Wonderful idea for the lemon/orange/honey tea. I love those Meyer lemons!
I'm 69 years old and heard bible verses quoted many times through the years, but never before 'you' quoting them have I been brought to tears EVERY time! You bring out the truth and realism of the scriptures... you give life to what would otherwise be mundane. That is a blessing that God has given to you and continues to give to us through your reading.

Looks like you are making the Appalachian/Korean style of Norse wassail.
Citrus juice and grated rinds, apple juice, honey/white sugar, freshly grated powders/slices of cinnamon, ginger, allspice, and nutmeg (... and whether you make it hard with some added buzz-water). All the vit C, bioflavonoids, and the terpene essential spice oils make for a powerful sweat-blasting, immunity-boosting hot drink for the cold weather. Big stew pot, and simmer until melded. Dip in cups for a screaming hot - smiley face drink. This is the true Christmas smell in the house. Great for using with a sauna or turkish steam bath, and cold tub/lake.

Love these as gifts! I like to cut my lemons smaller, get everything prepped and prepare each jar separately, layering a little fruit, then honey, and so on.. as I found preparing as a whole batch sometimes makes it harder to get an even fruit to honey ratio for every jar.
They really do make the best little gifts and are relatively inexpensive and often a welcomed alternative to the sugary gifts the holidays bring❤️ ☕️🍊
    Thank you for sharing!!

Meyer lemons are a hybrid cross of citron and mandarin/pomelo. So they are a little closer to the original ingredient than typical lemons! Meyers are not as strident, nor do they have as much bitter pith as those generally seen in grocery stores. If ya’ like tart and tangy fruit, Meyer lemons can be eaten fresh, peel and all. I like them fresh, but I’m normal. 🙃
I look forward to trying this and giving some jars of goodness for Christmas gifts. Thank you for sharing❣️

Hi Christa!! As others have said, I too, have been following you for some time now. One of THE best channels here. This Christmas I made the tinder quicks for my son-in-law for their lake cottage, and I will be taking my whole kit for making these to my son's in the near future..didn't get time for our Christmas...and he wants to do it with me. (awww)....Made the skivvys for all my family members, him included and his friend who was going to Thailand for 3 months. AND this wonderful tea....I'm on my 2nd batch..first one didn't find Meyer Lemons but did find organic ones...2nd batch found the Meyers at Aldi's 4 for over $2..but they ARE good!! I tweeked the recipe a little for my grand daughter..she loves the tiny oranges so we used more of them this time...about 5 lemons...and the grandkids eat them sliced!! And can't find raw organic filtered honey so the first batch was organic raw filtered...2nd batch raw unfiltered..tho' it really looked filtered organic honey....LOVE LOVE LOVE this....More to watch and make as I learn myself and teach my family what we need to know. And yes, the message is the best at the end, which is the beginning and end of everything! Blessings.

I married a retired Chinese surgeon ten years ago and Citron Tea is popular with them as well. My curiosity caused me to buy a jar from the Chinese grocer in Sydney and it was nice, but I didn't kick on with it after the first jar as I don't do sugar or sweet stuff.
One thing I do though is gift honey to my family and friends. I live in the country and all of my family live in the city, so I take honey from my friend's farm and give it away which pleases my city slicker rellies immensely. The honey comes from a friend's farm, they are a Philippino couple and she plants flowers all over their farm so that she has happy bees and packs the raw honey in lovely jars and lovingly ties a little ribbon around them
I buy about 20 x 1kgs jars (2.2Lbs) a year and our jar lasts us about three years, haha. Christmas is in the middle of summer here and it is my job to take a huge box of cherries from my friend's orchard and Loquats from the tree in our backyard.
I have 2 x 1.5Kg jars of Bell's raw honey inside from last year, I will make some jars of Citron Tea using your method as gifts for my sweet toothed Brothers and Sisters. They will be thrilled as always getting gifts from 'the country' and I love giving them.
    Thanks for a great video.

You know, I never heard of the "C" tea b4 now; it appears interesting and is worthy of making a batch. But more puzzling is that as of this time, 09dec @ 0545 hrs UTC, there are four viewers who give it a thumbs down! I just don't understand why, that in the midst of culinary enlightenment, 4 viewers dislike this video. Then again, some people are not happy unless they are trying to disparage, discourage or tear down others.
Keep up the good works lass. You have more viewers who appreciate your contributions than those, who for whatever reason, disapprove.

I made this recently as Christmas gifts, sampled it on my family & they loved it. I add a dash of Turmeric when I add the hot water for my inflammation issues. good stuff

My parents and grandparents would always save the Orange peels, hang dry. Add hot water and honey to peel and they had tea!

I MADE A BATCH RIGHT AWAY ~ After working with one Meyer Lemon, I decided upon using a SERRATED BREAD KNIFE and scoring the rind in four (4) places, stem-end to flower-end and sliced it all as thin as I could, even the ends. The bread knife gave me more control to slice thinly. The lemons looked LIKE-A-FLOWER in my teacup, and the ends were tiny thin circles!!
I took a PICTURE. I wish you could see it!!
CAUTION: After finishing and SAMPLING MY batch, since I had the ingredients on hand. I used up dribs-n-drabs of honey I had on hand. One was "unfiltered" honey, and I could definitely taste the wax. It is still a wonderful recipe, though. :p

Citrons are part of the citronella (anti-mosquito) smelling essential oil . You will definitely see less mosquitoes around you as well !

@@PREPSTEADERS All the citrus (using the skins, like grated lemon rind) is full of bioflavonoids - making the Vit C more absorbable in the body. The orange rind oil (all citrus rind oil) makes for very potent and healthy drink - as this Asian citron oil tea.

Thanks for this! I came back from Japan a few months ago and fell in love with Yuza (or Citron) tea. So much so that I purchased a Yuzu tree so that a few years down the road, when it finally produces fruit, I can make my own. I will be using this recipe until that time comes!
