Question for you. I also have a X-5 with a Mendi S4S I’m looking to upgrade to either a S5D or a sequential Albins. What made you choose the S-4d over the Albins? One more question I having trouble finding the video on who did the fabrication for you? Can you pass that info. On and we’re you happy with them? Thanks, Fellow. X-5 duner.
Great questions, I chose the S4D over the S5D because the gears are smaller in the S5D. Your putting more gears in the same space so they are going to be weaker. I wasn't looking for top end speed as I'm more of a duner than a drag racer. I went with the S4D over the Albins due to cost and I'm not going to run over 1,100 HP. I also know other duners that have the S4D in their rides going on 4-5 years now with no issues. As far as who did my mount fabrication, that video never came out as he told me he couldn't handle anymore work and didn't want to be mentioned. Hope this helps you and thanks for watching!
Love the videos lately …. Question: was there issues with the 2 D, or just wanted the extra piece of mind ? I’m considering looking at the same level of trans to replace a Rancho Sand Box pro (whatever) behind a Chevy 4.3 Dual Sport . With your engine , that would be a good test I would think .
Slurpee27 You are way ahead of me with that question. I don't want to give away all the info coming up in a video posting very soon, however it has to do with HP. The 2D is only rated for a maximum of 500 flywheel HP in a rail that weighs 2000-lbs. If your rail weighs more than that its only rated for 300 flywheel HP. I have a 2500 + lbs rail and I'm currently putting down way more than that. I run the car as you see in my videos pretty hard and a lot of trips, however due to the 2D, I baby it. (don't want to get towed out) My babying days are over!
@@slurpee27 I had a VW Box 02 and upgraded to a bus 091 in a Chenoweth I had with a turbo 2.0 Subaru. The weight of that car was probably 1500-lbs and the bus box held up well (250-hp).
@@DougsX5 that’s good to hear … I’ve heard this before … and I’m mistaken , our car is 2100lbs ..I may just keep the 091…. Not sure …but would be nice to eliminate that as the weak link . Looking forward to more vids keep it up
Doing it the easy way.Sold my car & bought one with a bigger motor,& trans.
Probably what I should do! 🤔

What gear indicator display are you going to use? Want to pull my Albins H out for a sequential for my X5.
I don't know yet. I haven't researched it, however I'll let you know what I come up with after I have.
Remark industries has some nice options.
@@motorcitywraps I will check them out, Thank You!
You are going to love the S4. Make the drive train feel solid.
