You know what hardcore mode needs? Bloodstains. Good ol' Dark Souls bloodstains that let you see where people have died, and replay their death. Endless entertainment.
Would be cool but then you probably would end up loading everyone´s replays and inventory from all maps and realms and servers, not only from the dead, but the ones still alive.
The technology actually exists. Back during Vanilla the players skeletons would remain but people started using this system to "paint" inappropriate symbols onto the floor.
@@bitbraindev True, had forgot about that. Still they would manage to mess up, they always do.
I see a game world, and I want to paint it red.
I totally approve
the priest almost losing to the pally is hilarious
Was looking at that priest's mana bar and thinking "Why are you running?"
@@TorauthTo cheat and hide obviously
Pally?
the priest spent a whole day commenting under the original clip how he owned the pala and that he was in fact not the priest commenting
I’ll never understand why people make a group and then fight stuff separately. THAT DEFEATS THE POINT OF THE GROUP.
Pick up groups are riotously risky! If I join a PUG and see them running off to different locations, I immediately just disband.
@@swallowedinthesea11 personally i pull everything and feign death if they arent up to my speed
@@peepogob perfectly normal pick up behaviour. thanks for your service, dear hunter.
@@peepogob It's been 19 years and hunters haven't changed at all.
@@Icemario87 they only got dumber
The Pala got a debuff 3 days for quitting the duel, massive reduce on dmg, etc... GM should just remove the debuff and put on the priest...
Calls himself Scubasteve, dies in water
At least went doing what he loved
I never played WoW, but now I'm aware there's fall damage in an MMO people are playing hardcore. I'm gonna watch every one of these.
the secret to surviving a bear attack isnt outrunning the bear, its outrunning the other person with you.
I thought it was carrying a shotgun with you at all times or not going at all.
To be safe, when you travel, always bring a friend, for case like this
As an Alaskan who has encountered a lot of bears. The secret to surviving a bear attack is being more aware of your surroundings to begin with, and also carrying a .45-70 lever action marlin. But yeah meme quotes work too I guess until you're actually in that situation cause most of you aren't doing much running.
@@TyyTheFlyGuyit’s just a joke mate…
@TyyTheFlyGuy oh ya ur such a badass, man.
I love how people, that are running away from mobs, never watch where they're going.
I also love how they keep attacking the mobs, delaying the reset.
Don't forget most of them ignore the environment, which they can use to their advantage, too.
A few of them could've used a stone to line of sight a spellcaster, or jumped a fence to make the mobs run around, but nah - it'll be fine...
panic is a helluva drug
zoomed in to near 1st person perspective
not to mention theyre all perma dazed cuz they dont strafe :p
I'm glad that pally survived that cheesy bait n switch duel
Paladins was smart AF using the environment to his advantage and getting that priest to 0 mana - I’m actually 100% certain that if he didn’t jump up the mailbox onto the roof, that paladin would have slapped him down.
that priest really chose the ONE class that has enough survavibility to make them go OOM but still have a full health bar lol.
Blows my mind when most people are just running around solo because of the old hardcore rules. It's similar to when classic released and everyone spammed dungeons to max level. A trend that hurts the social aspect of the game. Just play the game. Group for quests when you are in the same area as people. Help people that are dying if you can. Make a friend.
What if you group with a total moron that gets your character dead?
@@Ithilionif they pull an entire group that you know for a fact will kill you , just don’t hit them ???
Exactly ... like people just sit there and fight to tag mobs for quests instead of grouping .... retail scrubs
Even playing solo, I talk to people and make friends, not like you have to play with other people in a group to do that.
games dead anyways. doesnt matter.
Skull rock has certainly earned it's name for the server. The death statistics have the cave BLOOD red on the death heat map lol!
I survived it!! But I still expect to die at some point. Have a level 13 horde druid eeeeep
I almost died in skull rock myself, faintly glowing skull saved my warriors hide
Scubasteve dying in water was so appropriate.
That priest at the end got his whole account banned haha fucked around and found out 😂
Sure hope so
But not for the bait duel, right?
I suppose this was just the tip of the iceberg of who knows what other shady stuff he did.
It is incredible to me how many clickers there are. It really actually answers a lot of questions I've had over the years.
Or is it just that the clickers are the ones also making other stupid mistakes?
man its vanilla lol it takes literally zero skill to play vanilla.
