You should visit in the spring or summer when nature's power and life are fully displayed. It's a time when life blossoms vividly, contrasting the harsh winter depicted in your video. Witnessing countless herds of goitered gazelles and saigas, massive bustards strolling through the steppe, majestic Bactrian camels wandering gracefully against the backdrop of sunsets, Przewalski's horses, and of course, the vast herds belonging to the nomads, with their horses, sheep, goats, and cows, truly showcases the vibrant ecosystem.
Deeply appreciate you for visiting my country, Mongolia. You passion and positivity made the hard cold winter looks just nothing. All the best for your future trips. Welcome back again when the time allows. In fact I didn’t know about this wild cat
i can't express in a youtube comment how much i appreciate that you share how difficult it is for you. as an amateur photographer, it is so important to see that the pros can have a rough go as well. Especially as you are normally a landscape focused photographer, to see you branch out and shoot wildlife really really gives me hope for long-term success.
Awesome. From someone in West Australia facing a +40C day tomorrow watching someone in a -30C environment is just unimaginable but mentally cooling. Fantastic images.
Absolutely stunning. The stark beauty of isolation. Your photos of the wildlife..... priceless !!! Thank you Thomas for having us on board for this adventure as we watch from the comforts of our homes.
Think the only other video I have watched where the place has been so desolate was Morten Hilmers trip to Ellesmere Island, Canada to capture the artic wolf so it's fitting Thomas you were also looking to capture such an elusive animal as well. What a wonderful end to a very enjoyable series and I'm sure you have memories now to last a lifetime
Hahaha Thomas that is how i feel..when i walk to work for 20 minuites in -50. Yes, and from Canada Arctic. Lol..but i am sure that was a fun winter experience for you. I hope someday you get to visit yakuts...😊 not sure why they dont have skidoos in mongolia..it would be alot better than car..😅..especially cuase you dont get stuck.
Mongolia during winter! Cold -30C degree with brutal snowing wind, but nothing of that matters, when one could find and photograph a wild Cats, with the name Palla Cats Hats off for Thomas H and rest of the team that survived and shot great images🎩👍
Amazing adventure. I was expecting bigger vehicles with snow chains on the tyres. I felt really bad for your tour operator & helpers having to dig the vehicles out all the time. Bloody hard work. Your photographs from all the Mongolia videos are breathtaking. What an experience. Thanks for taking us along with you, loved it from the comfort of my warm home! LOL.
OMG I loved this video so much. Thank you Thomas. 🙏Such great photos. Yup, another Canadian here having a good chuckle well before you brought us up in the video. Just shovelled out this morning after the second storm in 12 days. The first storm lasted three days and we were 'storm stayed' for five days before we could get out to the road. Gad I'm still chuckling.🤪
You certainly out did yourself this time Thomas. This adventure was truly epic! Not sure how you kept your "cool" when you guys were stuck. Absolutely stunning photos. My wife and I had to pause your video and put on heavy sweaters to get through it!
The weather is too harsh with the cold wind on the snow and ice, but the animals here still live bravely and strong. The photos you took are very beautiful.
ikr, i always feel pity for the pigeon and sparrow in my country. They live full time in Mongolia. God knows how they don't die by mass in winter. Poor birds.
What a fantastic journey you have had, Thomas! It‘s something many of us will not see in our lifetimes. The wildlife shots were stunning as were the barren, snowy landscapes you managed to capture. It will be something you will always remember, especially the sub-zero temperatures! Beautiful video taken in terrible conditions. Thanks for taking us on this fabulous journey!
Yes, a Canadian here having a bit of a chuckle on your cold walk to the biffy. Still very impressed with what you were able to capture in those "cool" conditions.
Absolutely unbelievable work! Well done, Thomas! Honestly, I feel like this video should be running in theaters. Thank you for sharing these amazing adventures. Take care!
As usual, awesome videos of your trip to Mongolia. I enjoy the stories / story lines and explanations of why you do things people may not think about. I used to play music on the Mid-Atlantic to New England area and would always try to get to the performance location and open up my instrument cases for at least about 1/2 hour to acclimate to the temperatures and humidity before fine tuning them.
Terrific as always Thomas… I’m just taken by your skills … feel bad for you getting stuck so much, I’m very confused why they weren’t using chains on the tires. They are required in snow areas throughout the US at a certain depth, would’ve helped you all immensely
Just wonderful! The images, wow....stunning! The cats look so soft and fluffy 🤩 what an adventure that was to follow along with! Looking forward to the next one! Cheers 😄
I usually walk away from various travel/photography videos thinking about trying to do the trip myself. I’m middle-aged with a knee that has had several surgeries… but I love to adventure. I’m from Michigan, US, so I love snow too. But this video… wow. I don’t think I’ll add Mongolia winter shooting to my list. Applause to you and your group! Truly incredible! Thanks for sharing.
The third image of the Pallas cat with its face crusted in snow is incredible, what an opportunity to photograph them in their element! And, mad props for enduring that storm which seemed quite terrible even as a Canadian - wind is the killer in that situation.
Honestly Thomas each video you make just gets better and better. What a stunning animal, one l had not heard of. I have to say tears sprang to my eyes at your photos. What a great project to learn about and be part of. Thank you for sharing your adventures......Alioban❤
What are they using for fuel? Enjoyable video. Great images! Thanks Surprised you don’t have higher ground clearance on those vehicles . It would be alot easier to get around in that snow.
Tears on my eyes... really @Thomas you are my inspiration... I always tell stories about you , about your trips to my parents... they don't understand English so well but I translate all your videos to them....Hope to meet you someday...Love from Assam India 🇮🇳
Stunning shots and brrr 🥶. Living life vicariously through your updates and they are breathtaking. Makes the A66 look a breeze when it’s snowing. More of the same please. 🙏👍👏
wow no words. 😮😮 what an adventure. 😊 simply indescribable. moments like this will always be remembered. 😀😀 wonderful shots. thanks for the awesome video.
Bad weather is for sure good weather. My favorite wildlife photos have come after laying in a snow storm for 2 hours with a sleeping fox waiting for it to wake up and carry on with its life. Few inches of snow later and being able to capture this fox waking up, stretching and walking off while shaking off all the snow was something special.
Just commenting after reading your newsletter Thomas. There is a beautifully elegiac quality to the image of the Pallas cat with it's snow covered face - so it's eyes wide shut for me - wonderful image.
From what little I’ve see of your wildlife photography I’ve always been impressed with what you’ve shared, hopefully you’ll be posting more in the future. Thank you for all of the great work and videos!
Wow just wow. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures over this trip. Such a challenging place to visit and the wildlife is so beautiful. Your images are stunning.
15:45 ;) i was just about to say that ! Montreal here , thats what we have every year ! i can understand well when you said the front wind is terrible but really ok when on our back ! we walk often backward
Incredible experience, Thomas....thanks for sharing. I'd never heard of Pallas Cats before so learned something today! Quite horrific conditions...good on ya for surviving that....-30, ya, us Canadians start reaching for a jacket around there....lol!
Hi Thomas, thank's for sharing this adventure! I remember the first video I saw (it was 8 years ago, the one in the Lake District with the cloud inversion) and since then I started to follow your channel. Every time you were able to set higher and higher quality levels with your videos and with your content: now, with this journey in Mongolia you have achieved a new peak! Can't wait to see where your dream and your photography will lead you! Thank you 😃
Outstanding Thomas!!! This series in Mongolia is brilliant and real. The images you captured must be very, very very satisfying indeed. Thank you so much for taking us all with you!!
Just a great set of videos. The cold looked very cold but the images you got were simply amazing ! Love the one with your travelling companion fast asleep
A brilliant video of your adventures. Superb shots of the Pallas cats...I've really enjoyed watching your time in Mongolia...many thanks and best wishes.
this video was such class, that 'was rendered speechless, here. the fox. and of course the additional pallas cat images - very emotional. that brutal digging of snow!! extreme! loved the whole Mongolia video-adventure. your videos enrich my life. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
In case you dont make it to the end: there is a collection of images that didn't get filmed at 26:40 📷🎥
Wasn’t hard to see all of it. Well done Tom, beautiful images throughout.
I agree @@JohnPaul-ii
@thomas I'm interested in knowing how to contact Oggi. I live in ulaanbaatar and would like to see the cats

