Henry Cavil As Ciaphas Cain, He'll never die, he's basicaly the only 40k charecter that is relatable to a modern human, and the tone is going to be more forgiving as far as getting orks on screen.
To Peachy's point about Wheel of Time and Rings of Power, I'd level Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings and Dredd. Both adaptations weren't perfect 1 to 1s of the source material, but they captured the core of their stories and were served well by their writers and directors. LOTR is a classic trilogy and Dredd is widely regarded as a great film as well.
Does anyone remember Space: Above and Beyond? It was a fantastic series about a group of soldiers in the future. I'd love a similar series but 40k based. Or Gaunts Ghosts. Or anything.... I want it now! 😂
That chunk of sabbat martyr peachy talks about is the most cinematic 40K writing ever. It should be used as the primer for all the shows they make. Run the traditional there is only war blurb, then follow Dalin Through the battle as a one take shot. That would get everyone’s attention
Having something to do with the Rogue Traders might be interesting for an Amazon series, showing the different races that the Imperium encountered and the arduous task dealing with the administratum and the horrors of the warp, set up like a mockumentary of life in the Outer Rim. Something like The Orville series.
Looking very forward to seeing the Necromunda content. We just finished up our first campaign last month. As for Peachy's gang. My suggestion is to do a corrupted Escher gang - either Chaos or Genestealer. This way he can try something different, but still stay with something familiar and loved.
TBH I think the Bequin series could have worked really well as an adaptation to TV. Would have put Cavill in one of the roles that the community seem to imagine him in. Eisenhorn. and on top of that its a good story, from a human perspective in the 40k universe that cements things like Astartes and Xenos as extremely rare and extremely dangerous.
I'm with you on WH40K show/movie. Start small, grow slowly. As much as players like Space Marines, starting with regular human perspective is smarter choice. If DCEU teaches us something is that jumping the shark is not the best idea. Develop your universe for average watcher, then you an expand and introduce more abstract ideas. Tanith story as a TV show, that ends season with scene described by Peachy would be a perfect fit. Finish with a bang, leave viewers hanging and wanting more! Space Marines should be treated as 'monsters' in 40k show. They could be more humanized in 30k storyline, but still more 'grandiose' than regular human. Not mentioning Primarchs. I hope they don't mess it up and not make it bland.
Dan abbnet is the master of the "regular" human pov in the 40k narrative he needs to be as involved as possible in the writing or at least the story outlines as possible. in my humble opinion that is
My goodness, sorry about the hacking! I really enjoyed the Amazon discussion; I’m very excited to see what they can do with 40k. As for Peachy’s gang, I say go Van Saar!
I always had the idea of a show opening with world war 2 era troops shooting at an unknown enemy, the chaos of treach warfare, people dropping without being focused on them, following a trooper run through the whole mess, but them get jumped by a Tyranid, killed, title screen
Very much looking forward to regular-ish Necromunda gaming stuff from you guys! 'Munda currently is my favourite GeeDubbs game, and we've recently started off a campaign, too. Incredibly excited for what you're up to!
Awesome, thank you! And yeah we’re very eager to get stuck in, be a week or two before we film, but that’ll give Geoff and Pat time to paint up their gangs
I think the best thing to do would be to not adapt a story and instead carve out your own just for the series. That would give you more freedom to explore and have things progress. It would also make sense to have the main character be an Inquisitor or even a Rogue Trader because they are uniquely powerful enough to be able to freely go about the universe while still being human. With a Rogue Trader, you could even have an Eldar or Kroot be part of the retinue and slowly explain what those are. It also wouldn't be unusual for either position to later run into a Space Marine or some Sisters of Battle. Have the opening shot be the protagonist walking down a corridor establishing the gothic aesthetic. Have them walk past a servitor or have a servo-skull fly by. Set up from the get-go that things aren't great in this universe.
