Lovely anthurium collection. Let me say you are a brave soul for showing your successes and failures. We the plant family sometimes can be a little too harsh on other plant parents 😅. I love anthuriums but got to admit that they are fuzzy little plants 😂
Looking at your wendlingeri I think of two things, give that thang CalMag and maybe adjust the pH bc that could also be sth preventing it from uptaking nutrients... anthurium do enjoy more acidic water with a pH of around 5,5 - 6,0
You’re right I need to stop being lazy and give it the cal mag again… I normally do adjust my anthurium PH but lately I’ve done a few Azamax applications and I don’t PH balance when I do that. I’d be curious to know the source of the ID you’re comparing to because I see lots of people posting plants that don’t look correct under “Longissimilobum” but pretty confident mine is the correct ID. I’ve had it since before they started being mass produced and got it from Ivan Portilla personally. Also possible that the plant can have morphological changes as it matures or based on growing conditions. This one had much more narrow lobes before it started to mature. Also possible there could be multiple eco types with slight variations.

So for perfect anthurium leaves I’ll tell you what Ivan from Ecuagenera told me and that it’s all in your water quality. I only water my anthurium with filtered water that’s been ph balanced because that’s all I can do, but if you can collect rainwater, use aquarium water, RO or distilled that’s even better. If the crisping starts at the very tip, that could be over fertilizing.
@@PlantFriendDownTheStreet ohhh. I water using aquarium water because that's all I have available and it still happens, so maybe I should dilute my fertilizer water more. Thank you!
Yeah, I’d probably start with that. Other thing is you could maybe look into Phyton 27. It’s a bacterial/fungal systemic in case the damage is from something like that. Only other thing I can think of would be underwatering… if you’re not sure whether it’s over or underwatering, maybe your substrate isn’t retaining water and you need to up pot? Idk what system you’re using but if they’re in semi hydro, you might be letting your reservoirs go to low or need to increase how often you flush… there are so many factors but I hope something clicks that’s helpful!
@@PlantFriendDownTheStreet this is super helpful, thank you! I'll be looking into Phyton 27 just in case I might need it. As for the substrate, I actually repotted the crystal mag the day before yesterday and the substrate it was in was too peat heavy, so that could've been a factor. Repotted it into a more airy substrate but in a container with no drainage with the expectation that it will provide moisture to the roots while the substrate itself doesn't remain too dense and water retentive. I know it's kinda unorthodox in the community but it's helped me monitor when to water plants compared to pots with drainage, we'll see how it fares with those conditions. Thank you so much! So for the blue Papi it’s tough to say without more info but my hunch is that if it’s only 190 it’s either tissue cultured or not pure Pap.
