This is great stuff! Thanks for taking the time to make this video and pointing out this insightful information! I have the FCB day special origin edition.🙂
This was actually really helpful thanks for posting this 👍. I really have wanted this for a while I always thought they were exactly the same except the barcode I had no idea they were that different. I actually think I'll get the secret origins edition it might not hold the same value currently but it seems to tell me more of the story on Terry's side and I really like that. I want to put it with my batman beyond sideshow statue :) thanks
It was issue 2, I made a update in the description but I wish UA-cam let me put word edits on the vid! #1 Direct Edition: March, 1999. Batman Beyond #2: April, 1999 (Terry dons the suit for the first time). #1 Free Special Origins: June, 1999
Rarity in terms of supply? That's hard to say, but in terms of value, I'd have to say the "Direct Edition" is more valuable since it came out first in March, 1999. "Free Special Origins" came out in June, 1999. I sold my direct sales and kept my FSO because as a collector, I liked it more. Though in my opinion, FSO is still valued decently as well.
However from a comment by Nelson below: he states: "I would buy the newstand because any 90's newstand book are far less of them than direct edition so actually more rare. So you can probably get it for less since people aren't aware of this. To the Victor goes the spoils!!"
The direct edition seems more valuable. According to the website GoCollect, a 9.8 grade, full market value is priced at $1500 for a direct edition. However on Ebay, a 9.8 CGC has sold for upwards of $2400 as of January 30th of this year. On Jan. 16th a 9.8 CGC Special Origins Issue with the blank corner has sold for $700

I just bought me a 9.6 Direct Edition 👌🏽
Which one is more rare between the two ?

Why are you opening the book like that? Sure way to get spine ticks and color breaks which lowers the book price when you send to CGC
All in the name of science
@@Stormnorman15 Good enough reason for me. Great work on breaking down both books!
@@nelsonrodriguez5451 Thank you!!
Which one is worth more if they are graded by CGC? And if one is worth more than the other, by how much?
