I doubt that Broe sent all the funds raised to Ukraine. He probably pocketed at least $150,000 for his own selfish ambitions.
@@wapiti3750 you obviously did not contribute otherwise you would have seen how the funds were collected - via a third party online system. You are either a Russian troll or a ruskie sympathiser!
Many years ago, I heard a story similar to one in this video from a Hungarian woman who had been a young teenager in Budapest during WWII. She said that her city had been occupied three different times during the war, and that of all the occupiers, the Russians were the worst. I was astonished, and I asked, "Worse than the Nazis?" And she answered, "Much worse than the Nazis. The Russians were barbarians. My sisters and I had to stay hidden in our house to keep from being raped. When we were occupied by the Germans everything was peaceful and orderly. I know the Nazis did terrible things to the Jews, but in regard to everything that I experienced there was normal law and order under German occupation."
The quotation I just gave is actually a paraphrase, because this conversation was held many years ago, and obviously I can't remember her exact words. Nevertheless, this was the gist of what she said, and she was very emphatic about it. After the war, during the late 40s and the 50s, she had lived under communist rule in Hungary and was in Budapest when the Russians came back to suppress the Hungarian revolt. After that, she escaped Hungary and came to the United States. She deeply despised the Russian people as a consequence of her experiences.
I heard a woman that lived somewhere occupied by Germans. They needed food, went to a farm where she lived, paid for it and were generally well behaved.
It was the American led allies that at the end of WW2 agreed Russia should be the „liberators“ of Berlin considering of the many thousands of Soviet deaths suffered. The responsibility of the surrender process in germany was divided up between the Soviets, the French, British and Americans.
Germans that experienced that time told me that they were scared stiff of it being the Russians. The stories of their brutality, rapes, pillaging etc had been told ahead of them.
My dad rolled through Germany in the spring of 1945 with the Third Armored Division, and when German townsfolk saw the U.S. tank columns, they ran from their houses cheering. They were all quite vocal that they were terrified of Russian troops. Now, make no mistake, there were atrocities even from American GIs, but the difference was that if the GI was caught, they would be court martialed and imprisoned whereas the Russians considered rape and pillaging part of their compensation.
My father was in the Italian campaign, starting at Taranto in the south, and working their way north. By the end of the war, they had crossed the border into Austria. What the British troops found was that the Russians had already passed through. Everything had been stolen, even the knobs on the doors. And every woman and girl in the country had been raped. This was a revenge thing for the Russians - you humiliate the defeated enemy by humiliating his women. It's a nasty nasty attitude. The British troops, by contrast, behaved themselves - as the Ukrainians are in Kursk right now.
I’m very much surprised that the Hungarian people voted back in the pro Russia side in power.
I was a young girl in Europe when Russian tanks were rolling down the streets of Budapest .
I haven’t forgotten, and I asked myself how could they.
Having russia as a neighbour there’s never been any misunderstanding or illusion with what the power base is all about. Thanks for having Jake on again, his balanced and consistent delivery is crucial. Greetings from Estonia 🇪🇪 Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦

Jake is absolutely right, Russian values are completely different: they share the values of the Mongolian Hordes, they have no respect for life including their own. Some westerners fail to comprehend this: ethnic Russians look like Europeans but they don't behave like them.

Zbigniew Brezezinski (1928 - 2017) served as a counselor to President Lyndon B. Johnson from 1966 to 1968 and was President Jimmy Carter's National Security Advisor from 1977 to 1981. As a scholar, Brzezinski belonged to the "realist" school of international relations. The following quote from Zbigniew Brezezinski in 2014 explains the Russia invasion of Ukraine. "It cannot be stressed enough that without Ukraine, Russia ceases to be an empire, but with Ukraine suborned and then subordinated, Russia automatically becomes an empire."
Is America not an empire. Which countries don't kneel to our central banks?

The Golden Horde occupied what we call Russia for about 250-300 years (~1240 to ~1500 AD). Their rule was essentially, do things our way or die. Moskov was an obscure village, founded in 1147 on a river which may or may not have been settled by Vikings in their longships.
Moskov enthusiastically adopted the Horde's edict - indeed, what choice did they have? As a reward, the Horde gave Moskov dominion over near-by settlements. But more than that, Moskov adopted the Horde's way of doing things. So began the Russian nation. And to this day, Russians have preserved the Golden Horde's way of doing things. Lest you be confused, that village, Moskov, is known in the English speaking world as Moscow.