Honestly i would of loved to join the patreon, but money is tight right now, with being unemployed and being on benefits. i still wish you guys all the best and i love every damn video you guys put out. :)
I have to put my vote in for Van Saars! I love the messed up archeotech. I've not seen much of Necromunda, so I'm eager to watch your series! Not that I need to get into another game...
Those turbo dork metallics are killer. The standard coloured metallics are just as good as the 'color shift' variants. Great pigmentation and shine. Good choice.
If you're listened to, or read, the WH40K crime series, there are some really great stories and ideas there for TV series. Much smaller scale, very human oriented. Almost non-Imperium like Imperium. Some great stuff.
Something you said got me thinking. When you say "they need to humanize Space Marines" i am reminded of the awful Space Marine movie where they were all new Space Marines, but were acting like a bunch of 20yo army grunts. But they are not that. By the time they are space marines they have been fighting for years; so even the newest tactical marine is more a vet than any vet we have in RL. Though also like it was mentioned, space marines seen through human eyes is really where they stand out. Seeing how much better they are than regular people really adds to the awe... then add in the xenos scum that can easily defeat them and you get a great snapshot of this wonderful dark universe.
Great video again! Really enjoyed listening to it :) keep up the good work! 💪 As for Necromunda, Peachy you’ve got to do Van Saars for sure 💪 no doubt in my mind it’s those lovely guys!
Escher gang for me, I just love their models. I’ve been using house Delaque for my GSC for metamorphs and love those guys. If I was going to play necromunda think they’re the guys I’d go for too. The first warhammer games I really watched were necromunda so looking forward to seeing what you guys do. Hope everyone has a good christmas 😊
Peachy, bit of a tangent - there is an audiobook on audible called 'Aliens: Bug Hunt' that is a collection of short stories about Colonial Marines (Including those at Hadleys Hope) and their experiences with various types of 'bug', previous to their ultimate fate on LV426. Its an interesting listen. Good show guys!
The audiodrama River of Pain is also top notch for what happened on LV426 prior to the events of Aliens The bug hunt collection is good. Some (1 or 2) stories are a bit naff, but the stories focusing on the marines from Aliens are the better ones though!
Honestly I think the Warhammer Crime approach would be a good jumping off point for like a mini series, Varangantua is definitely grimdark but it's not insanely so that people who aren't familiar with the setting can't understand the premise. Plus the noir feeling would translate really well I believe. Then they can build off of that; maybe we get to follow hive conscripts who are shipped off to fight some rebellion, or we get to follow some gangers trying to scrape a living fighting other gangs and the corrupt system. I think a proper Warhammer "cinematic universe" for lack of a better word would have to take the approach Marvel has taken; start out with the fluffy but relatable stuff that fits both fans and those who have more or less no experience with the setting and then ramp up to the more obscure and gritty stuff.
I agree that I would put money on an Eisenhorn (maybe earlier years) being the first 'dip' into the 40k Universe. Gaunt's Ghosts series would be brilliant.
your idea for cavill is on point and I give you who he will play. The antagonist. The King in yellow. Valdor. So he can play in this series and a lot more. Like marvel or star wars Valdor is a character that has the Option for 30k, own ideas, and 40k
To land the universe in my opinion 40k will need a prologue scene at the very beginning much like in the fellowship of the ring. Easily the best prologue in film history!! Just explains exactly everything, different cultures and races plus some well needed history
They could really do a tear jerker movie where you get the odd narration from an ogryn's inner voice as the movie goes along that includes said ogryn some of the time within the lattice of simpleness, complexity, clarity and cloudiness within a battle/war/expedition/crusade.
Great chat again guys, enjoying the content as always. Would love to see Henry Cavil take on the Age of Apostasy to start the entry into warhammer. Think that could be achieved to ease everyone in. Plus check out Pete the wargamer video on the void scions. They take pouches to a new uncontrollable level.
