Haha! I can't believe you used that clip at the end 😂 I'm delighted we made the last minute decision to venture out and film in such magical conditions! Great fun!!
I commented already that this had to be one of my all-time favorite videos from Thomas because of the fun, joy, and wonderful chemistry the two of you have. You should definitely plan on more collabs with him! (I also subscribe to your channel and enjoy your content as well, but this was a great example where 1+1=3.
Thomas, you and Simon work well together, please do this more often… Both of you captured some great shots. Appreciate you both sharing this adventure.
I was gone for 10 minutes laughing ! That’s sooooo true, that music, that walk ! Lots of love Tom and great to see Simon on the channel. That was a very good one !

Fantastic video. The fun and enjoyment you had really came through. Also loved the way you were discussing the different options. Very educational.
I haven't commented in a while but this was a fantastic video, fantastic photography with dreamy conditions and the banter with Simon was great! Hope you had a fantastic Christmas and I wish you the best of luck, health and success for 2024!
I love the throwback to the 90s with the VHS-esque filter! Even have the tracking effects going on... simply well done! Very nostalgic. Thomas - you are one of my favorite photographers thus far. I'm inspired by your approach to photographing landscapes. I'm planning on ordering your books soon. Thank you for being a breath of fresh air. The images you capture are fantastic reminders that our world is beautiful, despite being blasted with bonkers on the daily.
6:00 for all it's worth I think even with the trail it looks beautiful! a little bit of imperfection, a hint that someone walked through there, I think it adds an element of storytelling to the photo, as compared to an untouched landscape
1/40th a second, hand held! but, I wish I had friends like yours. Walkin around with your pal - doing merch talk and such.....What a dream - Such a bit of fun that is unique but also sometime to dream after.
I actually like the image from the viewfinder before you cloned out the path haha looks like a bit of a leading line towards the second subject. Maybe a bit more chaotic than what you where going for but i think it could work. you ended up with a great image anyways! Really enjoying all the content!
You and Simon should have a channel together. You have good chemistry together. I watched his video too and you both created exceptional images. Love them all!
Someone’s in a chirpy mood! Good to see you enjoying the day out - I’m guessing regardless of how good the conditions may or may not have been. Keep smiling!
I love how both of you messed up the foreground snow. I'm glad you decided to clone out your steps and keep that shot. Sometimes, I see you pass up a shot because of some distraction and I yell at my TV just take the shot and see if it's worth fixing!!!
I came here because you mentioned this video on your video with your favorite images of 2023. This video was so much fun to watch and somehow it really inspired me to go out again and shoot some trees. Thank you for that 😊
Once upon a time there were 'two tree huggers'..... Lol. Seriously: i think there are some great calendar worthy photo's, specially the one with the footprints!!! I liked the humor in the vlog vm.
I remember watching Simon before I started watching your videos. Totally love the relationship and atmosphere you two have and create. Totally enjoyed the video.
I loved all the photos in this video. Getting rid of your tracks is ok because you were honest about it and you’re creating art which we all enjoy to see.
I've watched your channel for a few months now and I enjoy every video that you make. It's a joy to watch. Thank you for your hard work and inspiration when it comes to photography.
Just went to check when was your first video, November 2014. Almost 10 years that I've been following you and still looking forward to every new video! Hopefully we can expect something epic for your 10 year anniversary!
Kind of like a Fototripper and Grumpton video with more class and less bathroom humor.😃 Don't get me wrong Gavin. Love you too, (mostly Amanda) but this is more to my taste. Well done guys.
This is probably my favorite video of yours for 2023, Tom. It was fun (I actually laughed out loud), I like the interaction with Simon, and how you did the sponsors. Doesn't hurt that it resulted in some great photos.
a nice after Christmas tonic with some beautiful images as well. The friendship between you both really shone through this one Thomas and hopefully see you both out together again in the not too distant future
It’s ok Thomas. I did it for you! Struck you off that is! I’m waiting for your book to arrive. I’ll let you know what I think! Should be here today I think😁
Thomas, this was really an entertaining and educational video. I love the scene around 14:00 where the two of you were feigning going back and forth about where to focus and the thinking behind your choices. Thank-you for that piece. As a teacher, I appreciate how you put that together in a way that was fun to digest. Have a great week!!
Tom, I have to say that your trail in the snow actually adds to the image - it tells a story, adds intrigue, and actually balances the composition (it is a bit left heavy without it).
Totally agree with this! I loved the brown color that came from the ice dissappearing from the path. It gave it this interesting story/message and makes you wonder who walked there. Please keep it! ❤
A lot more relaxed video after the somewhat frantic daily blog series. Beautiful atmospheric images and I particularly enjoyed the conversation with Simon discussing focus on the last image. Best wishes for 2024.
Simon you have re-awakened my interest in photography. My health has not been good for awhile (I had a day procedure on Friday to replace the battery in my pacemaker}. My oldest daughter baby sat me yesterday afternoon and introduced me to your videos. As a geordie at heart even though we have lived in Canada since 1965 I got your accent in on episode and that tweaked my interest in your work. Having now seen quite a few you have given me a new lease on life and a new way of looking at landscape photography. Thank you so much.
LOL Loved this video, can wait to see Simons take on this location as well, i did wonder if he had upgraded his gear since he sent back the sony iv . Thanks TH for a great year in photography, always love watching your adventures . Can't wait to see what you get up to next year. have a good new years!
I enjoyed that. Just something about a couple photographers out having fun, good natured teasing of each other and enjoying being out. I have said to friends many times it's not always about the quality of the image, it is the quality of the memory. Your images were terrific but I would say the memory was equally good.
You two need to do more together, it´s hilarious to watch! Also, what a freaking great combination of perfect weather, light snow, awesome trees and enough time to play around.
omg - sooooo funny, so enjoyable. just watched on tv screen. your funny expressions, comments, lead into the mpb plug, no signal etc etc ..all perfect comedy gold. and the tongue!! 😂😂 thank you. great episode. great photography and company too.
I was just thinking you hadn't done anything with Simon in ages and here you go. Great to see you two out together again, and the dog of course! As for the cloning, I'd definitely say it's fine, after all, you are simply undoing the "damage" you caused, it was really like that when you arrived...
The only promo that was missing was a copy of chasing Awe by Simon Hardcastle! Loved the video and shots and enjoying a day out with cameras and two of my fave storytellers and photographers but there was a lot of product ad breaks which were a distraction… and im u tube premium 😂🤣😂🤣…
Fantastic piece. Ive watched both Simon's and Tom's video. So interesting to watch the different styles and approaches. Great stuff fellas. Would enjoy more of these collaborations.

