If I had to write a "Theory of the perfect Song" this would be one of the foremost examples! Perfect build-up, astonishing additional formal elements, unique sound, etc. Although there´s so much to say about this song it still leaves you speechless!
I saw the Feelies at Maxwell's for the first time in '86 when on vacation from the UK. I was blown away by them and it spoiled me for ever. I've seen Joy Division perform with the Buzzcocks but there is nothing quite like the Feelies. Only a few people in Britain had heard of them. Now they're back together. Wake Ooloo were great, Glenn's solo album is beautiful. Life is good. There's nothing quite like the Feelies.
Indeed! Hoboken's finest were one the greatest bands of the 80s! After all these years this still sounds so fresh and always reminds me of the opening scene in Susan Seidelmans film the Smithereens...one of the best timecapsules to late 70s early 80s Lower Manhattan.
Thanks for posting this! On of the most disregarded albums ever, even if allmusic gives 5 stars to it. I admit: I love that Feeelies debut album! Raised Eyebrows (who knows this...?) ist 0ne of the best songs I know - what a crazy rhythm it has....
+Adam Groves I am going to see the Feelies in concert at the 9:30 club in washington DC tonight.....I've seen them perform live 2 others times .....this one of their best songs along with LETS GO and LOVELESS LOVE and SLIPPING INTO SOMETHING and AWAY
Adam Groves good review of the Feelies concert I saw at the 9:30 club 10 days ago ....www.thevinyldistrict.com/dc/2016/04/tvd-live-the-feelies-at-the-930-club-416/
@manuntd2009 It's not silence. Here's the explanation. Glenn: Like at the beginning of “Moscow Nights”. We played these different effects, and we moved them with our hands. This wind, this chilly sound, but with the analog hiss it sort of got washed out.
I think the chemistry clicked when they got Brenda and Stan and Dave. Everything before that was just great songwriting and music recording. They were in a sense pioneers of their own future, But with out the female eliment.
I'm so glad I chose this as my first ever cover song. What an absolute masterpiece
One of the greatest rock intros of all time. Definitely underrated

One of my all time favourite songs,
those guitars.... Thank You!
Very impressive combination of energy and teamwork. Fun! Thank you for posting.
To this day the best live performance I ever saw was them playing at the old 9:30 Club in Washington DC somewhere around 1990.
Saw them a couple of times at the 9:30 myself in '89-90. Mercer/Million and company never disappoint.
Old 9:30 was great.
This is wonderful...thanks for putting this together...love all the early shots of the band
That amazing guitar solo!
glory days,we grow up with these sounds, thanks for putting this
Not only some Brits heard om them..

What a band. What a song.
They really give it all in their music.
Holy shit this is the intro for a Spanish TV show that I've been watching re runs of! They had the band Felt on there.
Which show?
Felt is good too!

Feelies...back in the pleated pants era...Man, those were the days before time/space warped us into old people...

it's been reissued!
One of the most influential also
@midi6868 : i think they ARE commonly placed in the pantheon of seminal post-punk acts.
The album's just been reprinted! Go buy it now, it's awesome!
0:34 I didn't know Glenn Howerton was in this band.
I think the chemistry clicked when they got Brenda and Stan and Dave.
Everything before that was just great songwriting and music recording.
They were in a sense pioneers of their own future, But with out the female eliment.