No very gracious really. It is true that the Soviets rolled into Berlin in American trucks but it is also true that they drove British and Canadian tanks , 5.5 thousand of them, and flew Hurricane fighters. Much of the array of raw material also required for victory came from the unique expanse of the British empire. In short hundreds of countries assisted.

Remember that Ukraine is like the UK, with a climate less extreme than their neighbours and good soil for agriculture, mineral wealth like Coal and Iron Ore, Salt mines, oil and gas, a large coastline (including Crimea), with good ports. and a large population density of poets and musicians, great engineers and innovators, used to fighting off foreign invaders, and not easily oppressed. That Zelenskiy can be compared to Churchill is no mistake.
Remember that in the UK, Scotland and (for instance) England are two different peoples. Similar to the West Ukrainians and the Donbass Ukrainians. Crimea is even a completely different story. Portraying them as one great nation is distorting the historic truth.
And by the way, Churchill was a leader, Zelensky is a beggar, there is no comparison.
@@dirkhouben9960 And yet the Crimean Tartars voted to be a part of Ukraine, ; as did the people of Kherson, and the Donbas when not occupied by torturers and killers (the Russian army, in case you are confused) A nation is made up of many tribes, many origins,, we apparently mostly originated in Africa. Fact- Ukraine a sovereign nation did not ask to be invaded., and its cities of the "rescued by the Russians" by being bombed to oblivion .Fotunately the English feel no compunction to bomb Glasgow or torture the residents of Aberdeen at the moment, and the Scots aren't sending missiles to London. Cant help thinking your parallels go off at a bit of a tangent. Zelensky is a genuine hero. Britain relied heavily on America during WW2, as did the Soviets Its the Russians who are now the barbarians at the gate...............
@@stevebeer3324 No, the Ukrainian people did not ask to be invaded, the US took care of that, with the help of its eternal poodle, the UK.. Please make a distinction between the UA government (Your hero Zelensky), the UA people of West UA and the people of East UA and things will appear more clearly. If you wish not to do so, fine, live in your supremacist dream world that Russians are barbarians and the US is the saviour of our planet....get real man.
I spent October 2023 in Ukraine. I had a regular taxi driver in Kyiv. He said to me: "Where are all these Nazis? Have you seen any Nazis?" Pause. "Are you a Nazi?" He and many Ukrainians I spoke to are mystified about Putin's motive/s. Several said, when I asked what they would do if all outside aid stopped, "We'll keep fighting. We have been fighting off russia for nearly ten years. This is our land."
Putin needed an excuse to invade Ukraine, and what better way than invent a Nazi invasion in Ukraine, since the Russians are still living in the 1940's. None of the invaders have seen any Nazis, no Nazi camps, no trains, no complaints from the Jewish population or their Jewish relatives around the world. But the empty-headed population can't use critical thinking.
Russian narratives about "Nazis" and NATO expansion are just futile attempts to justify a war of conquest. The thing is there are many in the West who have fallen for these narratives as certain channels and individuals spread false information on purpose. This is most prevalent in the US, where a bunch of right wing channels and "conservatives" are repeating these talking points without any evidence.
And now they have more chance because they have people in many countries willing to fund them, regardless of the cowardly politicians. That's a better position than 10 years ago.
This Nazi 🐎💩 by Pooty is just an excuse. His own Wagner Group is named after Hitlers favorite composer. One of Wagners founders, Dimitri Utkin was an admirer of the Third Reich and named this paramilitary group accordingly. Many people don't seem to know that. When Pooty downed Prigozins plane, he finally killed a Nazi because Utkin was also on board.

I think it is historically correct to call russians Moscovites, and Ukraine should claim its historic name Rus. Ukraine-Rus. You are right Jake, this war is not about the territory. Russia already stole Ukrainian historic name, tried to change history, take Ukrainian identity, erase Ukrainian culture and language, created this myth about "one people", final attempt is to get rid of the true heir.

@@user-mz3in7vo5bRusky Mir has borders. It ends where it receives a worthy response in its snout.
While it’s true, I doubt the name is associated with anything good anymore. It’s been stained with shame. The doctor who treated the assassin of Abraham Lincoln, was named Mudd. When we hold someone in contempt and no longer wish to associate with him/her, their ‘name is Mudd’. In the future, perhaps our descendants will refer to society’s rejects by another, (more recent) infamous name. Time will tell.