I would love Amazon to do the Heresy, but I think the easiest way to humanise it and give it that gateway feel to new folks would be the Remebrancers. The first book in the series generally has that feel to it as well, only the later books are just Astartes handbags at dawn. That way the marines are almost background noise. But the main reason why I think it'll be something like Eisenhorn is the cost factor. I mean how much money will it make to bring entire legions to life? Would it be practical suits, augmented cgi suits, fully cgi? And the cgi is the bit that worries me the most as that can be an immersion breaker when done poorly. What ever they hopefully do release I'll be giving it my full support, even if it didn't meet my expectations ... because that's the only way we'll see more. I hope many understand and realise that hashtagging not my warhammer would only seal the coffin on future projects.
I think Cavill will be a Custodes as they effectively are immortal. So he could be one of the originals Custodes from the Unification of Terra all the way to present day as an Eye of the Emperor if you didnt want the character tied to the throneworld
I don't think they'll start with Eisenhorn... Just think about how expensive it would be to produce?? All the different locations, costumes, sets and additional cast and literally thousands of extras ... I think it'll be something much more manageable, in terms of time also. I think Blackstone Fortress could be a good shout. The setting is low lit so they can fudge a lot of the finer details and there must be hundreds of already existing generic sci fi sound stages and sets that Amazon has access to making it cheaper and faster to produce.
I think you're right that Eisenhorn is a great place to start with a 40k cinematic/television universe, with one small problem: it has basically nothing to do with the tabletop (there's the occasional space marine and chaos space marine, and some guardsmen, but there aren't any huge battles and most of the xenos and chaos threats are absent). I think they should start with Eisenhorn, but my worry is that they'll try to go for something more linked to the tabletop (much like the stuff on Warhammer+). It's definitely the most approachable Black Library series, imo. 40k has a bit of a problem (I guess) that there's no central narrative that everything wraps around, except maybe the Heresy. Star Wars has the original trilogy to revolve around, Middle Earth has The Lord of the Rings, but there's no single conflict at the heart of 40k - by design, it's a banquet of different wars, conflicts and interests. Heresy could work but it's also set 10,000 years before the tabletop setting, and is very different to the world of 40k in many ways. Could definitely imagine a limited series based around the first 3 Heresy novels, though... Would love to see Jason Isaacs as Eisenhorn, think he'd be able to smash the role. A man can dream...
Technically doesn't fit the bill but I have to mention - Space: Above and Beyond which was an incredibly underrated Sci Fi soldiers in space adventure with some quirky character and decent plots.
Start the WH40k cinematic universe with the rise to power of The Emperor on Earth and then the conflict with Mars. It is the most relatable story to onboard new fans and also the simplest story to instantly make dramatic. It also hasn't been completely mined out for existing 40K fans.
@@thepaintingphase No I totally get it. Should have used /s. I think it'll be hard to make them more than that though. They'll either need to follow a Scout so we can see how they grow and interact, or just not make Space Marines the focus. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with and what Henry ends up playing as.
Peachy has the Delaque look (bald), I think that'll be perfect for him. Plus you could get him to come in for one episode in Dalaque cosplay. Just need tiny round spectacles and a trench coat. Otherwise I think he should go for Escher. That'll give us the anime girl cosplay we were robbed of.
I am so here for the Necromunda content! My vote goes to Van Saar, purely because I want to see Peachy paint colour shift hoverboard boys! On a related note, I remember watching a UA-cam video of Peachy opening the new (at the time) Necromunda Dark Uprising box set, he was like a kid on Christmas morning 😄
I knew Peachy was a VTuber, now it all makes sense. So kawaii. Jokes aside Necromunda is my favourite system/miniature collection by GW always happy to see it get much deserved coverage.
With this Amazon deal, I'm a step closer to seeing a 'Band of Brothers-esque' show surrounding the Last Chancer's or the Tanith 1st or something similar ❤️
Offft awesome pile of plastic crack but I'm still waiting on another trumbone gag pat lol. All joking aside I'm glad you guys are up and running again. Missed ye fellas
I think a genestealer or chaos cult would offer the best setting for actual execution. Remember many worlds in 40k are technological at our level. You don't need tons of cgi. And you can have so many perspectives on human life in the universe. Workers, military, upper class...
