Capt. Val, thanks for taking us along with you. It looks very busy in the cockpit but with beautiful skies there's little one can complain about. Life is good. Thanks for sharing!
Enjoyed your flight to Grand Cayman. Our family has flown down there many times from our home in central Florida in our light twin engine aircraft. Once in a while the ATC clearance gets lost or shuffled to the wrong place creating an issue but usually it's un-eventful. The FBO, Island Air, does a great job of processing all our needs on the island. Glad you had a great flight!
Capt. Val, that was a slow ATC response for you to pick up your IFR. Liked it when you radioed “N1879L did you forget about me” 😅 Glad they finally got around to it. Hopefully the rest of the flight was stress free and enjoyable for you guys. Looking forward to part 2. Lou from Miami.
Hey Capt. Val, I have not heard from you for quite a while. I hope you are doing well. I hope that a lack of videos from you does not mean that you have not been flying much. Probably you have been too busy to take the time to record, edit, and publish videos. Those of us who cannot pass the medical (A-Fib) have to do our flying vicariously through people like you, and Stevo1Knevo, and FlyWithKay, and . . . When you disappear for a while, I really miss you. Thank you for the times you do bring us along and take us with you!! I have really missed you, and appreciate you. As I say to my kids and grand kids, TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOU!!! Thank you again for the extra work it is to put out a video when you fly!!! YOU ARE APPRECIATED!!!
We could have called Palm beach departure but it was a beautiful VFR day! This is the first time we’ve had to wait that long for a clearance. Lesson learned though.
There are a few resources available for you. AOPA has a great book available explaining how to fly over Cuba: www.aopa.org/travel/international-travel/caribbean Also, Caribbean Flying Adventures are very helpful. www.caribbeanflyingadventures.com/
Hi Capt. Valerie, so good to see you! Cayman Islands, that’s where everyone stashes their money, isn’t it 😜 Picking up your IFR clearanceI was certainly a chore, back and forth between two facilities, I could feel your frustration. Looking forward to Part 2! Thanks for taking me along 🤗
Hi Peter! Good to see you here 😎 I don’t think it’s still a thing anymore 💰😂 but I could be wrong. Getting our clearance certainly tested my patience 😉 You’re always welcome aboard. Glad you enjoyed it. ✈️
Unfortunately, the audio was not the best. I only managed to get one audio recording to work during the first portion of the flight. The issue in Part 2 gets resolved eventually; it turned out the cables weren't fully plugged in, which I hadn't realized. One camera with (on my left side) didn’t record at all. So my options were limited.
@@DanFrederiksen I’ve tried to edit it in the Final Cut Pro and it was the best version I could get. I don’t think splitting was an option. Stereo, Mono left and right was. I will research that at some point. Hopefully I won’t get this issue again. 🤞
Great to see Captain Val and Eric in the air. Brilliant light on taking off. Thanks for sharing your experience 😊
Thanks for flying along! 😎✈️

Love Grand Cayman! We are definitely going back soon. Easy flight right!? Island Air was great. Very professional team at the FBO.
What a great video!!! Such incredible scenery.
Thank you! It really is beautiful!
Sweet! Safe travels. Never been to Caymans, sounds great!!
It is an easy flight.

Was there no way to pick up your clearance prior to departure? Beautiful plane!

Hello ... thank you for sharing ... nice takeoff and interest flight thru Cuba... All The Best !!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! Take care 😊
I am sure you saw in editing but left engine smoked a little starting. Right looked good.
Love the channel !!!
Yes, It did. It was a hot start too.
Always enjoy your videos. Is there much involved to get a clearance to fly over Cuba?

Thank you so much for your support 🤩 🍦 🍨
As difficult as it was picking up your IFR, I can't even imagine being an ATC. Hope you get to take at least a small break on this flight!
Being ATC is for sure very stressful. They are an extra pair of eyes out there. 😁
That was a hassle for you, getting IFR clearance. I think I'd find that quite stressful!
Very unusual.
What a cool trip Valerie! It’s been a while, since I have been on your channel. Hope you guys are doing great! -Brian B
Welcome back! The requested Short is out. 😉
Amazing!!! Absolutely Beautiful!! Did you file your own flight plan or do you use a handler? Great video, thanks. Looking forward to part 2

Any ideas regarding the radio difficulties?
Audio is low/muffled and only in the right audio channel?

@@SkylineBaronPilot ok. you can probably gain the volume in the editing and split it in both channels somehow if it happens again

I’ve been playing with part 2 including the audio with issues from part 1 and was able to equalize the split and increase the left side. It’s better.

Hello I known you are perfect French speaking can you do one video in French that’s very cool thanks
As much as I would love to, I can’t speak “airplane” in French 😂 I can certainly add more French in future videos.
Super merci beaucoup
Hey Val ! What kind of power settings are you running there w that flyover of Cuba ? Just curious
Usually we cruise at 32 MP/ 24RPM
