What a fantastic experience!! To see and photograph a snow leopard in its natural habitat is such a priceless gift. What a great memory for you!! Thank you for sharing it with us!
I just LOVE the superficially “simple and minimalistic” images that have so many layers of natural beauty once one spends more than a second to appreciate and take it all in!
I appreciate that so much more work went into this video than I can realistically imagine. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to you, Thomas, for your dedication to your craft. Your hours of toil, distilled into videos like these, are really a treat to us who watch you and wish we could get out and pursue our photographic passions with as much opportunity, zeal, and expertise as yourself. I can't help but model my aspirations for my future and continued photographic career after your example. Please do not stop.
Thank you Tom - so grateful that you take us on trips like this, something that never in my wildest dreams I could do personally. And that Snow Leopard - just magnificent!
From Spain to Mongolia, what a life. Congrats Tom, you are living the dream. I think those abstract landscapes look dreamy and very commercially appealing for super large prints in high end interior decor.
My wife Dominique thought I was watching Tottenham on TV "oh my god" "you've got to see this Dee!" . Wow. I can only imagine that trying to put into words what you were seeing , smelling , feeling , experiencing was not easy. Big , spectacular , empty and wild are words that come to mind but no doubt, don't do it justice. Fantastic. Worth the wait. The pictures were mesmerising 👍🏾
I remember seeing Mongolia through the Long Way Round TV series by Ewan McGregor and thinking to myself, Why don't more people travel to this beautiful place? And now, seeing your amazing film about the place, I am truly in awe of the beauty of Mongolia. What an amazing land it is.
I flew over Mongolia several years ago and from the window at 36k feet it looked spectacular. Would love to visit there one day. Thanks for taking us on this journey Thomas.
Wow, wow, wow!!!!!!!! Those landscape images are beyond words really. And that shot of the snow leopard looking back over its shoulder. Stunning moment to have started off time there. Thomas that was definitely worth the wait, and I can so appreciate why you wanted to get to the editing right!
Did anybody tell you before the Iceland wildlife shoot that rare animal siting shoots are one of the most "endorphin producing" experiences you will ever encounter... aka.. addicting!!! Now here you are, landscape photographer, going for it full throttle in Mongolia of all places... I would expect you, definitely, have no regrets about your expanded repertoire. Go for it!!! We all certainly enjoy living your experiences through your personal lens! Cheers!!!
Great Video Thomas 5:53 Fantastic Image 6:01 Brilliant composition 12:17 Great texture and layers 12:31 Fabulous Monochrome, 12:25 Love the Pink 13:39 WOW!!! what an image, 17:35, love the colour progression! 17:38 quite mystic 18:11 there's nothing like a panorama! Thanks for sharing
I watched your first videos, I got your first calendar, read your ebook, to see this and your trip to Svalbard gives me great joy, I don’t think you thought it would lead to this, and good for you mate, you deserve it all and more.
Stellar work. And no mention of presets, no sensationalist statements and, most importantly, 100% authentic. Just taking us along for the journey and probably working your arse off doing so, because handling all that is...problematic. Hope you had a great time and looking forward to any adventures, far away or within a day's driving distance!
I am in love with the pink landscape at 13:39 the same you had in your newsletter. I call dibs on the first edition if it ever goes to print. Thank you for taking us with you on your journey!
Great footage. Lots of afforts behind. Your excitement and enthusiasm is a great inspiration power to me Thomas. Thanks for sharing such great moments.
Being able to capture a snow leopard on your first day is crazy! Amazing colours and fantastic shots as always. Thanks for sharing this experience with us!
Thomas, I'm only six minutes into this video and it's already been epic. Such an adventure!! Can't wait to finish the video. I'm going to watch it slowly and savor every moment! Thanks so much for taking us along.
Thanks for the great video Thomas. You’re so lucky to have had the opportunity to see a snow leopard in the wild. Thank you for sharing those amazing images with us. The landscape there looks so amazing. I Look forward to the next instalment. 😎
Spectacular images, Thomas! So lucky to see and photograph a Snow Leopard! Very grateful you’re taking us on this wonderful journey of yours. Look forward to seeing more!
