I think Sharkbot was able to break the contain because the Nexus finally went up, then it moved its army forward to protect it and sit on it (like you see afterward)
I love these exchanges where the bots accidentally help each other get past blockages:
The cyclone harass on the ramp caused more units to be dragged into the tank fire allowing a probe to build the nexus
As you say - the establishment of the nexus changed the defensive rally point into the contain, destroying it
The destruction of the contain meant units went back home to defend

Sharkbot was originally a machine learning online chat bot. I suspect the author might have brought some of that chatting logic to its sc2 bot.
