I can almost hear how one or two of the Islands near alien rock park cry out for a golf course. I believe you did one in TeaVille. Who wouldnt love to get on the next Ryanair flight out of Luton to go and play golf in the tropical wonderland of New Tealand?
Hi Biffa. You have no buses connected to your nice big bus depot at the back of the train station. Will it be a good idea to run a bus around your new shopping district and back to the Depot and maybe connect your original home-made depot. Also I don’t think the trains are stopping at the train station
Had the same thoughts. The game may have automatically readded the stops but it won't hurt to make sure. Not using the bus terminal is a bit strange though. OTOH it might be worth waiting for how the left hand side turns out and create the lines then. After all traffic isn't horrible right now.
People were saying on previous episodes that Move It Mod's "reset" button does not work in this case. Even though the tracks are back in place the station is completely bricked. It needs to be demolished & rebuilt.
the "lake" by the shore where you put the bird sanctuary would be a great place for a park i.e. beach area . also for a ocean side city you have no marinas' I live 2 or 3 miles from the ocean and there are at least 4 near me :-)
But is has al of those. I mean it has a train stop, it has as bus stop, no metro though but pedastrians and bikers can bike and walk on the pavement next to the roads.
My ONLY complaint about this particular build would be no path from that great big parking garage to the road just twenty feet (6 meters) across from it - people parking there have to walk ALL the way around to get to the shopping. In the real world, you _know_ people will be walking across the grass there.
28:30 - I think it would be a nice touch if you used cherry tree props along there, since those are from the Japan content creator pack. I mean, it looks good as-is, but it's one of those subtle things that would make it flow just a bit better. And you could even call it Cherry Tea shopping district.
Glad that you are still working on New Tealand. This city is really outstanding. You inspired me to start on the same map, and although it does not look as good as yours, I am really happy with how it turns out. I learned a lot watching you play, not only for traffic fixes. To summarize: thanks Biffa, and keep up with the good stuff
2nd attempt, and final one 😂 Put some street light in the old factory to beautify it, it sure make it look alive ♥️ Regardless of you find this as a good suggestion, i absolutely love your content Biffa! Learned so much from you!
@@worldpeace6322 chiar fff mult ma joc :)) Cred ca este jocul in care mi pot descarca nervii pe care i am adunat pe infrastructura proasta din tara noastra 🤣✊
Nothing major but the road that was originally elevated over the tracks by the station which you brought to ground level, you missed a small piece in the middle of the road that is still a bridge. Doubt it will cause problems, just wanted to let you know.
There's a problem with the asian restaurants along the road by the shopping area. They all have parking lots, but the tree lines road has a grass strip running along it, so now all the customers will drive straight across the green to get there. These would go better with a frontage road or a different type of road that has no vegetation on it. You can always add a tree line separately after the fact.
6:16 And that's a 4% grade. "Realistic", people will tell you, is 1%. That's a LOT of running room to make some pretty insignificant altitude adjustments. Roads aren't much better; 6% is the maximum allowed and mostly we "should be" going no steeper than that 4% that you just set the rails to. It's HARD following those rules.
I love following this city's growth. Few things i wanted to say: 1- love your 'dad-ness'. The way you speak and your unique words are "faantastic!'. 2- I wish cities were as green and leafy as the ones you build. I'd love to live here. 3- in front of the new malls you have the tree lined road and then some spare area in front. I think you should use that space for a nice pedestrian/bike path to connect all of the malls.
25:24 That would've been a GREAT kind of walking plaza thing with a path going down the middle of those trees. Imagine cafes, restaurants, benches lining up the side, flowers, fountains etc.
Hi biffa. I’m always amazed by how you decorate so well with trees and other things. You always time lapse this so please could you do a segment or even a whole episode explaining your thought process behind making the masterpieces?
hello Biffa, you forgot to set the dedicated turning lanes at 15:03 :p and you should place some fountain plaza´s near the mall´s :D, i am just loving how it turns out this city
The little ‚grabber‘ icon you were wondering about can be used to add buttons to the UnifiedUI Panel by clicking on them. I think it‘s a good feature but the way they did it is quite confusing
Biffa, those floating boulders could be a whole map theme. All of them could have an alien theme like ETea Point, ETea Industrial, ETea Multiplex, ETea Entertainment... If you found more around your map, you could use them to sorta bring the whole city/map together.
