P4: Royal Enfield Himalayan - Seattle, WA to Alaska ( Best ride of my life! )

- Опубліковано 16 жов 2024
- Part 4 of Royal Enfield Himalayan - Seattle, WA to Alaska has arrived! Follow along as I ride the Himalayan from the interior of Banff National Park, through Jasper National Park, do some roadside camping, and then push on to Fort St. John in British Columbia, Cananda. Please consider liking, sharing or subscribing and all that fun UA-cam stuff.
The highlight of the episode has got to be cruising through Jasper National Park. It was a glorious day and the best ride of my life! Toss in a few nice wildlife sightings, an amazing camp site, and continued performance from the Himalayan and this has got to be the best part of the serious so far!
SERIES OVERVIEW
Follow along as I purchase a Royal Enfield Himalayan in Seattle, Washington and ride it for the first time EVER all the way back to Alaska. I even do some customizing to the bike along the way!
This is the second part of a series of videos covering my purchase of the 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Himalayan, customizing the bike and exhaust with Cerakote Ceramic after only 300 miles, doing my first service, then continuing on through Banf National Park, Jasper National Park, the Canada Yukon and Alaska where I stopped at a magnificent glacier before arriving home.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan is a 411cc adventure bike built in Indian and made available in the U.S. for the first time in 2018. Very few motorcyclists in the U.S. have had the experience of riding one let alone taking it for a near 3000-mile ride right from the showroom floor.
IN THIS MOTORCYCLE SERIES
○ At only 411cc's, how does it handle on American highways?
○ What's involved with the first service at 300 miles?
○ Can it hold up on a long-distance adventure?
○ Is it comfortable, capable, and does it handle well?
○ How does the bike look after a ceramic coating of the exhaust, skid plate and levers?
○ And what sort of scenery, wildlife and adventures do I experience on my 2,800-mile ride back to Alaska?
I hope you enjoy this series. Please LIKE & SUBSCRIBE for the following parts and future Himalayan adventures in Alaska.

Such wonderful thing to say. Yes it true, it is :)
royal enfield should pay you money ... like tons of it ..
It would be my pleasure to accept TONS of money from anyone, Royal Enfield or otherwise. 😀
Ha, ha. Brain?
I bought a Himalayan recently brother.. enjoying the ride.. great machine..Hope uve all recovered from the earthquake
Excellent! I hope you're enjoying yours!
We're basically back to normal after the quake. Just a big mess really. Thanks for mentioning it.
My favourite Himalayan video of all the Himalayan videos and I've been watching a lot while waiting for my Himalayan to be delivered. Love Canada so it's a win win with such amazing scenery 😍.
Wow, that is a really impressive compliment. Thanks so much!
I hope some of my future vidoes are equally as enjoyable.
Cheers form Alaska! 😊
This series has to one of the most beautiful and inspiring thing I have ever seen with my eyes.
Everthing is beautiful .the ride, the view, countries, perfect drive home.it looks like a comfort drive
Hi Justin, as a biker with more than a passing interest in the Himalayan (and also a drone flier) I have been devouring your recent videos! Congratulations. Such high production values are rare but highly appreciated! Take care!
How cool is that !! from one himalayan owner to another, you're truly testing it's capabilities bro. Godspeed.
unforgotable Moments at our vacation when we drive thrue - CANADA is AWESOME (we drive the same roads) - we are from Germany - what a Trip - Cheers
Wow.... just epic. So jealous. I live and ride a lot in Colorado and I don’t think I have seen such beautiful scenery. Nice camera work.
Best video ever. I love the mountains. Thank you for sharing. 😀
Abso-freaking-spectacular landscapes, that sheer vertical relief with mountains right next to the road. That highway looks like it passes by the Burgess Shale quarry.
Man, what an out of this world scenery.....I love the Canadian Rockys.....😀
Me too!
Love your moto it's cool machine , true value for money 😊will buy one in red some day
You're right, plenty of value... And fun.
Thanks for watching. Cheers from Alaska!
FYI drones are illegal in all Canadian National Parks. I’m glad you didn’t get caught. I love the drone footage.
Good point, and I have to admit, I wasn't thinking about it at the time. I may go back and look at a map to see if I was technically in the park boundaries when flying. Very possible.
KARMAkaze Moto I wouldn’t worry about it. Even if some jealous drone pilot reported you, because of your nationality and location, I doubt there would be a problem. I wouldn’t camp in unauthorized areas in the Parks either. There are some petty civil servants who would get a kick out of making your life miserable.
You're right Gerald. I'm a drone pilot as well and I'm kinda ripped off about not being able to fly in national parks. I don't need some civil servant thinking he's saving the world by making my life miserable giving me flack about my drone.
@@gcprost I had at least one person get on my case a little bit for the drone and free camping. It was interesting how he jumped to some huge assumption about my character. Thought I was lying about my knowledge of the camp rules. Everything's a big conspiracy I guess. Way off base! Even the park gate attendant who told me everything was booked had no problem giving me a two day pass... and no warning! As an out-of-towner, when the parks are on your route, and not your destination, it is very easy to just breeze through unaware of some regulations. And coming from a place where parks never have highways, rules against roadside camping and drones never once crossed my mind. Those were just stop and go activites on my way to Alaska. But now I know! I'll play it a little more safe next time. I certainly don't want to help anyone get their kicks by tattling on me.👍
For the record, no one has had any issue with me speeding. 😁
I'm completely in love with your channel. Such amazing content. Thank you very much for your effort!
I like the kid looking at you out of the rear seat of the SUV. He's probably thinking "Man, I wish I could do that". You probably just inspired the next long haul adventure bike rider.
Kids love motorcycles! I honked at him. Hard to tell in the video. He was pretty happy about it. Probably helps to have a helmet that looks like a futuristic astronaut. 🚀
I've been watching several motovloggers and it donned on me tonight the amount of work one would have to do to get the video's they do by themselves. Thank you for what you do.
I'm addicted to your videos from part 1! Was first looking for real world RE Himalayan reviews, and yours covers everything I need to know! Professional shooting, beautiful landscapes, nice job, two thumbs up!
A huge thank you!!
Another great episode. Nice background score (0:22-0:31, 11:44-12:06). Stunning sceneries, well captured. Cool drone shots. Keep riding Bro!!
That first score you linked is actually called Wheels of Karma. A perfect fit for my channel.
man that is so amazing and fantastic and … no words for this, sorry - big thumps up
This Man Getting Million Subscriber From 🇮🇳🙏❣️
Keep up the good work Justin, your videos are great to watch 😊.
You live in a beautiful part of the world, Canada 🇨🇦.
I watched all of your travels up through Canada to the Arctic last night 😊. You have shown how good that bike is doing what it was designed for against the cost of other adventure bikes 😊. I want one now lol. Looking forward to more of your adventures.
I did that ride up to Jasper last summer. It was amazing. The scenery is breathtaking and the roads up there are so much fun to ride. Definitely one of my favourites as well.
Nice! Were you on the triumph tiger?
I did have the Tiger up there... It was brilliant on those roads!
I bet!
That was awesome. I love whenever you see a scenery, you show us that like that sun rise.. looking forward to the next part.
Single handed you made the video... I can only imagine the effort gone into this 👏👏👏
Wow! What an adventure rides with your HIMALAYAN ROYAL ENFIELD. You encouraged me to choose the right Dual Sports Motorcyle. Thank you for being courageous and very determined to do this longride travel! AWESOME VLOG!
so good to see Himalayan going distances
Beautiful scenery great road trip , if you never do anything else what memories you can look back on , Brilliant each video you make has a simple story you make interesting. Thanks .
Excellent comments Carl. I'm glad you like my storytelling. Cheers! 👍
The Himalayan is the grand effort by Royal Enfield , glad your making the serious run with . Marry Christmas , Thanks be
Thanks Justin. Great job. Enjoyed the ride. God bless. Happy trails.
So this video is a couple years old now. Are you still in love with your Himalayan??? Because I’m REALLY considering buying one
Still happy with it, especially for the money. 👍
Enjoying your trip, most times the video is like actually being there, thank you.
That was the goal! Thank you. I'm glad you like it. 🙂
Your Trip and Video is nothing more than amazing. Thank you.
Thanks so much. I think you're going to like the ride to the northern coast of Alaska even more. 😀
I watched this vlog from India, Calcutta the city of joy, thank you very much . Please be safe drive and save life. The sight is very much beautiful,
Thanks a loy.
The pleasure is all mine Provash. I was happy to share such incredible scenery and fun riding with everyone, including Calcutta viewers. 🙂
Our parks really are a national treasure. Its good to see they're finally repaving those roads. I've been through there quite a few times over the last few years and some of those roads were in pretty rough shape. Keep it coming!
I was pleasantly surprised. I had been warned about gravel and people driving too fast. Neither was an issue. 🙂
What a place! What a road! What a bike! What a vlog! Wow!!!!
Magnificent views ...brings back great memories. I made the drive (by car) from Calvary, through Banff to Jasper and Hinton several times about 35 years ago. I've always thought it has to be one of the most breathtaking drives in the world! Thank you for sharing.
It is world-class for sure!
I can feel the amount of time you have been putting down for video editing! Great video as always !
Yes. I need some sleep. 😴
😉 Thanks!
I had come across your channel just 2 days ago. I subscribed after watching P1 and watched till 3. Was wondering when 4 would be out or whether something was wrong. Delighted when this popped up & glad to read from the comments you are fine. Really made me happy, your such a nice person too. Though I'm not a biker I really have become your fan. Truly believe the subs on this channel will soar up suddenly!
You got so lucky to watch them all within 2 days. Others were waiting 2 weeks for each part. Hopefully I do part 5 quicker.
Thanks Joel!
The whole thing is completely killer! I'm envious.
Not sure why am I binge watching your Vlog. Amazing from start till the end. Congratulations
Oh my gosh Saffron, thanks so much! Glad you got some enjoyment out of the series. Hopefully some of the sights and sounds from this summer will interest you. Take care and thanks again!
10/10 Knowledge. Efforts, Riding Skills, Cinematography, Choice of Locations. Overall Brilliantly executed Moto Log. Honest Review. Enjoyed every bit.Subscribed. Its Not about expensive bikes. Its about the Joy of riding. Himalayan does it all. Cheers mate
Amazing scenery. Really good photography. Excellent video.
gobsmackingly beautiful nabitat. i thought where i live and ride was beautiful but you win man. love the vids!
Spectacular scenary and awesome background scores. Waiting to see the next part.
Thanks. I'm going to get a head start on the next one. 👍
I enjoyed this video thoroughly. Beautiful scenery. Thanks for your videos.
This is an enjoyable series. One old biker tip though... when sleeping next to your bike do it on the opposite side of the kickstand. Sure chances are slim that the ground may give enough for the bike to tip over but why risk it falling on top of you during the night?
Thank you for showing what the Canadian Rockies look like, as a prior resident of Calgary I was able to spend a lot of time there, now I'm on the west coast in the Vancouver area...it's all mountains and spectacular scenery from here on east.
Nice!
If it wasn't for getting that ceramic work done in Part 1, I would have ridden up that way.
Thanks for watching!
Making a vid is a boatload o work and time....... Im sure for us it'll be worth it. thanks for your efforts!
Justin, thank you for an awesome sceneries experience.
dude, i had a crappy/hard work week pulling 14 hour days inside of a burnt house. your video was just what i needed to remember why i work in the first place. this ride is now on the bucket list. Also, i am glad to see you made it through the shakes alright, me and my lady have been sending good vibes that way and had wondered how you fared. keep up the good work!
Super glad you enjoyed it!
And yeah, we did ok. Almost all the mess is cleaned up. The Himalayan has a scratch in a side panel, but hey, it was going to happen sooner or later. Plus, that can be replaced easily.
@@KARMAkazeMoto good to hear. a scratch beats a broken wind screen or bent rim any day. had an oak branch fall through my shed once... kinda ruined spring for me a couple years ago.
Ouch!
Royal Enfield should seriously sponsor you for this video. You did a great job advertising re bikes.
Beautiful travelogue, mate you are talented story teller! Keep traveling keep sharing!
Beautiful vid which inspired me to buy Hima.
11:22 beautiful .....the scenry is so amazing
love the bike! the ceramic exhaust looks fantastic..
how do you like riding w/o ABS? I watched ABS / non ABS tests.. big difference in braking/handling. I'd appreciate your expert Himalayan opinion!
Looking fwd to pt 5.. Thanks!
I've never owned a bike with ABS, so I don't miss it at all. Riding without ABS just encourages me to pay more attention to the feel of the bike, the handling, and also makes me a little more cautious. This summer when I am on more dirt and gravel I might have some thoughts on braking without ABS and if I feel like I'm sliding too much.
Part 5 is on the way. Slow and late, but ON THE WAY!
Awesome country, well filmed,my handsom!
really beautiful.. beautiful roads.. beautiful sceneries.... beautiful bike.. beautiful editing
Beautiful rider? 😏
Just kidding! Thank you, glad you liked it!
Beautiful vista's, awesome work.
Thanks for sharing
Nature is so beautiful.
Giving me goose bumps and stomach butterflies watching this. My gosh luv A&W but not seen one in years, thought they were all gone.
They don't have hot dog any more! I was looking forward to a chili dog, and I found out they only have burgers now. What's the world coming to! 😀
No chili hot dog, oh tell me it isn't true. Thanks so much for sharing the ride with us.
🙂
There is no way I would sleep outside where there are bears. You got big balls! We don't have bears in England do you carry bear mace.
Snakes also
I usually have bear spray or a gun (spray more often) but you can't fly with the spray so all I had as a deterant was the Himalayan's horn. 🙂 I didn't have food in my camps to help limit any encounters. Other than that, yeah, a bit of a risk, but bear attacks, especially in that scenario, are very rare.
By the way Tea Pea, my wife and I returned home from Thanksgiving with her family with 3 new tea pots. 1 for the cabin and 2 for home. They are getting use! 😉
Im glad to hear it, keep the videos coming they are great. I had a look at a Royal Enfield here in the UK I have to say they really do look great but I love my CRF250L way too much. Keep calm and drink tea.
Will do! 😃☕
I can't wait to see more of this! These are some amazing views and that bike is beautiful! Your videos are really selling this bike and the production is just awesome. Thank you!
Hi Amy! Thanks!
I'm not a pro at this video stuff, so it's really nice to hear such positive feedback.
Part 5 is on the way very soon.
Are you interested in the Himalayan, or did you just happen across this series by accident?
Very Nice video. As usual waiting for next part...(Part-5).
What a start to Sunday morning..
Awesome vid. As I was expecting. The place looks gorgeous.
Beautiful roads and great drive. The mountains are awesome. Bit anxious with your camping... Elks can easily tip off the bike on you. Take care. I love everything with the Royal Enfield .... Enjoyed the 350cc standard some years ago. Only yesterday I accidentally found your channel and aam loving it. God bless you.
Thanks for the kind words. Some new material on the way. Take care!
I Just watched all 4 parts and love every moment, can't wait for the next one.
Awesome!
I'm on my way out to the cabin. I'll be watching some of your stuff as well from there. 👍
Beauty all around makes your videos more mesmerizing
Awesome, loved seeing that bear
Thanks for this awesome video. This confirms that this bike it's a really good choice!! 😀✌
I think so! 🍻 Cheers!
Sweet views and wild life , does it get any better ! Thanx for bringing us along , lookin forward to next vid safe ride . Hope life is getting back to normal after that quake .
Oh yes, just your average winter for the most part. STILL getting aftershock multiple times per day though. Nothing past 5.0.
Much more wildlife coming up in Part 5!
Good to see you again
What a trip. Great video, especially the drone views.
Years ago my son and I went north from Washington to Prince George. From Prince George we headed west to Prince Rupert. In Prince Rupert we caught the ferry (Alaska Marine Highway) to Skagway. From Skagway we headed east until we picked up the Cassiar Highway near Watson Lake. Then down the Cassiar Highway to Hyder, back east to Prince George and ultimately back down to our home Washington. I have decided it is time for another trip up north. I think I will follow your route this time.
Your choice of motorcycles brings up a question I have been asking myself lately. Do we really need all of the overkill found in motorcycles lately? A relatively small and light weight bike in my mind is the true "retro bike" taking us back to what motorcycling was years ago. That Himalayan is a cool bike.
Sounds like a great father-son trip! I'm glad I may have helped spark your wanting to do another trip north.
And yeah, if people let go of ego and tendencies to get in a hurry, a smaller bike can be a blast.
@@KARMAkazeMoto What route or highways did you take for this trip? I hope to ride my Klr from Oklahoma to Alaska some day. Looks like you took some good roads.
Hey friend, another great video and thanks for sharing . What can I say Bears,Buffalo and that staggering scenery I envy you. Stay safe.
Thanks again Bradster!
Lots and lots of love from India.. I'm in love with your videos.. Awaiting Next one !!
Was waiting for P4. What a great video. Keep Going Strong Sir
So good to hear. I'm my own worst critic, so it's good to get positive feedback, especially after pulling an all-nighter to wrap this up and publish. 🙂
Was eagerly waiting for this and it was as usual awesome . scenic ride and beautiful wildlife. The bear 🐻 cub ,bisons and elks near to the road are amazing to watch. Waiting for the P5. Thanks and Cheers 👍😊
Thanks again RoyalBob!
The next video will have some grizzlies. 🙂
KARMAkaze Moto looking forward. We have various bears in India but not those big grizzly bears. Our Himalayan Brown Bear 🐻 comes some what close I think.
@@Royalbob123 I did some quick research. Your Hima Brown is a little smaller than our Grizzly Bears, but not by a lot. They are VERY similar. Our Grizzlies are smaller than our Coastal Brown Bear and Kodiak Bear. Those are the big ones! They eat a lot of salmon and grow huge.
KARMAkaze Moto KARMAkaze Moto Interesting to know there are bigger bear species. Shall google/youtube coastal and Kodaik bears. Thanks 👍😊
@@Royalbob123 Fun fact, the interior Grizzly is genetically the same as the Coastal Brown. The difference is their diet. Sort of like how body builders eat lots of protein. Coastal bears bulk up on fish.
Great footage you make ! What a beautifull country you live in man. And the bike ... I am seriously considering of buying one ... grts, Frank
Thanks Frank! The Himalayan has treated me well so far. You'll like the next series that I'm just now posting. I take the bike further on from my home to the top of Alaska, on the Arctic Coast. Ran into a bit of snow and ice, but it was all worth it. Thanks again for watching and commenting! 👍🙂
wow wow wow! What an amazing series Justin. Thanks so much for sharing. Brave trip on a new bike, but love the detailed trip logging. Feels like we're there along the ride. Can't wait for the next one!
Ride safe and enjoy the amazing scenery! Greetings from a (really flat and boring) Holland...
Part 5 is a bit late with work and holidays taking priority, but it's on the way!
Thanks for watching, commenting and complimenting!
(My daughters account) Wow ! I have been eyeing the Himalayan for some time. What a ride. Rode the Al-Can in 95 on a CBR in my 20’s. MI to ANC. Your video brought back memories. Hadn’t thought of that roundabout in Grande Prairie in some time. Admire your minimalism in camping gear. Keep the videos coming and stay safe my man ! Thanks for the inspiration...
Where in MI?
I did that too when moving here, MI to AK. Was a great drive. And I believe there's a Royal Enfield dealer just north of Detroit if you're anywhere near there. Go for it! 😀
Justin. Today with you're amazing video made me dream. Thank you... i may consider visiting.
Check in if you do!
Amazing ride! what a journey you had man!!
I wish i'd live it..
Loving your film of the Himalayan.... Stunning scenery, I'm from the UK and looking to buy Himalayan in next month.... Cant wait to have some adventures on it, …. Ride safe, Cheers!
Fantastic!
If you end up making your own video on your new Himalayan, and want to come back here to share a link on one of my videos, that is totally fine by me. All in good fun!
Awesome! waiting for part 5👍👍👍
Spetacular views!! I can see why you say it was your best ride. Amazing experience must've been. Can't wait to see the videos of the Himalayan in Alaska!
Sure looks like an awesome trip.
I loved it. Would do it again, only slower.
thank you, you inspire me to start my journey :) all the best
Fantastic scenery.
Amazing video and beautiful roads. Looking forward to your next video.
Nice to see mother nature in pure form Awesome video love it safe journey
Fantastic scenery, fantastic riding. Hope I make a trip very soon.
A joy to watch, nicely put together video, look forward to the next one.
Thank you , the videos are only getting better! I live in Manitoba and have done the drive in that area of B.C. and Alberta and is beauty at its best. Looking forward to your next video and hope all is well at home after the earthquake. CHEERS
Yes, we picked up the pieces... literally. Fitbit said I got my heart rate up to a record high that day, so that's good. 😀
Great memories revived as I did that trip in 2011, just when you think it can't get any more spectacular you turn the next corner and it is!
Good to see the bike is going great and also to hear you got through the shake up fine.
Did you also ride to Alaska or just the Banff/Jasper area?
KARMAkaze Moto, no, just toured around the Banff and Jasper areas, lake Louise etc.
Roger. Well could spend an entire month in that area and easily keep yourself occupied. 🙂
Very nice parts! Seems the RE held up pretty well on the highways!!!