Leave in the trail-I like the balance and it draws me in.
Composition discussion was great, very interesting
Was good to see you having fun
Beautiful day! I have a similar one in the can but unedited yet. Good project for this evening.
I like the trail...it tells the story of the photographer's journey.
More Simon please
These aren't nests in the birch, they're called witch's brooms. Its a parasite-induced growth. Great images!
Ah yes, Simon mentioned this to me after filming. Thanks for the info.
I knew they aren't nests but I didn't realise they were parasites! Thanks
They’re fungi!
nests for parasites?
Fascinating! I'm delighted to learn this, and the term, "Witch's Brooms" to boot. Thanks fo that.
I haven't commented in a while but this was a fantastic video, fantastic photography with dreamy conditions and the banter with Simon was great! Hope you had a fantastic Christmas and I wish you the best of luck, health and success for 2024!
Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed it.

Thomas giving off Golden Retriever Energy in this video.
It’s like you’re walking through an infra-red world. Beautiful!
The energy in this vid was awesome Thomas haha great video.

I was about to give this video a second like to bad you can’t. This video was fun relaxing and it had amazing photos.
excellent video lads! particularly liked your discussion over the focus point of the tree. more of that please :)
Great video guys, the comedy as well. Beautiful shots great conditions. Thanks for sharing.
Great video, and fair play for taking the time to hunt for the footage from 5 years ago!
I need a snow storm in the North East US strong enough to cancel work...and so I can go out in conditions like this! I love all of these.
love photographing in the fog

Merry Christmas 🎉 and Happy New Year 2024 from The Rock of Gibraltar 🇬🇮
I wont lie, but I miss that melancholy music. I loved it. Anyhoo, terrific video! Great final image. Happy New Year.
Beautiful beautiful photos. I especially love the two last ones of the lone trees.
Awesome fun with 2 pros! Thanks for taking me along!
You and Simon should have a channel together. You have good chemistry together. I watched his video too and you both created exceptional images. Love them all!
Fabulous way to end and start the year! Thanks for sharing! Best to you and yours.

Shades of Gavin Hardcastle.😱 Carry on. 👍🥂
I wish I had a friend with the same connection as you all have! (plus the bonus Meg)... I agree with Simon, fantastic composition and perfect focus
Great video! I enjoy the honesty of your videos.
Stunning story and images. I’m new to wildlife photography and enjoy browsing your images for inspiration
Brilliant Thomas.
Enjoyed every minute of it.
Great image's.
Great video, loved the humor, and scenery.
I came here because you mentioned this video on your video with your favorite images of 2023.