Overcharged Egg mentioned that they put taxis down in the tourism areas as from their experience that's the only time the taxis really get used. Heard that yesterday, don't know if it's fully legit though but wanted to mention it to ya 😊
Just be careful to not over-use warehouses - I just made that mistake (I was producing WAY too many goods). I built so many warehouses all over the map that I went from exporting 7K+ goods to exporting less than 500 goods; too much storage leads to the game hoarding when it should be exporting. Still, having at least one warehouse near shopping areas is a good idea.
The tourist trap area is giving off a big Las Vegas vibe especially with the tall trees running parallel with the road for a stretch there. So I suggest naming it Las Teagas
24:42 - The entire time I was looking at this stretch of green, I was thinking of Palisades Park in Santa Monica, California. It's this park that stretches along the busy tourist street of Ocean Blvd, overlooking the Pacific Ocean above the bluffs. Great place to walk, jog, yoga, bike, etc. I think that line of trees should be a leisure walking park.
9:08 that area needs extra connection, no doubt. I just think roundabout should be turned into ovalabout. The only thing you can build here without collapsing everything is...a forest. Those mini-roundabouts might work better in oval shape, too. And, please, check that pebble-stoned coast. If you can grab and copy that piece, it would be nice substitution of quay walls, they look marvellous.
Hi Biffa love your series, you could put some more trams in your city, especially along the coast, instead of tons of busses. I think this would look nice.
I can't push myself to allow so much "wasted space" (= not zoned), but I have to admit that together with the detailing it looks really nice. Well done!
Name suggestion: "Bird's NesTea Shopping Square". You have a bird paradise and a shopping mall that resembles me a nest. I think the name would go well there.
The new area looks great! But I think there are a few network "errors" left: 1. Your elevated rails near the station could use some more pillars, now parts are "hanging" in the air. 2. When you attached the small road to the crossing (around 14:50) you did not reassign dedicated lanes. I think now your normal traffic cannot enter that small road from the crossing, only buses and emergency vehicles can. Maybe that is what you want, but I don't think that was deliberate. 3. I think you put a two-way road before the curved mall that is attached to two one-way roads. I am not sure that will work the way you want. 4. Some of the roads around the parking areas are "under" the high-speed rails when the rail isn't really elevated. I don't think cars will fit. Is that the look you were going for (old roads, rail got upgraded, roads didn't)?
I am a big fan of Japanese architecture and culture in general and it really makes me sad that you just plopped down most of the Japanese theme buildings instead of making a Japanese district or even a neighborhood. I believe that with the theme manager and some Japanese assets like sakura trees, temples, etc you would have made an incredible Japanese theme area. Don't get me wrong i love your videos that's why i watch every single one of them but since you have all of the content creator packs and you are using a ton of mods you should use them more efficiently :D
Hi Biffa, just a few things I noticed :-1/ no trains are stopping at the station in the new area.. 2/ the road under the rail line near the water actually looks lower than the water level so maybe add a barricade along the water front to stop flooding. 3/ would trams be usefull in the new area ?
Hi Biffa, just a couple of things I think are needed. 1. The road you have going from the university to the main road that leads into the shopping district goes drop a bike path road to normal then back to bike path road. 2. I think you need a walkway or two across the trainline to encourage the residents to walk over there rather then drive around. Or a bus line.
I think the lagoon where you put the bird park would make a really nice natural sanctuary or a corniche. Also you should turn the tourist trap into a district so people can refer to it more easily. Really nice build Biffa, been my favourite since the Area of Natural Beauty episodes.
Since the new area has a japanese touch, I would suggest the name "Gyokuro Ginza". Named after the Japanese tea and the famous shopping street in Tokyo.
1. Looks great! 2. No trains are stopping at the station. 3. Rail should be elevated the whole stretch of this area, and you could have some walking paths to the other side.
For any potential Cities Skylines 2 the biggest thing I would look for is a multiplayer option. Specifically a much more massive map that comprises of several normal sized maps. Similar to the overworld of frostpunk, but with each other node being another player's city. You could work out connections between cities, manage trade and specializations, and generally be either cooperative or competitive as you like. That oughta be a pile of fun.
