Fr, brands need to start making better shades/under tones. The beauty industry has made some progress but they still have a lot of work to do.

look, i’m white. like WHITE white and i still can’t find my shade in any foundations. they’re always too orange or too light. i’ve resorted to using concealer and bronzer as my base 😭

I stopped wearing foundation all together bc of this its too stressful as a dark skinned person. I just use a foundation stick under my eyes to cover up my eye bags then conceal and set its so refreshing tbh

Ppl don't talk enough about when you are light brown/middle skin tone you can NEVER find the right shade😭

I have a similar skin colour like this girl. It’s a yellowy olive complexion. Most concealers and foundations don’t suit us. Plus it’s a pain getting different shades between the warmer and cooler seasons. I mix two shades from elf cc cami cream. The medium 330W and the tan one right after that one. I love that I have control of how to mix them and I always end up with the perfect shade. Sometimes I’m lucky and it works out so well I don’t see it when I apply it to my cheeks. But once it hurts my dark circles it’s like magic. I recommend doing it that way instead. Another good one is Covergirl Skin Milk in medium in the white and pink packaging. Idk how but it’s gorgeous on me. I expected it to be orange in me but it works!!! It takes time and patience to find what works until companies catch up. Good luck!! 🤩

Not getting the right Colour of Foundation is the most pathetic thing tbh. I think you should try makeup sold in India by Indian brands like Sugar. They do have a shade range which matches our skin tone.

I’m white and surprisingly I also struggle with this. You’d think one of the light shades would work but they’re all too yellow. So far I’ve barely had luck finding any foundation that is actually my skin tone, so I’m also stuck being a concealer girl…

I love love LOVE Huda Beauty foundation sticks! I’m Hispanic, and it’s so hard finding shades that don’t come out orange on me. Huda’s range and color matches are the best I’ve found!!

  • @Minaaamii

I just use a tinted moisturizer now because it’s sheer enough where if the shade is off, it’s not noticeable

  • @Pedanticskepticism

If you ever come back to India try the Indian brands like Nykaa or Kay beauty or Lakmé or PAC or forever 52 you will definitely find your shade

  • @HAIRHOLIC_1

I feel your pain sista, indians and light skin black people struggle the most with foundation. But I’ve managed to find the perfect shade with Estée Lauder, they did a color match with a computer thing on me and I got my perfect foundation ever, I suggest you go into their stores and get color matched too

i stopped wearing foundation for this reason too 😭 it is so hard to find actual olive toned products

  • @weareallfritz4365

I'm not saying this to take away from darker skin people, but this is also an issue if you're too pale. I knew someone who had to "water down" her foundation down with lotion. Her skin tone was similar to mine (seen in my pfp.) I can't even imagine the struggle that albino people must go through. These companies need to get it together and start making foundation for

  • @emilyabel5979

I am irish with a lot of freckles & Nothing is light enough for my skin color. And My freckles end up looking green! So i'm with you are not wearing Foundation anymore. Plus you're absolutely gorgeous! I feel like you don't even need makeup at all but I get it

The same thing happens with fair skin tone and others as well.I also get hard time finding shades as a Mua.

  • @PicassosSister-rj5zp

As someone with an Olive skin tone , it's really hard to find a good shade match; and I feel really bad for darker skin tones because the colors shown in those images are usually lies. Why do brands have to treat inclusivity like it's hard?

  • @6686Andrea

I'm a black woman and I'm always between shades. I have a golden undertone. Not to mention lighting is everything for me skin tone

  • @TheHandsomeHam

Please try Lancome they actually teamed up with Pantone and got rid of all shades that do not match anybody. This was in like 2017 so I’m sure they might have lost some shades or added some shades but it used to be a perfect shade range based off of Pantone, the literal app, the guy in the beginning of the video was using

  • @Lauren-tk1gq

I’m extremely fair skinned and I feel the same frustration. Every foundation is either too red or just completely white. I’ve given up🤷🏼‍♀️

  • @minumeyli

one thing i noticed while working at ulta is 99.9% of beauty brands think deep skin tones are just warm toned. I was trying to color match a girl at the store and literally couldn't find any shade that was dark AND cool or neutral toned. i even have a hard time myself because i'm neutral toned and lighter skinned.
