No, thanks. I don't like them... at all.
Thanks for having us Alan, looking forward to doing more with you!
Any time!
While I don't agree with the Firewind member's opinion about BABYMETAL, it was respectfully expressed.
Can't ask for more than that.
It did sound like they've not heard anything like 'Divine Attack', 'Metal Kingdom', or 'Monochrome' from the most recent album.
I tried though
When Marty Friedman first came to Japan, he joined Nanase Aikawa's band.
Aikawa is still around. She will be performing at this year's Naon no Yaon on May 18.
@28:00 Ohmura has been playing for pop singer A-MEI lately. He posts regularly on Twitter.
That’s right!
When Japanese music started to look for a source of income through live performances, they chose EDM and metal to create an orchestral effect with a minimum number of members.
It's in the same family tree as opera and musicals, it's show business
That's why BabyMetal is always experimental.
I think LOVEBITES is bringing the possibilities of composition and arrangement to this evolution of show business.
Oh hey, Greece represent! Was not expecting to see them here. BTW Onmyouza are pretty cool, you should check them out
Great interview!
👍Interesting video. Thanks. 🖖❤
Glad you enjoyed it
I swear everytime i see someone give an opinion on BabyMetals vocals, its like they've only heard Gimme Chocolate and thats it. They just assume they still sound like children and dont bother giving the rest a chance.
He is right though, there is nothing like BabyMetal out there, but you kick a rock and 10 bands like Firewind apear
The name "Ado" comes from traditional Japanese theater like Noh theater and the more comedic "kyogen."
The main actor is called the "shite" (pronounced 'shee-teh') and "ado" refers to the actor playing opposite the main character in a supporting role. In Japanese theater, there could be more than one "ado."
Nice itw , GUs G he is crazy good 🤘🤘
Interesting interview, although it happens to me like what they said about BabyMetal and that they didn't like it, the same thing happens to me with them, I don't like them at all, and they sound like a thousand similar bands, if you don't look for information you don't know who they are, and BabyMetal, their sound and their entire concept is much more original and unique, the only thing I can highlight about Firewind's was perhaps when they released “Immortals” which is the best of the worst, in short there is taste for everyone, but personally, it happens to me that they are one of those bands that what makes them visible is that they were former musicians of great personalities. But I say it with respect, because they are my tastes, I know that others must love Firewind's, and I respect them.. 🤘🖖🤟
BabyMetal isn’t for everybody. I rather have someone who’s politely not a fan of BabyMetal than someone just being a hater.
BabyMetal can’t please everyone but those that are fans of the band should just care about BabyMetal and each other.
Oh yeah Onmyo-za is one of my fav bands. A very good mix of symphonyc and traditional metal with an excellent vocalist, kuroneko, and an excellent bassist/singer, matatabi. Past year they released a new album and touring, and I think this year tour was cancelled or delayed due to health reasons. They had their peak mid 2000s, were popular at that time, since then it's been more chill but they've kept doing stuff.
I've also heard mentioned Outrage, they are also doing stuff, maybe the biggest legacy thrash band in the country. I've also heard mentioned Loudness, X Japan... great taste.
Don’t be so diplomatic , I know how much you love babymetal . Tell him he needs to listen to the new album
'humor' about names (Fuki) is disgusting
Some humor is not for everyone hopefully you enjoyed the rest ❤
@@Dicodec that was a huge fly in the small ointment
Yeah, I couldn't watch past that point. You should at least have had the good sense to edit that out.
@@Dicodec references to 90s-era comedy is now verboten. 🙄
(never mind that it's literally _just_ *puns* )
@@DicodecOh yeah I'm sure whatever relationships you're trying to make with people in the Japanese music industry will appreciate that kind of "humor"🙄
Excellent interview very informative you should do that for a living also I've seen all those videos with Gus G Marty Friedman Takayoshi and others
Спасибо, Алан!
Gus G is old-school metal. He used to be Ozzy's guitarist. So he had to learn all those old Randy and Jake songs.
It takes a lot of talent to nail that stuff on stage every night. ( Notice... he said he liked LOVEBITES! 😎👍🏼 )
Unfortunately, the negative will be focused on the most
@@Dicodec Not by me.
I’ve watched several Firewind videos. They’re a typical run-of-the-mill metal band with a long-haired burly old man screaming & growling mundane vocals. They say that they’re old school, and they do sound exactly like a thousand other metal bands with nothing new to offer. So boring and predictable, right out of the metal band cookie cutter. We’ve all heard it a million times. They can’t even imagine anything different.
welcome to the world of euro power metal.
From Japan: They are musicians, not music critics. They know what is theirs, so they don't empathize with things that aren't theirs, and they can clearly judge things that aren't theirs. I am grateful that they toured the world and come to Japan to perform with such respect and admiration. If they had the time and space to listen a little more deeply, they might find some gems in Japan. But I feel like that's not what I want from a musician.
Yes, they don't have any real competition, thats how they won their fance. They wanted to create kawai Metal, now they make simply Babymetal, even if it is release by Bring Me The Horizont, or F.Hero.
Can I be COMPLETELY honest? Who the F. is Firewind? 🙄
I understand Babymetal has a much larger fan base than BandMaid. I find Babymetal music overtly synthesize and backtracked. BandMaid is strait hard in your face rock.
I find Bandmaid boring and for fetishists.
Nothing about rock is hard though.
@@Hymnodic ya. Posting idiotic statements seems much easier.🙄
@@waynetubr Yes, and you know it by own experience. 🤨
