+E-roke Kenedi I am going to see the Feelies in concert at the 9:30 club in washington DC tonight.....I've seen them perform live 2 others times .....this one of their best songs along with LETS GO and LOVELESS LOVE and SLIPPING INTO SOMETHING
That album also got me hooked on them. It's my favorite of theirs and I saw them open for Lou Reed during this period and also headline a show in a small club.
LYRICS Over in the corner Causing a commotion Driving me away Driving me backwards Baby's getting uptight Listen to her holler Listen to her heartbeat Really getting louder Burning with desire Taking me higher Taking me away Set me on fire Messing my mind up Blowing my mind out Blowing me away Taking me away Away Going round in circles Here we go again Really going nowhere Really going nowhere Now we're really in deep Now we're really in deep Blowing me away Taking me away Away
yeah, but to say that the Feelies would never have existed if not for the Velvet Underground is a pretty accurate statement. I mean the track that follows this song on the album is a cover of Velvet's "What Goes On"
The Greatest Unknown Band - The Feelies
I was 22 and listening to a college radio station in St. Louis when I first heard this song in '89... I purchased the album/CD shortly thereafter.
Tout l'album est formidable ! Une pépite Pop Rock !
Best "unknown" band, ever.......
Definitely!
The album that got me hooked on The Feelies. Great track.

The most underrated rock band in history of the music industry 😡
I agree, along with the wipers.
I'm generally tired of hearing that, but in this case, it's absolutely true. Uhhhhhh, and Janet Jackson is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. 🤷
They are highly rated in my universe
Them and the Brian Jonestown Massacre :)
When great bands fail to get a lot of love, I just look at it as "hey, this is my little secret band and you can't have 'em."
Absolute awesomeness 😊❤️🌹🎶🎼
the Feelies are simply amazing. top 10 band ever
I like your style
One of the album's best tracks.
Since I posted this, I must've seen these guys live about 8 times. This track is especially fantastic live.

Causing a commotion
Driving me away
Driving me backwards
Baby's getting uptight
Listen to her holler
Listen to her heartbeat

Taking me away
Away
Going round in circles
Here we go again
Really going nowhere
Really going nowhere
Now we're really in deep

My go to song for when shit is r-o-u-g-h
The rhythm guitar casts a spell. It is unparalleled in rock. Very cool in the truest sense.

This bands is it's said to be Yo La Tengos number one biggest influence on their music even more so that the Velvet Underground.
+Scott Wilson I can see that, although theyre hardly a million miles from VU.

Of course the Feelies are very velvety.