To continue the fine alliteration of 'top tourist trap', can I suggest the new area be called 'TeaTea Land'. Put some bars on the waterfront, and I'm sure the area will be even more popular.
Biffa, I was thinking you could use some of the flower beds from the Park Life DLC to 'beautify' some areas. It is what I use in Vanilla on console, because we don't have access to all of the steam trees and bushes. Loving the way the city is turning out.
Excellent! You've built a lovely district ready to draw tourists in right when CPP's Verde' Beach has suffered a huge setback due to multiple disasters (fire, tsunami, tornado, more fire even during a rainstorm!) Tourists who vacationed in VB will definitely fly into New Tealand. Time to extend the Tearantula - Stadium - Glass Box line under the harbour (Mersey Sound?) to the Oak Transit Hub. Name for the new area? 🤔🤔🤔 How about Souchong Shores named after Lapsang Souchong Tea?
The new posh area should be called “Oftly Lof-Tea Heights” Lof-Tea = Lofty (1a : elevated in character and spirit : noble lofty ideals. b : elevated in status)
Hey Biffa, the new areas that you have just created look really awesome! :) There is one road underneath the railwayline, where the railway is too low (in between the two malls behind the car parking) I think you should add some public transport to the area from the hub. I mean, yes they might walk there, but it would add a little something ;) Maybe a cable car would look great in this region, although there are no mountains - it looks modern and doesnt fill your streets like busses :) the line could easily follow the alley! I would love to see this getting added in one of your next episodes ;)
It might destroy the views, but a monorail or tram along “Rotea-o Drive” with all the malls could be a good mass transit solution for all the visitors. Or maybe some underground Metro stops?
Using the Move-it mod to move buildings more than just a nudge tends to break them, especially the spawn points if there was a big elevation change (you can fix them simply by resetting them to Zero with the _Building Spawn Points_ mod), but if a building was in any sort of zone you need to just rebuild it - the game can't handle a building changing zones; I completely borked my airport doing that. I've also read that people have done it by moving parks, and would assume it would happen to Campus' as well.
You pointed out at 9:05 that the road should really be connected to the one on the other side of the railway. Please connect it, I'm dying to see how much it changes the traffic flow in that area, my guess is it would help it a lot. :)
Hey Biffa at 5:20 you forgot to also change the middle segment of the road back to ground level. Because of that there are the weird markings instead of the nice transition from the asymmetric roads.
I think, that huge stone between Asian Restaurants and railway perfectly fits to Alien Rock Park...😉 And maybe elevate railway, because it's brigded anyway and add some walking pathes under it?
idk how much further into the city you plan on expanding, but for next city terrain request is extreme hills!! would be cool to see more of the funiculars being used! Loving both series so far! Keep them up! :)
I finally bought Cities yesterday. Spent way too much time making my city. It's looking pretty good so far. No mods, so my roads are a bit weird, but i can live with that. I love this game. Was making an oil industry, and suddenly i had several million in the bank. I blame Biffa for teaching me what to be aware of and what not to do. I have a severe need for industry though, even with 5star farming and forest, and 3 star oil. So much offices as well. I will prevail in the ned, but i love this game!
In front of the shopping centers, where you have the green space with trees on. You could stretch a walking path and have trees lining the side near the malls. It would look cool, similar to a Spanish city.
Nice episode and i did love the ”japanese teagarden” around the temple/small road ☺️ one add-on idea for more connectivity. On the grand mall area you could do walking path under the rail to have one more connection to otherside (forrest heights) of the rail and maybe add taxi stand near mall too
Hi Biffa! I am loving your vids! But something I noticed is that you have that nice bus terminal, but no buses connected to it, even though it would help a ton with any potential traffic in that area with all the shops and such.
Looks great, I love this city and series! Makes me wish I had a strong enough PC to play with mods. I’m stuck on console for now. Keep up the good work!
7:24 "Lets move some trees out of the way" Yes just SOME, cos there is still a bunch of trees still on the road. LOL. Good Job New Tealand Road Commission.
