I get The Batman (2004) version of the Joker isn't for everyone, and his design is unconventional, but I like him. He's one of the few kid-friendly iterations of the Joker I actually find scary, and he had an incredible voice actor. His uncanny valley, animalistic, straight jacket design gave the impression of a creepypasta character.
I love "the Brave and the Bold". It could be silly and campy like the 60's show, but also dark and tragic like the 90's cartoon. The fact both tones combined worked perfectly shows how underrated this masterpiece is
Agreed, I have a personal bias because unlike most people Brave and the Bold was my first introduction to Batman and the larger DC universe but I personally like Batman Brave and the Bold more than BTAS. Although I will admit that BTAS is objectively better I just have more nostalgia for Brave and the Bold.
Yeah as much as I love the dark tone of the 1990s Animated Series and 2004's The Batman, I adore Batman: The Brave and the Bold's campy tone inspired by the late golden age/early silver age comics and Dick Sprang's comic book artstyle
Let’s not forget the amount of dc characters that showed up in that show and I would say that it was my introduction to the dc universe even tho jl and jlu did it first
What I really admire about Brave and the Bold in hindsight is how it introduced me and many people to DC characters whom we didn't know that much about. Like Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Plastic Man, Wildcat, Owl Man, Red Tornado, Guy Gardner, and Bat Mite
The Batman is an underrated gem and an undisputable part of our childhood. I specially loved the wacky edgy 2000's designs they gave to Joker snd Solomon Grundy
What's really chilling is that Grundy initially seemed to be Ethan Bennett's Clayface in disguise...but then the waters of the swamp started bubbling, hinting that Grundy might be real.
As a kid who grew up in the 90’s let me step in here and argue that Matt Hagen is the best Clayface, a tragedy,a villain, a victim, an addict, an actor, and a monster all rolled into one, making a believable, but outlandish, and sympathetic, but dangerous villain.
Until people started reviewing it on UA-cam, I didn’t think many people liked or even saw “The Batman” show. It was my favorite iteration growing up and I’m glad it’s being talked about more now.
I remember watching it every time it came on as a kid. And the Adam west one I used to watch after school but I also preferred the Batman. The intro is one of the few intros I don’t skip too
Brave and the Bold Introduced me to Blue Beetle and Plastic Man as a kid. That show and Justice League were great for showcasing different cast characters that not many people would’ve known of.
“The Batman” is currently on Netflix so wdym the first 2 seasons are “boring” it’s really NOT bc the first 2 seasons focus more on the DETECTIVE aspect of Batman so if you’re saying that one of the most IMPORTANT aspects to the Batman character is “boring” that’s on you dude
I LOVED "the Brave and the Bold" as a teen. I watched it whenever I could. Alongside DCUO, it served as my introduction to the greater DC Universe beyond the movies.
I couldn’t disagree more with the idea of skipping the first two seasons of The Batman. Skipping those seasons would meaning skipping over a majority of both Ethan Bennett and Ellen Yin’s storyline, which are some of the best in the series.
The man says to skip the first two seasons and then maybe watch them later if you want to. ...so just watch the first two seasons? I don't see the problem. He's acting like the first two seasons are disease all because he's not a fan of the designs. He doesn't even mention the VAs, the designs themselves, or even the story they weaved within it. I really loved The Batman. While not quite as good as Batman The Animated Series, some characters like Catwoman, Hugo Strange, Batgirl and surprisingly Firefly were handled much better than in BTAS. It also has one of the best alternative versions of Clayface and I absolutely loved Robert Englund as the Riddler and is probably my second favourite Riddler after Wally Wingert from the Arkham games. I do definitely disagree though about skipping season 1 and 2. If anything I think that season 5 is the weakest of the show. It just kind of turned into a team up episode most of the season with different Justice League heroes and lost some of the elements that made this show interesting to begin with.

Plus many of its choices were creatively fresh. I wish it had lasted more seasons and had gotten the recognition it deserved.

