No wonder we've not seen a video for a while, you've been very busy building the workshop.
Very nice job, i don't envy you with all that digging out you had to do.

Great work, great vid as usual. No stupid music or false drama, just "this is how I did it and why."

Fantastic work Sir, a superb spec and well done to boot. I do think you're a jammy sod though for having all that space, even if it does come with it's own headaches.
I did subscribe and this is my fourth vid., I watched the Welding Positioner, and the Lathe DRO Installation and of course the first part of your new workshop/Home.
No doubt I'll watch em all eventually, as well as enjoy every minute.

That cement blocks don't have enough strength for that H beam exspessialy with added weight I done the same and it cracked the one side come down after that I concrete support H beams for proper support. My experience, maybe you fill the concrete blocks below with concrete install rebar and wire between each layer.

@@Handmadeextreme Nothing to apologize for - I was watching the video with my jaw on the floor for most of it. Cracking job on getting the RSJs parallel to a mil, I'm sure most of us couldn't manage it to the nearest inch! 🤣
Seems strange how the back and side walls were built... nothing quite like a PITA job for you to fix yourself eh

You really are living the dream buddy, great work.
It might be a trick of the light but in the first half as you're panning the camera at 6:30 there is a really pale line of mortar near the top? Wondered if that was anything specific

    • @Handmadeextreme
      @Handmadeextreme  2 роки тому

Cheers, glad you enjoyed it. I think it's probably just the light. The only thing that changed in the mortar mix between batches was the amount of water. As I got better the mix got wetter so I could work faster. Thanks for watching.

Hi Rob. Absolutely loving this workshop move. The only thing is, it makes me wish that I had done this when I moved from a small unit to an approx' 3 times larger unit in the same farmyard. Now up to about 155m^2
Luckily I didn't have the damp issues you had, nor the need to put in a mezzanine; although we did think bout it in the smaller unit.
Looking forward to the next video, and actually, congratulations on the house AND workshop move.
    Regards Mark in the UK
p.s. The valve (and other) work that you get, is it through connections from a previous employer for example or just new customers from advertising or word of mouth etc.? Must be very satisfying having work coming in.

    Great video! Nice progress.
But I think this is wrong way doing this isolation
Inside walls become warm from heating. But Outside wall stay alaways cold. Thats goid loot of moisture in insulation wolle. And latter you become loot of isue with mold.
Why wasn't it isolated from the outside? Or come later ?
And why you didn't make isolation under the new walls and separate from beton floor? Now pool all moisture from beton to wall.

Rob I stumbled on your thread cutting video and was surprised to see your lathe! Is it a Harrison vs330? I just bought my first larger lathe, a Harrison AA, US model, I guess. Hope to stay in touch to maybe pick up some tips and tricks with that particular lathe. :-) Thanks for your videos. (I'm in Southern California.) Cheers