Lovely shopping area Biffa, I think a few walking paths over/under the railway linking to it would be a great addition. Also, at the new crossroad junction by Myrtle square, people can't go into the university area due to the dedicated turning lanes, and I don;t know if you meant for it to be that way.
You can turn on 'place blocked props' in prop line tool to place props when they have the yellow circles around them! (I've said props too many times!) :)
How about picking up some beach assets, like beach parks, umbrellas, lifeguard towers, boat and marina props? I think these will fit perfectly in the city
I noticed something off; none of trains stop at the station; either you never gave any of the lines a stop at the station, or the station fix messed up the stops. Also, since this is a tourist trap inter cities should be allowed, shouldn't it? It just annoys out of towers to bypass their shopping destination and then have to go back with a local train; which is also cost for the city, both the additional traffic on the trains maybe requiring more trains; and all the car traffic that comes in to avoid that hassle. Perhaps that means removing the intercity from the next stop on over?
Brilliant build Biffs👌👌👌👌 The area looks amazing. Love to see night markets in there as well I think they would fit in brilliantly. The city is really taking shape nicely
Looks great but I would have moved those tall trees in front of the malls to the opposite side and put in some large flowerbeds in front of them so you could see them as you drove down the road. I have seen places that have their name written out in flowers and through it was cool but not sure something like that is possible. Would love to see some gas stations and perhaps some different resturants like McDonald's and other things. They are literally everywhere. Also a harbor for cruise ships to come in would be good. Probably happens in a later episode but I really wanted to comment on this one.
Biffa did you know that honey which is produced by cities bees is actually worth more than honey which is produced in the countryside? There is basically less pollution in the city than in the countryside, because city people dont use toxins to kill insects, like the farmers do on their fields. Plus there is a higher variety of flowers, blossoms etc.
Name suggestion. "TEA-nstown" after Queenstown New Zealand. :) I'd like to imagine/pretend that all the teens would come hang out at all the shopping centres in this newly built area. Love your work 🙌😁
The whole point of a tourist trap is to get a high-volume traffic of pedestrian tourists going to the tourist attraction, passing by all the shop and restaurants and spending their money there. Except you haven't built any shops! I mean, you've built the shopping center and malls, but those function like parks in the game, I think, not commercial buildings. So you need to build shops there. Or rather zone some commercial zones. Also, does it make sense to build 3 malls right next to each-other? Shouldn't you pace yourself and spread them around some?
This new area looks so amazing! it's very beautiful, I love it! Something that you could add is some pedestrian paths to help people cross from one side of the train line to the other
Maybe I missed this out, but it wil be nice if you will build pedestrian promenade in the center of one of your newly districts. Mabe a central squre with small shops around it and next to the promenades, only used by pedestrians. It will add a nice touch to your city. If I remember correctly, there's also one option with trams.
Dedicated turning lanes missing on the Highway crossover bridge near Myrtle district. Also, traffic lights on the new Avenue that has all the new shopping buildings.

Name for the new area? 🤔🤔🤔 How about Souchong Shores named after Lapsang Souchong Tea?
The new posh area should be called “Oftly Lof-Tea Heights”
Lof-Tea = Lofty (1a : elevated in character and spirit : noble lofty ideals. b : elevated in status)
Could also name the road in front of the malls “Lof-Tea Boulevard”
Could also add the Posh mall somewhere in there, unless I missed him adding it somewhere else in the city.
Hey Biffa, the new areas that you have just created look really awesome! :)
There is one road underneath the railwayline, where the railway is too low (in between the two malls behind the car parking)
I think you should add some public transport to the area from the hub. I mean, yes they might walk there, but it would add a little something ;) Maybe a cable car would look great in this region, although there are no mountains - it looks modern and doesnt fill your streets like busses :) the line could easily follow the alley! I would love to see this getting added in one of your next episodes ;)
Good job biffa! Why don't you make some walking paths under the railway? Also, you can make a beach in front of the lake!
That grabber (the pin) in the unified UI allows you to put other icons in there, namely the weather icon in the bottom right of your screen Biffa 💗
It might destroy the views, but a monorail or tram along “Rotea-o Drive” with all the malls could be a good mass transit solution for all the visitors. Or maybe some underground Metro stops?