Thanks Jonathan for having Jake on your podcast. He is one of the most logical and honest persons in commenting on the war.
Half a million men are either dead or severely disabled in Russia. Add in the forces still on the battlefield and it's a big demographic problem for the Russians. They don't have enough equipment that's home built, their manpower is needed at home to just keep the economy ticking over.
Ukraine is short of workers too, but they haven't had anywhere near the same KIA, disabled numbers.
It's long past time the "Western Countries" get the supplies to Ukraine.
No, the western countries are really sacrificing generations of ukranians just to keep the arms industry making big profits. And Ukraine is in a much worse situation than when, influenced by Boris Johnson, backtracked on signing a peace agreement in 2022.
That is very true. But the important question is. Can Ukraine keep up with Russia? We don't know exactly how many people Ukraine lost. And if Ukraine is losing men and equipment it costs them a lot more than it does Russia.
Russia is not in a "good" position right now. But they are still doing better than Ukraine.
Don’t forget the hundreds of thousands that fled the country to avoid conscription.

Russia was founded on the ruins of the Golden Horde, the princes of Moscow were the tax collectors of the Mongols and it's the main reason for the rise of Moskovia in the 1500's.
Mongols weren't the first. There were Huns, Avars, Khazars, Bulgars, Kipchaks etc. All of similar to Mongol cultures and masters of those lands. And as for the legacy, it is also the Rus legacy. You remember the Rus, right? Murderous bandits, slavers, mercenaries from the North?
Nope. Jake is not correct. One should leave history to academic historians, not to amateurs like Putin or some youtubers.
Thank You Jake & Jonathan @Silicon Curtain JF, can you get Governor Walz on The Curtain? Lots of votes here in the pro-Ukraine community!!!!
Great conversation. Thank you.
Thanks Jake and Jonathan - you are the lights in the dark. From a big fan in Denmark.
Always make time for a jake video!
Same for me.
Born and raised in Lviv to US born father. The history of WW2 is very comlicated. As a kid I use to be fascinated by stories from Ukrainian X Partisans who fought both Natiz and Soviets simultaneously
Thank you, Jonathan, for another interesting conversation with Jake. Thank you, Jake and all who contributed to the second epic campaign with NAFO 69th Sniffing Brigade. For all who have missed it, there are active fundraisers on their website who need our support. Thanks for contributing, for example, to the brave Azov defenders.
🇺🇦 Перемоги та миру всім українцям! 🇺🇦
Jake - always there for us and above all for Ukraine 🙌🏽😊
Wonderful episode. Since independence Ukraine has tried to reclaim its true history, fighting against a tidal wave of russian intervention. So glad to see you two thought leaders striving to set the historical record straight.
At the risk of sounding redundant, Jake is awesome. One of the best, if not the best. A hero to many.
Jake's channel just hit 500K subs!!!
Rumour has it even Putin is subbed! 😁
excellent! was hanging on 499k all week lol
Been watching the numbers. It was bound to hit this week! Congratulations, Jake. Muchly deserved! ❤ 😊

Great to hear two adults, two of the most highly informed commentators, talking about the future that must come out of this war. "14 countries the size of Belarus" - after bankruptcy and internal collapse Russia must be subdivided to stop their eternal feral cycles of depredation against neighbours. We hope that responsible forward-looking Western policy makers are quietly beginning to discuss the shape and details of this outcome. As democracies these new countries could join NATO (and the EU) and so are safe if some slip back into autocracy and start to attack their neighbours. Etc.
I'm from the UK and although are country got straight in to help Ukraine 🇺🇦 I am shocked by the lack of conversation by my fellow man about what Russia is doing to Ukraine.people need to get a grip then get their bloody hands in pockets and donate whatever they can .
Because UK citizens are on their backs because of onslaughts from ridiculous politicos who have enabled the illegal immigrant tidal waves across the nation.
From Canada:
100% in agreement
Well if you are from Ukraine, can you explain to me , why you guys are worshipping Bandera still today?? Don't tell me that the guy was fighting for freedom, killing for nazi Germany 😂
Same here from Germany!
JAAAAKE, heck yeah, he's such a genuinely good dude!! His heart is always in the right place where Ukraine & Ruzzia's war of aggression against the country & its peoples is concerned. He's 100% on the right side of history regarding the Ukraine-Ruzzia war.