Brilliant video. So funny. 😆 love the MPB plug.. 👍🏻

Fun to watch! Spectacular images. The tree with the nests, excellent! No worries about the tracks in the snow. Like you said, you put them there!
I remember watching Simon before I started watching your videos. Totally love the relationship and atmosphere you two have and create. Totally enjoyed the video.

Thank you. That was very nice.
Great to see you having fun on a shoot with a friend. Love your work and wish you all the best in the new year...keep em' coming.
When you were going round the tree and left a path by it in the snow at about 5 minutes in the video. I like it with the path.
Great post! Love you talking to Simon about composition and what might work best.
That trail in the snow tells a story. Leave it.
I've watched your channel for a few months now and I enjoy every video that you make. It's a joy to watch. Thank you for your hard work and inspiration when it comes to photography.
New Image Name Unlocked: "No Defeatin' Heaton" Love your formatting and grateful for your inspiration. Thanks for doing what you do dude.
Great video, lovely pictures
I wasn't there and still had a lot of fun! Love the light hearted video and the great photographs.
This may be my favorite Thomas Heaton video. You can just feel how much fun you are having.
The music at the end brought back a lot of memories, felt a bit nostalgic!
Just went to check when was your first video, November 2014. Almost 10 years that I've been following you and still looking forward to every new video!

I can feel the fun and enjoyment if each other’s company. Maybe the scenery has also helped a little? Good video I quite enjoyed it. Thanks guys.
As it happens, I think the track you made helps with the composition.
Hilariously entertaining! Loved the way you edited the video as well. Good on ye, Thomas.

yep it tells a story alright lol that a photographer forgot about the golden rule of not making tracks/footprints in a scene.
@@duncansteward4331 to each their own 🙄
Lovely! Fun! Entertaining! Informative! PS birds nests or mistletoe?
Fantastic video really enjoyed that a lot. Great images and great humour bouncing between you both 😂📷🙏
Beautiful photos and very entertaining!
CLONE CLONE and CLONE ----- you are the artist, nature is the palette
A lot more relaxed video after the somewhat frantic daily blog series. Beautiful atmospheric images and I particularly enjoyed the conversation with Simon discussing focus on the last image. Best wishes for 2024.
Amazing conditions. Love the images!
I quite liked the interaction between you and Simon.
That last tree is one of the nicest images you've shown for a good while.
That last image was spectacular. I can see why it’s in your top 10.
Great video!
Simon you have re-awakened my interest in photography. My health has not been good for awhile (I had a day procedure on Friday to replace the battery in my pacemaker}. That was amazing banter. What a location, superb images!
It's nice and funny to have you along on your photography trip. The photos are so beautiful.
Man, that 90 seconds at the end where it's mainly just technical talk between two pros about a single photo? Love it.
That bit of process or even just the showcase of shooting the same subjects different ways is good insight.
Ahhh very funny and a good laugh. Oh and a BEAUTIFUL photo also.
Well done! An absolute joy to watch, learn, and laugh!
Great video and filling in the path you made was fine.
LOL Loved this video, can wait to see Simons take on this location as well, i did wonder if he had upgraded his gear since he sent back the sony iv . Thanks TH for a great year in photography, always love watching your adventures . Can't wait to see what you get up to next year. have a good new years!

Great images at a brilliant location...glad you pair didn't come to blows as happened with Gavin...very best wishes for 2024.
Always like these two photographers together..focused on the scene and their final products. PLease do some more videos together!
Love watching you both having fun! Great images! Happy New Year!
Simon nailed the ending… 😅great job..teamwork! What bout focus stacking…
Wonderful conditions and personally I have no problem with the generative fill over the track you made in the snow
Great video with the two of you. And incredible conditions. Stunning.
You two need to do more together, it´s hilarious to watch! Also, what a freaking great combination of perfect weather, light snow, awesome trees and enough time to play around.

As a macro photographer, I'm focusing near, far and in the middle. Then stacking the images. Seems like it would work well for tree-scapes
Really like the dynamic between you two! Made it very interesting and great way to learn from each other.
Beautiful video, beautiful conditions, beautiful seeing two friends out having an absolutely beautiful day. The best to you both in 2024!
Once you see that track in the snow... you can't un-see it! LOL :) Happy new Year from Australia.
I was just thinking you hadn't done anything with Simon in ages and here you go. Great to see you two out together again, and the dog of course! As for the cloning, I'd definitely say it's fine, after all, you are simply undoing the "damage" you caused, it was really like that when you arrived...
So much fun to see you having such a good time - you and Simon make companions.
