P3: Royal Enfield Himalayan - Seattle, WA to Alaska (Riding, Canada, Mountains, Goats...)

  • Part 3 of Royal Enfield Himalayan - Seattle, WA was long overdue, but hopefully worth the wait. Finally we get to see some serious riding action and curvy, mountain roads. Consider liking, sharing or subscribing and all that fun UA-cam stuff.
The highlight of the episode is finally entering into Canada and riding in Banff National Park's winding, mountain roads. As my skill and creativity with the action cams improves, so does the overall experience of viewers get riding along on the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
    SERIES OVERVIEW
Follow along as I purchase a Royal Enfield Himalayan in Seattle, Washington and ride it for the first time EVER all the way back to Alaska. I even do some customizing to the bike along the way!
This is the second part of a series of videos covering my purchase of the 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Himalayan, customizing the bike and exhaust with Cerakote Ceramic after only 300 miles, doing my first service, then continuing on through Banf National Park, Jasper National Park, the Canada Yukon and Alaska where I stopped at a magnificent glacier before arriving home.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan is a 411cc adventure bike built in Indian and made available in the U.S. for the first time in 2018. Very few motorcyclists in the U.S. have had the experience of riding one let alone taking it for a near 3000-mile ride right from the showroom floor.
    IN THIS MOTORCYCLE SERIES
    ○ At only 411cc's, how does it handle on American highways?
    ○ What's involved with the first service at 300 miles?
    ○ Can it hold up on a long-distance adventure?
    ○ Is it comfortable, capable, and does it handle well?
    ○ How does the bike look after a ceramic coating of the exhaust, skid plate and levers?
    ○ And what sort of scenery, wildlife and adventures do I experience on my 2,800-mile ride back to Alaska?
I hope you enjoy this series. Please LIKE & SUBSCRIBE for the following parts and future Himalayan adventures in Alaska.

I think US citizens take it for granted but US is one of the most beautiful country on the planet, full of awe inspiring scenic places..Vast open lands and endless roads. A heaven for riders. It has always been my dream to own a decent bike and ride it all around the world.Maybe someday I will be able to afford it. But untill that day comes,I will keep on living little parts of those dreams by watching amazing people on UA-cam like yourself riding and going places I can only imagine.Thankyou.

Quite right! We all need to take advantage of our own back yards, and protect it as well. I myself need to do more Western and Southwest exploring in the US. Haven't even seen the Grand Canyon yet. Sounds like a good idea for a future trip. 🙂

Three cheers for functional democracy! 🍻 I guess nice roads are one of the benefits. Economy and money isn't worth anything if it doesn't get appropriated honestly in ways that benefit the whole country.

I hope that one day you can fulfill your dream. Manifest those thoughts into your reality. I've been fortunate to have been able to ride through some amazing scenery over the years in the states and western Canada. Keep your head up and your eyes on that prize and shrug off any setbacks.
I've been amazed with all of the places that I've been and how many people in different places here haven't ever ventured outside of the state that they live in. I've met some of the greatest people in my travels and a few have become longtime friends. Cheers.

That's true Nilanjan. I was amazed to see his way of servicing the bike. Here even the company workshops will not do it so nicely and precisely. I always had to sit on their head during service times initially, but now they know me well, so I leave it on them :-)

@@subh737 it's America , here people don't go to service centers just for an oil change and things , it's not India, where u can reject a bike just because of its maintenance cost and services......

Note, I live in Australia and have the same bike you have ( but I think yours is the EFI model judging by the oxygen sensor at the top of the exhaust pipe?, mine is just the standard carburetor model bike )
Bought my bike from a motorcycle shop at Port Macquarie and rode it home in one fell swoop( approx 625klms!, the bike was a demonstrator bike with about 800 klms on the clock, therefore I got the bike very cheap.
I bought this bike as it's quite light and a low seat height as I'm not that tall and at 62 years old the days of big heavy cruiser are well and truly over.
I almost done 5000 klms now and I just love the bike.
I service the bike every 1500 klms and will do the tappets when I get to 5000 klms , shortly I will install a set of Royal Enfield panniers.
By the way great video's and scenery ( love the footage of those humming birds )
All the best and take care
    Regards
    Alan Reilly

      @KARMAkazeMoto  5 років тому +5

Glad to hear you're liking your Himalayan too. Also really happy you appreciated those hummingbirds. I had a big grin on my face when putting those in the video. So fun to watch with the music. Must have thrown a few people off that only wanted to see bikes, but I couldn't pass on including it. Truly my favorite part of the whole video.
Should be posting Part 4 on or about Dec 7 if you're interested.
By the way, I think I'd be happy with the non-EFI Himalayan. I dread the day some electrical gizmo isn't working. On the other hand, the precise fuel delivery of the EFI has it's benefits.

I currently ride a 17 Road King Special but am interested in purchasing a dual sport bike and the Himalayan keeps me coming back and looking for more info. Great videos. Love the editing. Been wanting to do my own vlogs but have never mastered the editing process. Yours is top notch. Enjoying the local flare. I live on Vancouver Island and regularly travel these roads. Keep it up. You rock my friend. The quality of the content in this Part 3 is awesome... as was in the first two. I just had this urge to learn a bit of tinkering with my bike looking at you. All the best