At least a few taxi stands around the malls
I think a busses from the big all bus station that is now completely unused would be a better idea.
Rotea-o Drive sounds really nice
tram is good..nothing elevated pls…..so no monorails….
Dudes got a 6 head
"Bjorn Huggoson" is absolutely brilliant! It's been awhile, my friend, it seems I have some catching up to do! Time for a Biffa Binge!
33:54 You're on a roll, here. Keep up the good work, Biffa of the past, I know you will!
That small area that pokes out near the transport hub you were working on is the perfect area for the Statue of LiberTEA!
the name for the neighborhood I thought of « Sencha bay » as a neighborhood gives the impression of being in Japan and is a sencha is Japanese tea
9:52 a car learns to fly to enter the yellow car park!
I was wondering if anyone else caught that.
I think we miss a train stop on that train station.. the yellow trains just pass through it
I think, that huge stone between Asian Restaurants and railway perfectly fits to Alien Rock Park...😉
And maybe elevate railway, because it's brigded anyway and add some walking pathes under it?
idk how much further into the city you plan on expanding, but for next city terrain request is extreme hills!! would be cool to see more of the funiculars being used! Loving both series so far! Keep them up! :)
Amazing building Biffa! Looking so great. Please check if you put stops at the elevated train station. Feel like I didn't see any trains stop there
I finally bought Cities yesterday.
24:45 Water feature. Reflecting pool. Little lagoon. Don't you miss flooding things by accident once in a while?
In front of the shopping centers, where you have the green space with trees on. You could stretch a walking path and have trees lining the side near the malls. It would look cool, similar to a Spanish city.
Nice episode and i did love the ”japanese teagarden” around the temple/small road ☺️ one add-on idea for more connectivity. On the grand mall area you could do walking path under the rail to have one more connection to otherside (forrest heights) of the rail and maybe add taxi stand near mall too
This is was a actually beautiful build! Well done, Biffa! My stress levels are down to 10%.
Nothing better than watching biffa right before bed
7:24 "Lets move some trees out of the way"
Yes just SOME, cos there is still a bunch of trees still on the road. LOL. Good Job New Tealand Road Commission.
I think this area could do with another road connection to the nearby neighborhood in the middle of that long avenue. Beautiful build!
Lovely shopping area Biffa, I think a few walking paths over/under the railway linking to it would be a great addition. Also, at the new crossroad junction by Myrtle square, people can't go into the university area due to the dedicated turning lanes, and I don;t know if you meant for it to be that way.
Think the amount of trees Biffa has planted in all his cities combined would save our planet!
Biffa and City Planner could save the world with the amount of trees they plant in CS
Nice job on the new area. Pretty sure they all act as Unique Buildings though, and don't require goods to sell, so you don't need the warehouse.
You can turn on 'place blocked props' in prop line tool to place props when they have the yellow circles around them! (I've said props too many times!) :)
Props to you 👍
I like all the trees, but maybe adding some color around the bee haven would bring it to life in that area.
That gap in between the road and shopping district is screaming for a tram line in there. Lovely as always.
How about picking up some beach assets, like beach parks, umbrellas, lifeguard towers, boat and marina props? I think these will fit perfectly in the city
Wow, those night shots really let you see how much this has been filled in.
Heya Biffa! 27:45 I sense an Alien Rock waiting to be lifted from the ground! :D
Biffa please mix it up with the fences. That wooden farm fence looks weird in the middle of the city ; )
Name suggestion. "TEA-nstown" after Queenstown New Zealand. :)
I'd like to imagine/pretend that all the teens would come hang out at all the shopping centres in this newly built area.
5:28 That middle piece of the road is still set as a bridge.
If your city has too many dogs, remember to place some barking lots.
It's also a known fact that dogs don't like parallel barking and don't pay their barking tickets 🤣
BOL
This new area looks so amazing! it's very beautiful, I love it! Something that you could add is some pedestrian paths to help people cross from one side of the train line to the other
The green area near the shops is perfect for the “Flowery Passages”- they are basically made for putting in places like that!
Brilliant. love the burst of creativity here. wish i could spend a day walking and driving around the new area.