Honestly never really see anyone say this New Batman Adventures has to be my favorite, memorable lines like Joker talking about how he would rather fight Batman than the IRS, the character designs looking sleeker from Batman TAS, the voice acting being more polished, etc. It feels like the perfect continuation to Batman TAS and I love it for that.
Brave and the bold is definitely my personal favourite Batman series and very grateful growing up with it because now I know so many DC Characters that I would’ve never known existed if I hadn’t watched it
I love ALL Batman/DC animated shows. They’re all incredible in their own way. Now TBATB was amazing! Mixing campy 60’s tone with dark and dramatic themes at times was pure magic. Truly amazing shows. Beats Marvel animated content too
Batman Beyond remains 1 of my favorite Batman series for so many reasons. It had great storytelling, writing, characters, stayed pretty faithful to the Batman mythos, while also not being afraid to add new content to the show due to it being set within the future. What I think I really loved about the Batman Beyond show the most was how it wasn't afraid to put a different spin on the Batman franchise. Like, it's said in the video, Terry's Batman seemed more like a Spider-Man type hero, but the show still worked amazingly since it didn't have to rely fully on the previous Batman shows and also tackled new concepts that previous Batman shows never really focused on like drugs being used as performance enhancers for school kids. The originality of the show is what makes it so refreshing since most Batman shows stick to the same formula, but Beyond wasn't afraid to be different and make itself stand out.
Honestly Batman Beyond is just so special because it *not* being Bruce meant we got something unique.. and them not just being like "yeah I'm an old rogue's kid with practically the same schtick" was so so nice that it felt like we actually saw what a continuation would be like unlike some shows that do the whole "future hero" thing by taking the current villains and.. maybe slightly changing them.. like "oh yeah this evil guy had a daughter.. and she more of an anti-villain.. zomg we are unique" Like the few times we did see an old rogue they still got a twist.. except Joker.. he acted like you'd expect.. but others at least had something.. Bane aged and was stuck in life support because of the venom drug.. Freeze is just an immortal head (despite.. biologically shouldn't be able to live without rest of his organs but "comic" logic).. Ra's stole Talia's body and.. tried to seduce Bruce for I forget what reason.. and that's it.. no one else shows up and closest to a "descendant" I guess for an OG rogue would be the Jokerz gang but.. they are far from actually being like the Clown Prince of Crime himself.. oh wait I think technically two of the gang members were Harley's grandkids but she herself wasn't involved.. think she even was shown scolding them at some point But yeah.. Harley's grandkids weren't recurring or big bads ever they just kinda.. existed which I kinda liked.. since it would be boring to have a Joker related character still be an issue for a Batman
I really enjoy all of these shows. The Batman is still good at the first few seasons as well, the slow build up is on purpose and good for story. I remember having French toast in the mornings while watching the show on KidsWB. Ahhh memories.

Bane aged and was stuck in life support because of the venom drug.. Freeze is just an immortal head (despite.. biologically shouldn't be able to live without rest of his organs but "comic" logic).. Ra's stole Talia's body and.. tried to seduce Bruce for I forget what reason.. and that's it.. no one else shows up and closest to a "descendant" I guess for an OG rogue would be the Jokerz gang but.. they are far from actually being like the Clown Prince of Crime himself.. oh wait I think technically two of the gang members were Harley's grandkids but she herself wasn't involved.. think she even was shown scolding them at some point
But yeah.. Harley's grandkids weren't recurring or big bads ever they just kinda.. existed which I kinda liked.. since it would be boring to have a Joker related character still be an issue for a Batman
And what’s cool is it’s not based off comics it’s TV original the beyond series
I completely agree with Batman Beyond being number 1, it's my favorite show ever tied with Young Justice
You mean justice league?
@@redalert923 no young justice
Yes! A good topic!
❤ 100 percent agree with you man! My order ( though not origonal admittedly)
1 Batman TAS
2 New Adventires
3 Batman B&B
4 Batman Beyond
5 The Batman
I really enjoy all of these shows. The Batman is still good at the first few seasons as well, the slow build up is on purpose and good for story. I remember having French toast in the mornings while watching the show on KidsWB. Ahhh memories.
RIP Kevin Conroy. He is forever Batman. Legends never die. 😢
The Batman the first one you mentioned I wanted and I like the whole thing the jokers not great lol
i think the batman gets worse later on cuz i think season 1 and 2 are peak but it doesnt get bad

The Brave and the Bold might have the best confrontation of Joe Chill in media outside of comics.
Replace Brave and The Bold with Beware the Batman