Definitely agree that any 40k TV series should centre ordinary humans as the POV characters. Whether Gaunts Ghosts, Eisenhorn or some other guard/inquisition, or something else, having relatable regular humans trying to survive in the 40k universe would definitely be the best way to go for a first series to get in lots of viewers.
I didn't mention it in the podcast but wish I had, Dredd was a film I thought about as an example. So much lore and things to explore but for the first movie they kept it simple and had him stomp through a tower block, thinking they'd bring in dark judges etc in newer films. Maybe they kept it too simple as the film didn't do great? Or that the raid came out and did better with the same premise. Anyway! I think humans have to be a factor in some way, people have to relate. But then people loved master chief and he didn't say much... I'll leave it to the pros. Pat.
Peachy's Wilhelm scream should really be clipped and added to the censor soundboard
Henry Cavil As Ciaphas Cain, He'll never die, he's basicaly the only 40k charecter that is relatable to a modern human, and the tone is going to be more forgiving as far as getting orks on screen.

Both adaptations weren't perfect 1 to 1s of the source material, but they captured the core of their stories and were served well by their writers and directors. LOTR is a classic trilogy and Dredd is widely regarded as a great film as well.
Dredd is a good action movie but it completely fails to capture the satire of the comics. it doesnt even try.
Does anyone remember Space: Above and Beyond? It was a fantastic series about a group of soldiers in the future. I'd love a similar series but 40k based. Or Gaunts Ghosts. Or anything.... I want it now! 😂
I was literally coming here to say that.
That chunk of sabbat martyr peachy talks about is the most cinematic 40K writing ever. It should be used as the primer for all the shows they make. Run the traditional there is only war blurb, then follow Dalin Through the battle as a one take shot. That would get everyone’s attention
Ooh what an intro that would make
I’m sold!
It was The Armour Of Contempt 👍
“BROTHERS of the SNAKE”, also by Dan Abnett is, the best book for introducing Space Marines.
Just reread that recently, brilliant book
Everyone needs a Peachy in their hobby group, turning up with bags of fun weapons, arms, pouches, etc 🙂
Necromunda series sounds cool, I'm totally down to watch all of it.
Samsies
Yes!
I’d hope they start with gaunts ghosts…basically space Sharpe!
Having something to do with the Rogue Traders might be interesting for an Amazon series, showing the different races that the Imperium encountered and the arduous task dealing with the administratum and the horrors of the warp, set up like a mockumentary of life in the Outer Rim. Super excited for this necromunda! Keep up the necromunda chat absolutely love it!
Us too! Thanks Boss.
Loved the pitch meeting on all the different 40k shows !
Loving the channel chaps. Motivating me to keep on with my hobby ♥️♥️
Love the idea of more Necromunda content
This is without doubt becoming my favourite pod cast. Love you guys and the banter. So excited for what you bring in the new year.
Can’t wait to show you!

never download the media pack! peachy looks good in the space-pants hair tho :-)
We’re getting your warning tattooed on our arms, Brent!
Esienhorn for the tv series.
Valdor for the big screen.
Peeps that know whats up will get the connection.
I always had the idea of a show opening with world war 2 era troops shooting at an unknown enemy, the chaos of treach warfare, people dropping without being focused on them, following a trooper run through the whole mess, but them get jumped by a Tyranid, killed, title screen

Re 40k TV, my wishlist would be for them to do a TV show on Blackstone Fortress. You have in that loads of aliens, chaos, human drama etc etc.
Thank goodness you've stepped up the audio guys, nice one!
Georf named 4 of my 5 favourite things: pub, swomen, squash, snooker. Awesome.
Crimson Queens for sure! Maybe chuck some Daughters of Khaine bits in to the mix?
Great video again chaps.