@@andrecardoso6941 I think you are using word "literally" wrong. It takes some skill to use it correctly although not much. By looking the clips, it's obvious that people make mistakes, which implies that it requires at least tiny bit skill.
@@ManWithoutThePants what are you on about?
@@andrecardoso6941he’s on about your high school education and lack of vocabulary.
If deliberately baiting people to accept a Dual to the Death is not griefing, TinyViolin was actually just enforcing Judgement Day.
Willingness to screw people over for unnecessary personal gain is fucked up. These people are not decent humans.
Each death seem avoidable , but when yoy do the same actions for hours, you can just care less for one pull and its that pull that will kill you
Most death are avoidable, but when you're surprised and panicking, your decisions get significantly worst. Most people will have avoidable death, wether it's because of lack of skill, or knowledge, or wisdom.
Or, like in some of these clips, because of not being able to stay cool-headed in the face of sudden danger. That's why you should always prepare for the worst.
I have never played WoW so i dont understand, why do people even get themselves in these kindof situations? Basically doing "parkour" ingame? Or is this just a part of the game that you have to go through?
@Gangsta2330 There is no main quest so you don't have to do any quest that you think is too sketchy, but it does take knowledge of the game. There is no reason to do parkour, I don't even know what that guy was doing on that tree 😅 Also being lower level than enemies is punishing, so its okay to come back to them later on.
That first death was more than avoidable. regardless of the fact that he was trying to sneak up he shouldnt have been right on the edge of the branch. that guy was basically begging to fall off
At one point, you're like been playing for 4-5hours, maybe 20 with your character. Everything is going smoothly, its easy and the sense of danger is just a little off. You can make a mistake and manage to survive using your knowledge of the game. But one time, its THAT one pull that seal the deal and get you killed. After that, you know you were cocky, lazy, trying to get faster xp on a quest, etc. Azeroth have no feeling for weakness. You need to stay in that mindset without never having a little moment off
Mage with his entire mana pool running through a cave spamming all the bullshit he has to slow and dmg, instead of just popping mana shield and blinking his way out.
I don't know whether you saw, but all of those mobs cause a very long aoe silence and it didn't seem to have any kind of diminishing cooldown... In short, he was silenced the whole fucking desperate trip towards the entrance of that cave.
@@TheParez no shot he was silenced enough to justify that, he cast a bunch of pointless spells throughout, he could've 100% survived that if he'd started with mana shield
You mean a r1 mage and one of the best players in wow history? Surely he did it wrong and you would have done it right.
@@mitchellcarter2799 Even the best players out there are not Gods, and no I can't pretend I would've done better under the pressure... still, he objectively fucked up and could've done it. Especially as you mention, with someone of Xaryu's skill level
I wanna see the numbers for how many have died to the Thunder Bluff raid elevators.
0:00 Back in the days with the real vanilla wow, you could jump from there as a shadow priest and not die. Fall damage was counted as physical damage equal to 100% of your life and no more. Shadow form reduced physical damage by 10% so no matter how far you fell, you would not die.
These are my favourite videos from you. Been wishing daily for a new HC death video. You make it so much fun to watch.
i dont remember that being the case and i cant find patchnotes or documantation about shadow form preventing fall damage
Falldamage always ignored absorbtion like powerword shield so its very unlikely but to have been normal physical damage that got prevented by shadowform
please link me stuff if you can find something more it
@@damnvier3897 It was just something I found out on my own back then. Assumed it was physical dmage since it was shadow form that stopped it. As for patch notes, I have no idea. It was around until TBC at least. Cannot remember after that.
Similar to how you could talk to the opposite faction if you mind controlled them, then /emote “your message”. Found that out on my own. Once I made a high level alliance rogue friend (I was an undead priest) using this one day, and we went around Westfall killing alliance. I would mind control them, then he would kill them. It was amazing. People made a post on the forums complaining about us.
The way this was written makes no sense.
@@degeneratemafia What's confusing you?
Vanilla Shdowform was 15%.
Clearly didn't play Vanilla.
I think that should be a ban tbh. If someone gets scammed you’d still think it’s fucked up regardless if you got “finessed” or not.
