No Drum Room Mics? We Can FAKE IT

Creating a Fake Drum Room - This week I want to show you how to create a fake drum room. We don't always have the option of recording room microphones when tracking drums, or maybe we were sent a track to mix without drum room mics. Creating a fake drum room is dead simple so let's take a look at how to pull this off.

Thanks!! Depending on the drum library you’re using you wouldn’t need it. Like I use Steven Slate Drums and depending on the kit preset (or if you’re building your own kits) you’ll already have 1-2 sets of room mics ready to go.
On the flip side tho if you’re using a library that lacks room mics (or just just want a different room sound) then yea techniques like this can work great 🙂

Thanks Randy. I’m not sure if I’ve seen how Joel does it, but most of the videos I’ve seen just have slightly different ways of doing the same thing, so I just wanted to add my spin to the mix. Glad you got something out of the video though 🙂