Merry Christmas!
Ooh yeah great shout 😍👍 - Peachy
Van Saar any day of the week Peachy!
Pick your favourite spider and go with a paint scheme themed on them!
Honestly i would of loved to join the patreon, but money is tight right now, with being unemployed and being on benefits. i still wish you guys all the best and i love every damn video you guys put out. :)
Hey, the fact you watch the vids is support enough, especially in these financially bum squeaky times. 👍👍👍
The Crimson Queens sound like a great gang to me.
I have to put my vote in for Van Saars! I love the messed up archeotech.
I've not seen much of Necromunda, so I'm eager to watch your series! Not that I need to get into another game...
Resist!
Hooray Necromunda!!! I vote for Van Saar, but really just anything Necromunda will make me happy
Cavill will be Valdor-King in Yellow. Just occurred to me. Seems obvious now that the thought happened.
Great to hear its Necromunda.
Those turbo dork metallics are killer. The standard coloured metallics are just as good as the 'color shift' variants. Great pigmentation and shine. Good choice.
The recent marvel Calgar comic by Kieron Gillan would work well as a show as it is space marine adjacent but mostly covers him as an aspirant
I vote for Escher. Simply because models are so much different from each other, so we see more of your great painting skills :P
I second this motion 😆👍 - Peachy
If you're listened to, or read, the WH40K crime series, there are some really great stories and ideas there for TV series. Much smaller scale, very human oriented. Almost non-Imperium like Imperium. Some great stuff.
They should do the original Jaq Draqo inquisitor series. Hands down I knew nothing about 40K when I read that and here we are.
Rule of Cool for me, Peachy is obviously digging a chance to do another Escher gang, so they get my vote :)
Something you said got me thinking. When you say "they need to humanize Space Marines" i am reminded of the awful Space Marine movie where they were all new Space Marines, but were acting like a bunch of 20yo army grunts. As for Necromunda, Peachy you’ve got to do Van Saars for sure 💪 no doubt in my mind it’s those lovely guys!
My vote is Weathered Van Saars.
Necromunda is my main game and I'm looking forward to some necro-content...be it painting or batreps.
Brilliant Show!
Good take on The Boys, I would love that kind of treatmeant for 40k
Peachy, bit of a tangent - there is an audiobook on audible called 'Aliens: Bug Hunt' that is a collection of short stories about Colonial Marines (Including those at Hadleys Hope) and their experiences with various types of 'bug', previous to their ultimate fate on LV426. Ooh, I’ll check that out thanks very much for commenting and letting me know.
Honestly I think the Warhammer Crime approach would be a good jumping off point for like a mini series, Varangantua is definitely grimdark but it's not insanely so that people who aren't familiar with the setting can't understand the premise. I love the idea of Henry cavil making a Necromunda series. Maybe following kal jericho or something like that.
Cornwell is my favorite author, glad to hear him mentioned.
Listening to the bit about generation-queues hits different after hearing about WarhammerFest :)
Peachy should do delaques… the cosplay pretty much sorts itself
My afternoon just got better ❤
Love listening in while painting. Always entertaining.
Thanks 😍😍😍
your idea for cavill is on point and I give you who he will play. The antagonist. The King in yellow. Valdor. So he can play in this series and a lot more. Like marvel or star wars Valdor is a character that has the Option for 30k, own ideas, and 40k
Another great episode of The Peachy Phase!
Lol.
To land the universe in my opinion 40k will need a prologue scene at the very beginning much like in the fellowship of the ring. Easily the best prologue in film history!! Just explains exactly everything, different cultures and races plus some well needed history
Bloody good prologue isn't it, even after all these years! That would be a great way to explain humanity in the 40k setting
I’m so glad your using turbo dork there paints are amazing
Look for transhuman dread and the description of it. It'd a fantastic quote from one of the early books
I loved playing as Van Saar in a campaign we have just finished. Neoteks with hand flamers!
Oh dear lads, lets see where this goes.
