Now I know that you can't blame the tanking market on one book, but I think that book shed light on some of the corruption going on with the influencers and CGC at the time; it left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. The first few CGC copies were blue labels, and then CGC became aware that the acetate cover was applied after the book was printed and then started giving them green labels. In addition to this fiasco, you had the "influencers" cutting line and buying out all the issues at C2E2, which became a whole different controversy. Last but not least, at the same time this book dropped and all hell broke loose in the comic community, Clayton Crain ran off with the wife of Black Flag's owner and disappeared until the smoke cleared from the acetate ordeal. It was definitely a crazy time.
I think Sub Mariner #1 is still a decent long term hold. It has dropped a lot but Namor has been around a looooong time and at some point he will be done properly and interest in the character will be revived.
I guess we should have sold during Covid. I still have my tales of suspense 39 8.5 I paid $5300 and that book sold for $120,000 $99,000 about two years ago on Comic Link now it’s stabilized and the $70,000 range.. yes, it sounds like amazing fantasy 15 is the only safe bet .
The COVID comic book was an aberrational peak, practically everything is way below those levels. I wouldn't say that makes AF15 the only safe bet though. Your TOS is also still way more than you bought it for

Also, the variant-variant cover was not authorized by Marvel. So that was another problem they ran into, yeah it was a total cluster F and shit show very entertaining to watch from afar!

I don't own any ultra-modern grails but I'd probably pick NYX3 over UF4. Laura seems somewhat connected with the classic X-verse, Miles is just too far away from the classic Spider-verse.
I am right with you on the first Avatar movie. I remember watching it in IMAX and being so confused as to how this movie was so popular. There was nothing horrible about it - it was just so bland and predictable.

While She didn't have a long running series like Hulk or Thor, she was in that next tier down, as a frequent member of the Avengers, plenty of appearances in the FF, and series of her own every few years. $300 is the price of a Copper Era villain, not a Bronze Era hero the status of She-Hulk.

Investors are ruining the market... You all forget, your "investment" is based on the fact that collecter like holding on to their collections... If investors just sold to other investors, the books would have ZERO value... the books only take on value because the collecters have deemed that Character/ Story is worth collecting. Thus creating a limited number... Collecters > Investors