-30c no wonder the cats can look grumpy.
Beautiful images.

😂Cats and photographers.

I've been watching your videos for years, I can honestly say this was one of your best.

Thanks a lot. Yeah, Morten's trip looked incredible. It would be nice to get out there, but it's not easy or cheap to get there.
@@ThomasHeatonPhoto How much will such a trip cost 15 to 20,000 pound sterling or even more?
That first image of the fox was awesome.
Wildlife photographer of the year?? You should enter those Tom . Outstanding pictures and fantastic filming/editing. Top job
Love the way you caught its expression at 24:11, uh, I mean 23:50.
Those cats are absolutely adorable! The Mongolia trip has been an absolute treasure, with all its ups and downs. Amazing videos as always, Tom!
The images of the cat running towards you are stunning! What an experience the whole trip must have been.
Watching your video is as close as I will ever get to the wilds of Mongolia. Loved the cats.

The production skills here are incredible.

Cats...check! Snow....Check! Photography....Check! Gawd, what wasn't to absolutely love in this episode?! Loved it! Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it, but... No landscapes. The place was empty.

Wow the Pallas cat photo towards the end is awesome. Brilliant video, Thomas.
The fox looking back is gorgeous!
What an adventure! Great video and story as always.
Yeah, that one worked out well. Shame I didn't video the shoot.

You didn't put the latch on the outside of the door when you got out of the toilet, and I'm hoping the door didn't go flying around 😅
What an amazing adventure! Loved seeing a different side of your photography, and that the Z8 stood up to these conditions, just outstanding!