I haven't played WoW in a long time, but back in the day when I played if you tried to name your character the same name as someone else, it would tell you that name is taken and not let you create a character. Is that not a thing anymore?
that dude fell for 20 seconds
thats a tall ass tree
15:45 Imagine asmon taking that duel and lose... he would be malding so bad. Ban worthy for shure.
when the prompt comes up to accept the dual it should just auto inspect so you can see gear/level etc....
as someone who’s only played retail and decided to try hardcore I don’t understand how people die like they do, 0 reaction times and 0 common sense lmao
Assuming they've played retail and not taking into account +w/e mythic runs, classic overall is waaaay more unforgiving then retail outside of raids/dungeons, you almost have to try to die in retail, still most deaths were kinda dumb from kb turning to clicking essential skills
Much of the problem stems from the fact that Retail and Classic are two entirely different games.
Sure, they both say "World of Warcraft" on the title screen, but 19 years worth of changes from the original game to what we have now has drastically transformed it. You cannot approach Classic with a Retail mindset as many skills are different in 2023 versus 2004, players can survive a ton more punishment while doing far more damage, etc. 19 years worth of power creep, rebalancing, and the addition of level scaling has really done some strange things to WoW.
It isn't that Classic is harder, but it can be a slower and more methodical experience. Some vets have forgotten just how much the game changed in nearly 19 years, then they get a massive reality check once they log onto Classic. Meanwhile, you've got players that have NEVER experienced Classic at all. Anyone that has ONLY played the game from Legion onward is going to be in for an extremely rude awakening.
I have no doubts that some of the repeat offenders in these videos that keep making the same boneheaded mistakes again and again are players that never experienced WoW pre-Legion. In hindsight, I'd say Mists is the point where the two versions of the game are fairly balanced in that you can't expect to run around like an idiot and survive, yet you can generally get away with bigger than normal pulls within reason. From that point, the closer you go in either direction, then the more like Classic/Current Retail the game becomes.
14:03 that pally was also in uldaman with that rogue Gazzy who bailed to later die in Sunken Temple. I’m surprised Asmon didn’t catch that
Oh, yes!
And later in Dire Maul, too.
8:55
reg. that aggressive strider: Have you ever witnessed a Emu or Ostrich IRL? those mfs are beasts. If you have the the choice between being locked in a room with an ostrich or tiger, id chose later.
Your vids are making it /really/ hard to not just re-up to wow..... really hard. lol. Thanks for them. Good fun.
The first one got me, the reaction 🤣
But also RIP to the guy on Nek'rosh EU who managed to level to 57 and then drowned like a bitch in Westfall
The first one is hella fake.
@@thefunkylordwedgeyeah no way that was real like he definitely intentionally fell down.
i ran into plaguelands on accident instead of silverpine and got nuked by spiders after 12 levels
You can just wait for Sethir to walk back to the field, off the branch.
That mage not spamming mana shield while running from the harpies? Likely wouldnt save him but might as well use mana for more health if all you are going to do is f nova and blink.
Okay but there’s really a vanilla moment I need to explain with this video, I was curious , was not aware, at 8/9 yrs old I was questing on the first character I made, I was at the same part where this person is in the video, i jumped, and died on a BRANCH. When I was a spirit, I tried going back to my body and MISSED THE BRANCH so then I was all the way down at the bottom, an had no idea where to go because teldrassil was all I knew, so I deleted my first character LMAO
My brother did the exact same thing when he began, I'll let him know he is no longer alone.
That Xaryu clip is funny, safe spots dont stop the mob from attacking you, it stops it from pathing to you. If your in a safe spot and the mob is relatively close to you that it could attack you without moving, yeah its gonna attack you without moving lmao. That's why he should ran out mana shielded, frost nova them all away from the safe spot, then jump back into the safe spot. He lost the safe spot effect by that slight movement he did that moved him off it and allowed the mobs to move closer.
I get that some of these mechanics are opaque, but it amazes me how few people understand how evading mobs, resets, and the like work.
Not that simple lol. Some safe spots definitely do reset mobs and it can take varying amounts of time. I used to reset mobs from safe spots in ZF (while farming trash in the graveyard) and ZG (while farming bloodvine) all of the time.
He knows that lol, he was camping in it outside of attack range for like 20sec before where this clip starts, they didn’t reset, they came melee when he tried moving a little
I guess this goes to show you just how much real stress can effect your decision-making. Xaryu was a flawless duelist in classic but here he is dying with half his mana left.
There IS a spot where you can fall from those tree branches and land safely in the water below, I've done it on my non-HC classic toon.
