Moldygreenbean While I’m sad the Hellcat didn’t do better it makes sense. It’s a 1/4mi car and the super cars are always gonna reel it in during a longer race. Blasphemi is the same story.
Theres also one other thing here if finn had right tires and a prepped surface he prolly would beaten all of them since the 55 is an 8 sec car in the quarter and who knows how far at the half

@sanju2 same here but I thought we still get the on demand stuff on here. Just 4 weeks later. I don't see what the big deal is. The way things are going. Motortrend will probably on Velocity in a couple of years. I will give it to Motortrend though. Out of all the other magazines that jumped on the UA-cam bandwagon. Their content is the best. It has a more young, hip and vibrant feeling about it. Car&Driver, Road&Track need to step up their game. I just saw Car&Driver Lightning Lap episodes. Just like Best Drivers Car the Lightning Lap is a must watch. I also prefer it more because it sticks to the basics. Which is which car puts down the fastest lap at the Virginia International Raceway for its perspective pricing segment.

I hate whoever edits these videos. So many different camera angles, different shots and different takes. I just want to see one video of the entire race, one camera, one angle.
That way we can see where each car is at all times compared to the other cars.
I wouldn’t call this a drag racing video. I’d call it a video of cars launching from a stand still and their quarter mile times posted at the end.

however they run this drag race many times over to ensure they report accurate results so the final video is curated to ensure the results you see represent how the results of many drag races averaged out.
So if they tried to do 1 take it would have to involve them staging the racethey film to ensure the video matches the tests.

The way you think is right but I'm not sure about what angle you mean like camera in your pocket can't see anything that's probably what you meant ;) but my I pinion I like how they always change to the car so we can see the drivers because it also depends ON THE DRIVER KIDSSSSS because if the driver is say like 5 year drag racer than they know all the shifts and when to shift but I agree but if this were Instagram than I would want to see each engine and just the race with the drivers

@goukul a pillai do some research online and you will find that the Dodge demon struggles to hit 9 second quarter miles unless its running drag tires, race gas and ecu and is racing on a perfectly prepped race track. A dodge demon a track like this would run well into the high 10s to 11s because its not a prepped race track.

It would have because they aren't on a heavily prepped track. The Demon and Hellcats suck at drag racing anywhere but a heavily prepped drag strip (where the track is so sticky it will pull your shoes right off your feet - seriously)

How are you gonna put the scat pack challenger over the 840 hp demon that’s BUILT for straight line?
Lost against the 720 s on all occasions. And fitting it with deag radials and prepped surface wouldn't be fair, otherwise you'll do thr same with all zhe others and they'll still be faster . The 720s beats the demon, if both use slicks or street tires.

Blasphemi is a drag racer built more for the Quarter mile so that would have been a much more realistic race. I cannot imagine how that thing feels @ 155mph. I'm actually surprised it was that far up there considering it has a VERY bad drag coefficient. Maybe for the show a better gear was slipped in for high end? They didn't tell us.

Honestly I think they could of picked better cars for the challenger and mustang I would of liked to see a demon and a gt500 go up against some of the best cars in the world. But other than that super fun to watch super cars run a quarter mile!

I wish Motor Trend was still on UA-cam for all their content. I enjoyed the heck out of roadkill and this annual race, but their own streaming platform is a no go for me since I'd be paying for all the other stuff I don't watch.
I unsubscribed when they did that and came back later to look at the numbers and you can watch the views and subscribers plummet. I like their content but not all of it and not that much
exactly, i bet over 75% of their watchers were from roadkill and the worlds greatest drag race. add a little bit of their 1v1s which can be great and thats all i ever watched. + im sure someone streams the stuff somewhere for free
MTOD is cheap but still not very good, the original shows should be at least 2 per month each, paying to watch one episode a month of RK, RKG and HRG is stupid and not even worth what they charge. The other stuff in there is pure filler and the daily extras are phoned in.

Laberge don’t get me wrong Alpha Romeo produced a great SUV but does it make it deserving to be a best drivers car? I would take the X5M without a second thought and I believe it’ll stand its own ground in this race. Alpha Romeo has been praised a lot by many car magazines I’m tired of them.
Not random more paid for bullshit a lot of cars and or suvs could have taken its place but Alfa puts a ton of cash into these things to make them relevant.