Jake Broe is a gentleman, who knows what's going on and I agree with what he says about what the future of Russia should be. I've been following Jake for 2 years now. Love the guy. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦
Love Jakes moral compass.
Excellent interview with Jake Broe, he's so knowledgeable and insightful and is achieving great things for Ukraine with his fundraisers! Thank you!👏🏻👍🏻💪🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇬🇧
Great guest today Jonathan!
I appreciate your bringing up the history of the Mongol occupation of the region of Moscow and contemporary Russia. Extreme, ruthless cruelty.
It's always great to see Jake on with you Jonathan. Thankyou both for all you do for Ukraine. Sending love from Australia

Even during the USSR, Ukraine was considered the brains while Russia was considered the brawn.
Seems like Ukraine is not the same anymore, they elected ex-comedian for president...

Great combo; Broe and Silicon.
I like how consistently Jake takes up and plays out possible plans and trains of thought of the enemy, but also of his own government, both the obvious ones and those behind the curtain. Hardly anyone else dares to do that.
Thank you both for this conversation.
When we arrived in Canada from the UK we settled in Alberta in the west . It was not long before we found that a large number of the people there were from the Ukraine . Two landlords and a young guy we befriended filled us in on the various migration of Ukrainians due to the common purges by Russia . A very productive group in that part of the Canadian west .
Jake´s the MAN!
This is bound to be a great interview!

Need to add that suffering in the 2nd WW was heaviest by the Poles (whom the Soviets also invaded), Belarusians & Ukrainians. This is not to belittle ethnic Russian losses but to correct possible misunderstandings. from 🇨🇦

The Ukraine may make it's own missiles with a range that would include Moscow and Saint Petersburg, and not need permission to use them.
I sure hope that is true
This needs to be said; all Jake says, and more, needs to be said!
everyone should be required to watch this vid. thanks jon and jake :)
One other fact that Russia/Putin keeps silent about is the Ribbentrop - Molotov pact, in which the Soviets agreed with the Nazis to attack Poland; first Nazi-Deutschland from the west and then the Soviet Union two weeks later from the east. So, the Soviet Union had an active/attacking role in starting WW II.
Without the USSR guarding Germany's back, the nazis wouldn't have been able to steamroll over the Wedt so fast. Stalin sent his congratulations when Hitler took Paris
True. russian propaganda claims WWII started in 1941??? when they switched sides and try to blame nazi's alone on starting war.
They also agreed that the Baltics and Finland (which actually also used to be called Baltic in the past) would belong to russia.
Not silent, he blamed Poland for provoking Germany by not handing over its territory to Hitler in the Carlson interview.
“Moral Clarity” covering Russia’s war on Ukraine and its people is the very definition of Jake Bro. He is reliable and not immune to this reporting as he does show emotion which makes him a fighter for Ukraine. I love Jake’s synopsis here on Russia as I studied WW2 myself and my father was deployed overseas in the Pacific. He is right on regarding the Monguls. Their moral claim was that we will keep our word and they did regardless of the ethical issues. Though a different front, my father did say that many in the army wanted to continue to Russia because of their flipping loyalties from Axis to Allie’s. Jake relays a consistent message. “The Russians are the worse” as relayed from someone experiencing many aggressions during her long life.
Jake and Jonathan - you are amazing! An excellent conversation! Thank you!
During World War II, the United States provided significant aid to the Soviet Union through the Lend-Lease program. This program, initiated in March 1941, allowed the U.S. to supply its allies with essential war materials. The aid to the Soviet Union included:
400,000 jeeps and trucks
14,000 airplanes
8,000 tractors
13,000 tanks
1.5 million blankets
15 million pairs of army boots
107,000 tons of cotton
2.7 million tons of petroleum products
4.5 million tons of food
The total value of the aid was approximately $11.3 billion at the time, which is equivalent to about $180 billion today123. This support was crucial for the Soviet Union’s war effort against Nazi Germany.
During WW2 the UK and its commonwealth provided significant aid to the USSR before the USA joined the war. Which only happened when Hitler declared war on the USA.
The UK and its commonwealth provided significant aid through arctic convoys before the USA joined the war. And the USA only joined when Germany declared war.
@@morstyrannis1951the kick in the teeth for America to join the war was when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor
