word. If Jesus came back from the dead today to realise what he held on his shoulders I have no doubt that once he came to terms with what the weight of his existence meant to _SO_ many people globally he would shoot directly into the clouds....because how could you not? The scope of human cognistion is not equipped to handle the feelings of 200 people, let alone 200 million (some of which need you more than their own mother and fathers). I have no idea how massively successful musicians cope with the pressure of being 21st century Jesus every day of their lives.

After my girlfriend ODed and didn’t wake up in 2012, I went to a mental hospital for awhile. I truly feel guilty. During all these years, I enjoyed their music, his
lyrics, his voice, without knowing his was still suffering from severe
depression. I thought he was talking about his past only and, especially
when they took the path Minutes to Midnight/A Thousand Suns, I thought
he had left these dark days behind him. I thought that he was making
this music for us, I would never have imagined it was a scream for help.
Now, their songs make much more sense in a way. And, as I thought I was
a huge fan, I never understood that. Even worst for the last album.
That was a clear way to say goodbye to everyone, he was seriously
thinking about suicide way before. Chris' death was what litteraly
pushed him to do it, and he had probably planned it from a while. It's
so sad, I can't even cry because my parents wouldn't understand why I
make such a big deal about a "celebrity death". But he's not a celebrity

into music like NO other group did. Chester is the one that got me into
loving singing, always wondering how amazing the human voice can be.
Even though I never experienced depression, I was feeling their songs so
much, his voice was so powerful and expressive, because he was actually
suffering ... I really wished transforming that suffering into art
would have helped him. Unfortunately, not enough to save his life and
fight his demons ... I still don't believe it, part of me don't want to
and is just denying it inside of me. I will write a song for you
Chester. I feel extremely bad and I'm a stranger to you, I can't even
imagine what the band, the family and friends are going through right
now. Chester, you left us empty. But please, understand that unlike what
you might have thought, in the end, it DID matter. Because, the
wonderful human being you were made a lot of people go through their
depression, feel better, discover the power of music, thanks to you and
to Linkin Park. You have lost your battle, but you allowed many many
more to WIN theirs. So yes, it DID matter. I missed my last chance to
see LP on live, in Paris during the download festival, and I feel very
sorry about that. The day before your death, I was singing along with
you and Mike during your entire concert at Red Square Moscow, old one
but still my favorite. I was having a lot of fun and enjoyed every
minute of it, like if I was there. Thank you, thank you so much for
sharing that amazing voice and human being you were with us. I haven't
cried yet, I know it will eventually come by the time I truly realize
what happened.