They could really do a tear jerker movie where you get the odd narration from an ogryn's inner voice as the movie goes along that includes said ogryn some of the time within the lattice of simpleness, complexity, clarity and cloudiness within a battle/war/expedition/crusade.
What would be more brutal than the first 5 minutes of UP.
Marines are like ninjas - 100 are fodder, 1 is a serious threat!
Sometimes you just get a little scrap code in the system and need to get it purged by a techpriest
Great chat again guys, enjoying the content as always.
Would love to see Henry Cavil take on the Age of Apostasy to start the entry into warhammer.
Think that could be achieved to ease everyone in.

That way the marines are almost background noise.
But the main reason why I think it'll be something like Eisenhorn is the cost factor.

henry cavill as garviel loken would be amazing.
Great chat, peachy should do Van Saar gang
I think Cavill will be a Custodes as they effectively are immortal. So he could be one of the originals Custodes from the Unification of Terra all the way to present day as an Eye of the Emperor if you didnt want the character tied to the throneworld
I can rewatch a great show called Anzac’s it’s older but just as good as band of brothers in term of story
Anzac’s was excellent.
I don't think they'll start with Eisenhorn... Just think about how expensive it would be to produce?? All the different locations, costumes, sets and additional cast and literally thousands of extras ...

HH movie with cavill playing every primarch
The Expanse is an amazon series that is done well.
I’d love to see a take on Van Saar.
I've just discovered you guys, I'm really enjoying your content!
What are your favourite 40k books ?
Hey thanks for the support! And my personal favourite books are the Gaunts Ghost novels, can’t answer for Pat and Geoff though - Peachy
Technically doesn't fit the bill but I have to mention - Space: Above and Beyond which was an incredibly underrated Sci Fi soldiers in space adventure with some quirky character and decent plots.
Do the Van Saar. If you have already done an Escher gang, this will be something different. Also I look forward to see how you paint them.
Start the WH40k cinematic universe with the rise to power of The Emperor on Earth and then the conflict with Mars.
It is the most relatable story to onboard new fans and also the simplest story to instantly make dramatic.
It also hasn't been completely mined out for existing 40K fans.
I think shira calpernia would be a good relatable series future coppers and riot rhinos...who wouldn't love that
I just hope the Amazon work is set in the same universe as the books.
I don't understand Jeff's complaints about Space Marines just fighting. Sounds amazing.
Don’t get me wrong I love the idea of marines getting their gun on, I just don’t want them to be just 1 dimensional characters - Geoff
@@thepaintingphase No I totally get it. Should have used /s. I think it'll be hard to make them more than that though.
Lol. What do you mean robbed? We put a beautiful one in the thumbnail.
'Space Marine handbags at dawn...' 😆
44:00 what about “Space: Above and Beyond”?
Forgot about that, good shout - Geoff
@@thepaintingphase I think it deserved more than one season. I even have the 3 issue comic book mini series.
Hahaha! I loved doing that with Andy and I was like a kid on Xmas 😂
I knew Peachy was a VTuber, now it all makes sense. So kawaii. Jokes aside Necromunda is my favourite system/miniature collection by GW always happy to see it get much deserved coverage.
Lol!
15 hours would be a great place to start for Amazon
You should do a Painting Phase “don’t click on suspicious links” Merch line.
Now that is a stonking idea.
If I saw live action death watch movie/TV show I'd throw my money at the TV lol. Keep up the rad work boyz.
Lol. Cheers Arjac.
I did say didn't I, next year! It will happen 🤣
Top man 🤣👌 all the best brother
Van Saar for life!
Uncensored audio for Patreons? 😁
I think a genestealer or chaos cult would offer the best setting for actual execution. Remember many worlds in 40k are technological at our level. You don't need tons of cgi. And you can have so many perspectives on human life in the universe. Workers, military, upper class...
When the gifts from mrs peach came out I was expecting some pegs
😂🤣😂
Pat.