When you think about it, 11:40 living with literally a sliver of HP would not have happened on any other race because Tauren get a bonus 5% to hp.
I hope the players of those NE rogue's never delete their characters. so soon you have an entire mountain of bodies that died the same
Dead bodies get deleted every week at maintenance.
21:12 then a way they can fix that is if they put a huntersmark arrow on the target your dueling and only you see it so that you cant see other players with the arrow who are also dueling. Ez Fix
I want to comment on the last cheese that it isn't even hard to program fix for this. Just make the guy you wanna duel glow.. Simple as that make the glow ONLY visible to you and done, and if someone thinks of commenting: "This could be hard to code"
It isn't I have make ALOT of prototype dogshit games to tell you making someone/something glow isn't hard
I love tha panic then the aceptance when they know they cannot get away
Classic players truly are a different breed, not a single soul knows how daze, dodge, block or parry works. Honestly fascinating to watch.
I kept asking myself why people were running away instead of backwards to NOT get dazed lol.
so if you overpull then the play is to just backpedal and not hit the mobs until they de-aggro? Can't get dazed and you can still dodge/parry since the mobs are hitting you in the front? @@Ishlacorrin
@@57precision That's how I used to play it back in Original Classic, unless the game has changed greatly then it should still work half decent. Of course if you can LoS for a sec, or drop off a small elevation level so you can run with your back turned but out of melee range then that is better.
Wall jumping up on the inn is a offense. I got a short suspension for it back in the day for killing people with a hunter while on one of the inns.
My level 30 warlock died to a 35 elite patrol today. I even had it marked but the agro range is pretty large... I'm so happy now I can pvp..
mor ladim tried to get me in the exact same spot while i was fighting two mobs on my preist. barely lived xD
At 7:48 im pretty sure you can reset those centaurs by swimming to the middle of the deep part of the pool.
I'm surprised that no one ever decided to create a mak'gora fight club...
Never played wow, barely know what's going on in the clips but damn, this compilations are the best shit i've seen in a while
Im not fantastic but how hard is it to keep tabs on your pot cd let alone no swiftness potions? That shit is exceptionally important and id say take those over any health pots unless your against a mob that stuns/nets
Me whenever I see a clip of a warrior death "Where are your pots? Are you really not running alchemy and farming herbs before pushing?"
I watched our healer die at level 18 and I’ve never been the same
8:52 "yup". 🤣😂😂
In reality that small incline at the base of the tree would be enough to prevent you from dying.
the fact you cant loot people makes it a missed opportunity
I'm playing classic for the first time. it's lit boys, jump right in. Make Blizzard not ignore Classic +
Classic HC in a Nutshell: "Just because you can, doesnt mean you should"
A single cave in classic wow is harder than all quests in retail wow combined and that's a fact. I could go into a cave in retail at any level pull the entire cave, go afk for couple of minutes and still won't be dead
Retail has harder raids. Classic has harder open world content. I don't play either but that's just reality. Stupid to compare the difficulty of caves lol.
mobs on classic are individually stronger than on retail for sure, but on retail, one cave worth of mobs have more mechanics than the entirety of molten core. Classic is more of a stat game, retail is more of a skill game, that's just a fact. You could not get away with keyboardturning and clicking in any sort of endgame activity on retail, yet people are clearing mostly all classic raids while still clicking abilities and standing in fire.
@nordfald3740 I keyboard turned my way through BfA and got CE Nzoth. Not a clicker though. The monk and fire mage duo bosses from BoD was probably the only problem with that one mechanic.
That first guy had so long to regret his decision
18:00 the ui pop-up should show the other player's level
The priest should def lose his lvl 30 character if not perma ban for that
The comment about the pally deserving it for thinking he was going to be attacking a lvl1 makes no sense, a lvl1 has no investment aside from the 5 minute walk to get to that inn from character creation
15:27 at least he got to taste fresh air and see sunlight one last time
asmon has a problem with how easy it is to grief someone In classic hc but he says the griefer shouldn't be banned for griefing

@0:43 And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust, yeah!
that first one was deliberate
The problem with HC is not leveling well most of the time, the problem is not making a single mistake during the whole time till you kill Kel.
And that means: taking absolutely no risk whatsoever. Because even if you are a total pro and get 99% of them done gracefully, the 100th one will kill you.
Sacred flame quest is sketch as fuck 😅