What and amazing experience this is, and what a truly beautiful animal the Snow Leopard is. They certainly do know how to blend into their environment.
Some of the best images and videography I have ever seen. The images of that vast landscape give me goosebumps, the wilds and barrenness of the place stirs up a strange feeling of hopeless expanse akin to the worlds that so many great fantasy novels describe.
Every time there is anything about Mongolia it always looks amazing. I don't know if you have seen the Grand Tour Mongolia special but the area those 3 fools were in was stunning.
What beautiful creatures they are! I remember watching a BTS mini documentary for BBC's Planet Earth, in which a guy was living in a tiny hut for several weeks, just waiting for a snow leopard to appear so he could get the shot. You're very lucky to have seen one so quickly! I just realised that I'm now 24 videos behind current, having got out of the habit of UA-cam for a few months - but I look forward to catching up with your latest escapades! :)
As always excellent video and incredible imagery. Mongolia and Afghanistan are incredible countries, and you’ve captured Mongolia so well. Very happy for you as well capturing that snow leopard👌🏻
Definitely the most eagerly anticipated video for me so far this year! What an amazing place! So barren, but with stunning beauty all around. The images you have shared are beautiful. I'm now eagerly waiting for your next instalment!!
Absolutely amazing. Your best video ever. Landscape incredible but that snow leopard and the way it moves sublime. Definitely a video for multiple repeat watches.
Pictures of animals are all well and good but I'm never going to put one on my wall. But those landscape shots at sunrise and the pano, those were well worth waiting for. Absolutely lovely.
Man O man did your excitement come through! What an opening! A dinky di Snow Leopard, congratulations Thomas. The lunch time panos were to die for, surely some of your best.
Snow leopard photos it's all right, but the favorite photos for me is landscape. What a view !!! that's why Mongolia is my dream country to visit. Thank you Thomas for video !!!
Hey Thomas, I was anticipating this vlog and you did not disappoint; your shots are BEAUTIFUL! From the wonderfully captured snow leopard shots, to the colored morning landscape pics, that seriously striking black and white shot, to those gorgeous abstract paint brush looking pictures, they are all such strong images. Including your previous awesome pier water shots, you with your Z8 are starting the year with spectacular compositions! I look forward to your next video. Thanks for taking us along on this interesting excursion.
must have felt so fulfilling making those squares, great photography-joy. ah what perfection. absolute perfection. that last image of the snow leopard- so moving. wouldn't have left, had i done such a trip! not only an introverts dream, all that vast space but ah been in love with all things Mongol for a lifetime, would have wished they would adopt me as one of their own! love the way they sound when they speak and their values and well everything. Mongol, the film made in 2007 by Bodrov was an obsession too, all those lovely stills and epic-ness. ☺thank you so much, once again, Thomas. One day I'll have alll your books and many prints, to repay you. ☺
Wow!!! those are stunning landscape images you got there and also that majestic snow leopard is stunning. I really love the painting-ish look of those images you took. Wow just wow
Wow what an amazing adventure and experience to see a snow leopard in its own environment. I enjoyed every minute of the video as usual. Some amazing image's an footage of the leopard. Look forward to the next episode.
Altay is a very beautiful place, indeed. I'm glad that Thomas shared it with his audience, probably more people will visit and see those mountains. It lays across four countries - Mongolia, China, Kazakhstan and Russia. I'm glad that a good part of it is from the Russian side and I can go there any time. I've been there once, in last September, and it was so exiting, I was almost jumping on the driver seat of my car while driving through mountains because of views that opened to my sight. I will definitely return to this region. A great place from whatever country of the four you approach it.
