Speaking as a person from the West -- We *need* to listen to Ukrainians & others who were previously in the Soviet Union when they tell us the reality of ruzzia & putin & the ruzzian mindset. We do not understand it in the West . We don't know. We need to listen to our eastern brothers and sisters. They know what they're talking about.

It´s snowing in Germany , I think about the people in Ucraine in their unheated homes and can´t help crying. You are such an inspiration to the rest of Europe. Right now we seem unable to see this. The salient point ,I thought was that as soon as France and Britain allowed the Storm Shadow usage, beyond the pre 2014 Russian borders involved in the bombing of Ukraine. They clearly demonstrated the NATO alliance working together. The movement of supplies, Russians to the rear by 200 miles will be a new phase in the war and borders.

I’m normally very positive about Ukraine receiving an upgrade in weaponry, but the last few days have been a side-show. We have seen the US military test an ATACMS at a high value target within full Russian air defence and Russia live fire a multiple re-entry vehicle ICBM system at a city they are pretty sure doesn’t have a US THAAD system in place (a disaster for Dnipro). I’d be happier if Ukraine was supplied effective battlefield weapons and allowed to target them (within a simpler, flexible ROE) as they need to. But it’s been this way since the second-half of 2022, where the US & Germany (who can potentially do most) dragging their feet or piling up the conditions & waiting for a unicorn to stab Putin in the heart.

This is going to be fun seeing this bridge become structurally unstable. As an engineer there's needs to be very careful consideration on EXACTLY where to land the charges..if not it will be complete waste of time..
The best solution is if Ukraine has a couple of old ICBM that would be impossible to intercept and send a similar message to Putin not to send such missiles into Ukrainian territory again..but he will cos he has no alternative..

Thank you so much Jonathan and Starsky. This was a really interesting conversation to listen to, very thought provoking and a good variety of topics covered. All good!
I like the way Starsky is being realistic, within his remit of course. Obviously there are good reasons to not be to optimistic in any war, but I really must say that the AFU has coped remarkably well considering that serious lack of promised support, only 10% and still undefeated says a heck of a lot about just how good the AFU is for our world. That deserves reward, considering Ukraine is in reality defending our civilsed world. I've said it before, if russia finds its patterns of stealing land work for it (and they really don't care how long that takes timewise), then it will simply apply that pattern across vast swathes of whatever land it sets its sights on in the future. I do so wish people would understand this!
If russia's threats cause the civilised world to hesitate, that *really* is not good for any of our nations. Just look at what hesitation has done (achieved) already for russia... it's prolonged this war by far. Ukraine knows this and feels it the harshest way imaginable. And Ukraine is the one nation that has held russia back in manpower alone. No NATO troops in Ukraine.Yet since 2014, *a decade,* Ukraine has kept the wolf from our doors, so to speak! If trump doesn't see an incredibly strong military force (AFU) that will be a huge asset to our combined defence network, when he takes office, he'd be a fool, IMO.
I think he'd like to be seen as smarter than that...
    Time will tell.
I like what Starsky was saying about terrorist nation of russia. If anyone doubts it is, let's just say they ought to imagine what has happened in Ukraine, because of putin's blackmailing (nuclear) threats to us all, happening in their own country.
Did russia ever really figure out, that since WWII russia is lagging way behind on becoming a non-aggressive, non-warring nation? And *that* is why it will always struggle with being accepted in the world because it fails to go the distance for long enough to earn one iota of trust in it as a country. Germany figured that out in less time, 6 years, not a decade (longer if you look at how many countries russia has waged war on since the ussr fell apart.
I know they marked the 1000th day recently, but in less than 100 day's time, it will be 4000 days since russia first began to occupy Ukraine, and Ukraine will have prevailed almost twice the length of time of the entre duration of WWII.
That bridge is much talked about, so thanks Starsky for your chat about it. I guess if the landing point was defunct, repeatedly, no one could exit at the Ukrainian end, but I have no clue if that could be a thing))
Disclaimer: If none of the above sounds sensible, my excuse is I missed a night's kip (not specifically to watch this fabby vid, btw, but it was a good way to spend an hour+. Sofa catnaps today mefinx!!!

The highways should be stacked heading to Ukraine along with any railway and port. We need as the West to increase our deliveries. If these guys have problems with the munitions for the HIMARS systems, there's something terribly wrong with logistics planning. It's TOO LITTLE but NEVER TOO LATE!

I would love to see the Kerch bridge come down the day before Trump inauguration.

Very interesting insights from Operator Starsky. Most of us in the West had barely any knowledge of Zelensky prior to the invasion.

I miss Starsky sarcastic videos showing Russian historical socioeconomic nonsense. I find them educative and highly entertaining. The Russian truck bucket was one of my favorite. When Starsky puts on the voice, I turn into a 5yo watching my morning cartoons with a bowl of unreasonably sugared cereals!

The Kerch bridge isn't, it is a fishing pier. It is the Kerch Fishing Pier.
