Don't understand why people want female astartes. Sisters of battle are legitimately cool as their own thing.

Realistically, a female space marine would probably look like a man anyway. Think what female body builders look like, and multiply that to ridiculous levels. Space Marines are so different to normal humans that the starting point of any human would probably give the same result.

Have some of it glory based? For example, the character you create, as a neophyte does something that saves his entire squad from some necrons , so he's decorated and starts with his augmentation. The idea you have sounds like something we all could enjoy.

Except that space marines being male only is itself a retcon. In the early days of 40k, there were female space marine miniatures. Apparently they sold so poorly that they were written out of the lore later.

from what I understand the most looked-for aspect in an aspirant is an iron will, an unbreakable spirit and determination. The gene seed implants will take care of the rest but the will of the young recruit is what will make them stand out.

I think of the Space Wolves as what you get when you artificially keep an old warrior culture alive, long past its extinction. Like they, as with many other marines, are putting on a bastardized farce of a life that would have died out long ago. But what would marines know, they are just pre-adolescents at heart packed up with other pre-adolescents.

kind of a stupid question but is teh space marine permanently trapped inside the power armor or do they take it off when not in the warzone?
Yes
They can take off the armor, which official w40k videos but also the codex have shown.
however most space marines really dont have time to be able to relax.
I don't think they are permanently molded on. You could roll a chaos mutation where that happens, and either a weapon or your armour becomes some unholy symbiotic thing. Or you could roll a mutation where you walk like John Cleese.
Dreadnoughts are walking coffins of eternal terror where some sod is permanently hooked into a life support system. They are unable to get out.

I mostly didn't think of them. They were so far removed from what actually mattered to the players. The players need to know how Mutie Bob runs a smuggle ring for canned meat or how to take and hold Building 227.

I want some freak occurrence where all the work done produces a normal sized soldier with all of the ultramarines abilities but because hes not 9 feet tall and looks normal hes like a infiltration specialist
I turn 50 this year but, I have enough titanium and Kevlar stitching holding me together that I would truly consider being used to finish “fixing” my military injuries if I could get a big boost from from it .