Such a great experience. It is amazing how animals blend in with the landscape and the Snow Leopard is no different. What a beautiful cat. Great images. You will remember this trip for a very very long time. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Thomas, I am so glad that you had a chance to make this trip and to take us along. It was good that you got some magnificent shots of the snow leopard on the first day. The pressure was off. Now you could shoot anything you wanted to without feeling guilty and possibly get even more snow leopard shots later. The landscape pictures were otherworldly. Beautiful beyond words. I also appreciated the shots around camp and inside the yurt. The food made me hungry just looking at the pictures. What a wonderful adventure. I'm looking forward to the next installment.
I'm from Yukon, Canada. Close range observation of large mammals is pretty common. Immense unpopulated landscapes are a norm that people travel the globe to witness. But that first leopard clip .... Wow! What a beautiful creature. Wolves, cougars and grizzly are plain in comparison. I never envy others' good fortune but I do applaud it. Thanks for sharing.
I hope you had a great time, you are getting to experience something that most of us nature photographers would give up a body part to be able to see even once in a lifetime. I'm sure you'll make the most of it.
Thomas I feel your joy on this trip , the images are epic and it looks already that your efforts are producing some career best images , can’t wait for next years Calendar! Don’t know how you top this trip but you probably will with your sheer determination to go where no lens has gone before .
What a fantastic experience!! To see and photograph a snow leopard in its natural habitat is such a priceless gift. What a great memory for you!! Thank you for sharing it with us!
Couldn't agree more, it was incredible.
The 2nd snow leopard image where it was looking back over its shoulder towards the camera, and the pano from the camp. Simply spectacular.
Thanks a lot. I was happy with both of those 👍
I just LOVE the superficially “simple and minimalistic” images that have so many layers of natural beauty once one spends more than a second to appreciate and take it all in!
Couldn't agree more!

Snow leopards are beautiful animals. To see one in it's natural habitat and get some photos and footage is an amazing privilege for you.
I'm happy for you Thomas. I was born not far from Mongolia and I had the same feeling when I was in your neck of the woods in Snowdonia.
Smiling when you were setting up to capture the snow leopard...still smiling now, awesome, that is why I do photography
Glad you enjoyed it👍
This is the most incredible location. You are setting the bar high with this one. 👏👏👏
Who needs a snow leopard when you have an environment like that! Those images you captured are just stunning.
Certainly worth the wait. Thanks Tom
Thank you Tom - so grateful that you take us on trips like this, something that never in my wildest dreams I could do personally. And that Snow Leopard - just magnificent!
Worth the wait, Tom! (They always are!!)
Love, love, love it. What a great place to visit and fantastic experience with the Snow Leopard, soooo jealous!
Man I was born and raised there. I've been away from home for a while. Thanks for this video😢
Great work showing that there’s good images possible in the middle of the day. Those leopard photos are powerful
From Spain to Mongolia, what a life. Congrats Tom, you are living the dream. I think those abstract landscapes look dreamy and very commercially appealing for super large prints in high end interior decor.
Nice one Thomas Attenborough... simply beautiful.!!!!!!!!
My wife Dominique thought I was watching Tottenham on TV "oh my god" "you've got to see this Dee!" .
Wow. I can only imagine that trying to put into words what you were seeing , smelling , feeling , experiencing was not easy.

Worth the wait.

Thanks for the Journey Thomas, stunning in every way.
That superb first Snow Leopard 🐆 image made the pastel colours of the landscape shots pale into insignificance.
What a fabulous opportunity to capture such a rare animal, and stunning landscapes.
Wonderful video, and wonderful images - thank you Thomas
First day, first sight.... how lucky are you? Congratulations.
Very, as we found out 🙂
Those long landscape shots are absolutely amazing. Very envious that you had this opportunity.
I love the nature and the natural beauty of my country
That scene from Secret Life of Walter Mitty comes to mind. Absolutely beautiful animals and landscapes. Incredible!!!
Went there in '91, we went deep into the back country on horses from our camp. I still talk about the trip to this day.
Worth the wait... Fantastic images.
This landscape it reminds me of Nevada, especially the road from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. :) Very beautiful!
Did anybody tell you before the Iceland wildlife shoot that rare animal siting shoots are one of the most "endorphin producing" experiences you will ever encounter... aka.. addicting!!!
